  • Join PGC Director Chad Songy as he breaks down how you can step up your leadership this season by improving your communication on the court.
Here are 5 ways we’re helping 150,000+ people learn how to “Think the Game” so they can gain an unfair advantage over their competition and how we can help you do the same:
    1. Join the PGC Coaching Club - Over 15,000 high school, college, NBA and WNBA coaches have become the coach they want to be by training with our expert coaches and mentors. If you’re a coach and you're new to PGC, start here…

    2. Become the Smartest Player on the Floor - Stop playing like everyone else on the court… Get 3 free videos that will help you immediately start scoring more easy buckets, make better decisions in the paint, and play bigger than your size.

    3. Join us at a PGC Camp - Join the over 11,000 dedicated players who attend PGC each year to discover the uncommon skills, leadership traits, and mindset needed to stand out and get noticed by coaches.

    PGC Basketball Camps:
PGC is where serious players train in the off-season. We teach players to think the game at a college and pro level and become leaders both on and off the court.
Thousands of players from middle school to college attend a PGC camp each year. Our camps are specialized for players at every level of the game, so no matter what level you play at right now, PGC will help you reach the next level.
We teach the game, not a group of skills specific to one position. Any player will benefit from a PGC camp - regardless of their position or skill level - as long as they are truly eager to learn the game.
More than 95,000 serious basketball players have trained with PGC in the off-season, and it’s where top NBA and college coaches send their own kids to learn to think the game.
Discover how to be a playmaker, lead your team, and run the show at pgcbasketball.com/.

I’m a great defender, but I also want to learn how to communicate properly. I stop talking when I am the only one talking cause it feels weird. I just need the confidence to orchestrate a defense.

Ball declaration is still valid - simple & clear...esp in transition.
    Other than that agree.

Totally agree. Sometimes you don't have time to say everything that is happening and you need quick, code words to communicate what you're doing. If you're entire team understands what "Ball" means on defense, then it's effective and clear. It doesn't really matter if the crowd understands what it means or if they are thinking "DUH, that's obvious".,

Saying "Ball" or "Help" or "Dead" IS NOT CHATTER.
Your teammates cannot ALWAYS see the Ball and their Mam an at all times. Bu they can still KNOW where the ball it or if the dribbler has picked up the ball in those instances when they have had to turn their heads where they cannot see the Ball or that the dribble is Dead. But if you are talking they will still KNOW where it is and what is happening.
Saying Help gives your on-ball defending teammate CONFIDENCE that you have their back so that they can play up on the ball knowing they have not been left alone on an island by some isolation clearout.
Your team defends DIFFERENTLY when the dribble is DEAD than when it is still LIVE. They defend differently when they know the ball is moving into the Corner from the Wing as opposed to the Top of the key from the Wing. Your team defends differently when they know if they get beat by the dribble that their is Help than they do if they know they are Alone.
    It is NOT just Chatter.
