As a Vietnamese, i watched it lots of time and i know every Vietnamese do it too. My grandfather was a Vietnamese army in the US-Vietnam war. I cried, i know every wars are Savage but it’s more than savage in Vietnamese’ eyes.

This part 1:28 got me right in the feels. Like The hands are more pink than Vietnam, Vietcong, or South Vietnam so by process of elimination it's the USA. Just the fact that the Vietnamese woman is bare (presumably) and blindfolded, crying as she's being strangled to death. Makes me think how many North Vietnamese suffered as much as the Allies.
I'm Vietnamese and I really enjoy this video. That's dolorous and difficult time, many Vietnamese died or lost their family. The war will also have an end but the pain that war has brought to everyone is endless. This is an amazing animation. Being a very real look at the war. Vietnam was an absolute mess of a war. It showed us that war can devolve into senseless bloodshed and mayhem, even if the causes on both sides are just.
Sometimes we are too quick to assign blame to one side or another. But it takes reminding ourselves that humans are not perfect, and especially in Vietnam, no one comes out of war with clean hands.
Much love, from America. I hope our nations and our peoples can one day come together and finally mend the wounds of such a terrible war.

As a Vietnamese, I really surprised cause all the details are so true. Im in the genZ, and Im not a part of the Vietnam war then but my grandparents do. They told us lots of stories and things about the Vietnam war. The woman with the "đòn gánh" (Idk what's that in English but its like a bag, you can put things into it 0:57) who is carry her kid inside the "đòn gánh", which is pretty true. I remember i read a book long time ago, told that the Mother in Vietnam war usually put their kids into the "đòn gánh" to protect them from the mine bomb on the ground (because they was so naughty so they might be 💥 if they touch the bomb)

thats sad, but at the same time pretty cool to learn the history, especially from a family member so you get an idea of what it's like and how it was; even if you weren't there. On my mother sides,her family is from Germany and my omi visits the US to see us for about a month every year, and whenever she visits she always tells the stories of her surviving a bombing that happened in her country, around the 50s. I can't recall what the bombing was called, but she said that when it went down she was quite young, working in an art shop she owned. I can't remember what she said word for word, but something along the lines of her having to ration her food, hide from the bombings, and food sources becoming scarce. She would get a little ticket type thing and would turn in it to get food, sort of similar to food stamps. It was really the only way you could get food and such, and that she could never afford any type of meat. The first time she ate meat was when she married an US soldier and came to the US, and was shocked at how "normal" it seemed to be compared to where she was from.
Before she migrated to America, she had a son in germany and moved to the US around when he was what? 2? Then her son had a kid, which is my mom, and my mom had a kid, which is me lol.
Sorry for the super long story, just thought it was interesting and wanted to share it with someone else.

THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL AND SHOWS OFF THE VIETNAM WAR BETTER THEN ANY OTHER MEME IVE EVER SEEN OMG. I love how it not only shows the fighting part, but the civil unrest in the US at them getting involved in the war, not to mention the lives and losses of civilians as well as the executions and traps of the soldiers. It wasn't just 'hehe Vietnamese are trees', it showed that it was a lot more than that. Not to mention all this wasn't *looped* at all. Not to mention it didn't show either side as 'good', which is refreshing. Both sides had their war crimes, both sides had there losses. It was overall just an awful time. And how it ended with the gunshot was just the cherry on top.
I cannot wait to see more serious and accurate memes like this mixed in with the crack/joke memes!

as someone who lives in America- i was never taught about the Vietnam War. watching this was both terrifying, beautiful, and just terrible- but also incredibly educational and that was literally just- amazing to know and see what happened in the war

This is amazing! I really liked when you showed the unrest in America. Whenever I ask someone about what happened in the war, one of the first things they mention is how divided people were here on it. I honestly still don’t really understand what prompted it and the main points of the Vietnam War, and I definitely want to know.
It is sometimes said that a false attack on the USS Maddox is what started the war, but really that was just like the sinking of the USS Maine in the Spanish-American war, an accident leading to bloodshed. Really the war was started for no good reason, covered up with "good" intentions, and countless atrocities happened as a result, such as the My Lai Massacre, and the side effects of napalm and agent orange.
My grandpa served 21 years in the U.S navy as a Navy Seal. He also served in this war for 7 years I beleive. He had seen a lot of war and experienced a lot of things traveling all around the world . But...
The one place he told me he would never go back to was Vietnam.
- In war, whichever side may call itself the victor, there are no winners, but all are losers.

This is the Vietnam war many have died and many were Americans helping the south of Vietnam if I'm sure. The war was the south of vietnam and north of Vietnam. so the south got help from U.S.A and they were helped until U.S.A. stopped bringing weapons and help to them. And at that time was 1975.
