Had one last week in Colorado. Blue Ram truck like that one. Dude passed me, challenged me to fight. I called 911 & recorded him. He stopped, got out with a defensive baton. Charged me . I backed up while he came at me. I drove foreword, hit him with my car. He flew into the weeds. I kept going towards my house, 1 mile away. To get a firearm. Dude chased me all the way home. Cops finally came and charged the guy. Harassment, menacing, & reckless driving.

This law is a enhancer. It's similar to hate crime laws. You get charged with the underlying offense, and on top of that you get charged with the the road rage, which increases the potential sentence. It also can create a chargeable offense, if the behavior falls short of the existing laws, but is still deemed a problem. Think about a driver who comes close to ramming you or forcing you off the road, but doesn't make any contact. They might not have violated any existing laws, but the behavior is still bad. This new law allows you to punish them too.

Because they take less crap from people in little cars LOL. A little car usually isn't going to pick a fight with a truck, the car will just be destroyed or under the truck while the truck will drive home so there isn't much a fight, but when it's a truck well it can take some abuse and if it's not against another truck then well unless the car causes the truck to roll over then it doesn't have much a chance.
Your seeing alot of these pickups in these situations because there are MILLIONS of them sold, most men prefer a truck as we don't urinate sitting down so we don't want a little soft car LOL. As an OTR trucker I've certainly encountered plenty of road rage out here. I feel the only way to rectify the issue would be to completely overhaul our licensing and driver education system, and ramp up the penalties for bad driving behaviors. There are far too many drivers out here on the road that shouldn't be behind the wheel in the first place.
Another issue is urban planners and developers in the government laying out out cities poorly. We need better availability for people to be able to walk or bicycle for home to a store or work. It doesn't cost anywhere near as much to build and maintain footpaths separate from roads and adequate sidewalks in areas that lack them.

I dislike road rage just as much as the next guy. The problem with the new law is that it gives the government too much freedom to punish people.
If a cop is having a bad day, and a person driving safely that hates cops, gives the cop the bird. We'll now I can see the cop abusing this new law and claim the safe driver is now a road rage driver.
We shouldn't be giving open ended power like this to the government. They will abuse it.

The law won't change anything except the state's budget.. Road Rage is an impulsive reaction, it isn't an act of forethought, and there's typically two reasons it can happen:
    - a brush with certain danger or risk can trigger a fight response in an individual instead of a flight response.
    - the road rager possesses less intelligence than most others and doesn't care about what happens as long as the other party is dealt with.
In either case, a higher ranked misdemeanor and/or impounding the vehicle will not be considered beforehand and will not be a successful deterrent.. :(
