    Welcome to Swinley Forest, 1,000 hectares of prime riding land in the sunny south of England. Okay, it's not the sunniest place in the world, but when compared to the rest of England it's not too shabby.
    Located just off highway M25 which circles London, Swinley is one of the best all-around riding centers in this part of the country with trails ranging from beginner-level to intermediate. Ollie and Brendan Fairclough (aka, Bren-Dog) have hit Swinley during a scorcher of a day by UK standards -- they're actually sweating -- and they are tearing up the trails. They even establish a new park challenge, a tabletop-to-tabletop transfer dubbed the Wilkins Leap.
    Director: Jacob Gibbins, Chris Seager
    Producer: Jacob Gibbins, Chris Seager
    Athletes: Olly Wilkins, Brendan Fairclough
    Sports: Mountain Biking

    We rode there on Sunday. I cant believe how badly the trail surface has worn away! 90% is like riding on cobbles and shake the hell out of you. just not fun any more! and the gully is no more, Im sure there must be some really cool local stuff hidden away. Lets hope they dont get the same building treatment as the jest.

      even worse 3 years on from your comment. Jump gully has been filled in, theres about 5 red trails and a couple blue thats any fun now. In the winter the surface is all compacted gravel so its like riding on marbles in the wet. New skills bit is off limits most of the time. Even on babymaker which is unrecognisable from a few years back people only ride half of it. Have to hand it to the people that spend time and effort repairing it and rebuilding it but it gets damaged faster than they can repair the place.

    The good: Amazing amount of trails in a small area. They've really worked at it.
    The bad: Crowded, mostly flat, carpark full of Freds and expensive, sh1t food, crowded, crowded, bracknell, m25,

      MikeThe Player they’re ok. I’m a local so I know it well. There’s a lot of boring sections that are best missed out, which will be difficult to know where and how if you’ve not been or aren’t going with someone who knows. Theres a few good marked trails but the best bits are off piste...

    why is there so many sick trails down south?

    • @Toastybear1
      @Toastybear1 Před 8 lety

      except- there aren't really any decent hills- i think its more about the population density and also, any even half decent sized bit of forest in the uk usually gets this treatment now :)

    • @kelvinfoote9897
      @kelvinfoote9897 Před 6 lety

      Talus20 Do you mean that the trails are actually I'll? ! Surely an inanimate object cannot become sick or I'll. How about inventing a new word for something which is brilliant,superb, amazing,fantastic, excellent,awesome, stupendous , spellbinding etc etc, instead of using an existing word to try to make it mean almost the opposite of what it actually means.

    • @lukew5555
      @lukew5555 Před 6 lety +2

      Come off it you knob, don't be such a pedant.

    • @kelvinfoote9897
      @kelvinfoote9897 Před 6 lety

      Luke Wanden What about my point? Don't you think it's stupid to totally reverse the meaning of a word and just follow on with the herd by using it, instead of coming up with a new word? There is such a thing as having your own mind and being an individual, you know. As a contender for UK pedant of the year, I feel the need to point out that you should have used a full -stop after 'knob' and started a new sentence, or used the conjunction 'and' inbetween.

    • @stgeorge6947
      @stgeorge6947 Před 6 lety +1

    The only problem I have had at Swinley are the twats who shout at you if you aren't travelling as fast as them and demand you go home because they think they own the place.
    I just go even slower. Tremendous fun. I'm sure half of them get 'roid rage.
