In today's video, all of our hard work on the FK8 pays off.. we travel all the way to Laguna Seca to put the Type R to the test! We were able to land a really respectable lap time and get us in great standings for the upcoming race!

Laguna is one of my favorite tracks to race in sim
The transmission coming out of gear could be from the engine and trans tipping forward under hard breaking at turn 1. Ive been in the car during high lateral G's on a turn at Streets, which caused the transmission to tilt so much it led to a miss shift into first. The problem was solved with a solid mount on one side of the engine (this was the solution for a miata). Turn 1 at laguna is one of the most intense braking experiences I've had, so it wouldn't surprise me.

ya one track weekend i had issue with 2nd gear popping out too. Have a later model fk8 where the syncro issues should've been fixed. Not sure what the issue could be

Slow in, fast out. You're understeering a lot on the first and last turns. Use those brakes, trail brake into the turn and slowly feed in the loud pedal as you unwind steering angle. Could work a bit on your lines as well as you're early apexing often, remember, with trail braking on a higher power car with aero the less you bias yourself toward the geometric ideal apex. Instead you slow down a tiny bit more, trail brake, get all the turning done all at once and have the car almost pointed where you want it to go BEFORE your apex so you can straighten the steering wheel and let the FWD tires be all used for accelerating. There's a lot of time left and you'd do well hiring a pro racing driver to teach you and help fine tune the car.

The best tyres for what you're doing are michelin cup 2s dut, i know they're not your sponsors but try them off camera on a track you're used to and watch the difference

Good show. My only concern is your racing line at Laguna Seca. I’ll only say this. There’s a reason f1 drivers use simulators. Laguna Seca is in most racing simulator/ games. Muscle memory and practice beforehand would have help you use the whole track.
