- How to make smoked turkey soup using a Caribbean technique. Loaded with herbs, coconut milk, ground provisions and spiced up with scotch bonnet peppers, this smoked turkey soup is truly delicious. Smoked meats such as ham hocks, ham bones, turkey necks or wings can also be used to make this sort of traditional Caribbean soup.

I typically make Jamaican chicken soup but wanted to use smoked turkey neckbones instead and this recipe will be perfect. Thank you Chef Chris for your step by step instructions.

I made this receipt tonight and my family loved it. However, I should have listened to you about the scotch bonnet pepper. I left it in the pot to long and I couldn't fish it out. . My baby girl said it was to spicy. It was a hit in my house otherwise. Thanks so much.

You basically use a dry stock so that defeats what you said. He needs dry. Broth is still considered a stock. Thanks for sharing.

Man, let me tell you soldiers! I made a pot of this dish for the family that was visiting from out of town on Saturday. It was so good that they ate seconds and nearly their fingers. Good stuff!
Then, they went home and fixed the soup for their families the next week. You can't go wrong with this one. Plus, this is a delicious way to get rid of that dried Thanksgiving turkey!

Made this soup for my husband this past weekend. He licked the pot clean wanting more. I didn't have any okra or pimento pepper however it was still super delicous! Have you considered caribbeanpot T-shirts or aprons? Thank you and keep up the good work!

Thanks I dont live in Toronto though :( I live in london ON we do have a few asian grocery, one larger one being United which I go to often but dont think ive ever seen them. wonder if i could make it with just regular turkey leg...the smoked meat probably add the flavor to the soup though

you add salt and then add cock soup is full of sodium and then say add more salt to taste...4000mg of salt....I did red Chinese hot pepper and some Cheyanne powder to mine and some minced dried onions to hydrate in the stock and it was great and only 560mg salt very heart healthy, just wanted to add that, love your recipe just dont want High blood pressure from it... :o ^v^ PS...I know this is 7 years later thou.
