My cat went missing for days when I was a teen, it broke my heart. I decided 1 day I was gonna look for him till it got dark, turned out I didn't have to look far or stay out long as I remembered where he liked to hide & that my neighbours had just put a load of junk under their porch, sootys hiding place.
I pulled loads of boxes out & found him curled up exhausted & mainly thirsty as it was a very hot summer. He was covered in pee bless him as he wasn't able to move, he snuggled into me while I got him home fed & gave him water & a few days later he was back to his usual loving goofy self. He'd been gone almost a week & my parents kept saying he'd gone off to die but I just knew he was alive. 1 of the best moments of my life was finding him alive & well 🙂💜

My cat, Big Man is my BEST friend, so I totally get how you felt. He is my little gift from God!
Most cats are not far away. We think they go miles but they are quite small and short so are often near home, well done to you for remembering his hiding place.

When I was a child, I had a German Shepherd that walked me to and from the bus stop. He carried my books in his mouth for me. One day, he didn't show up at the bus stop. I ran home to look for him, but he was gone. I was heartbroken. One year later, he showed up at the back door when Mom yelled out "Herbert, there is a bear at the door!". It was my beloved dog. He had been taken and chained and wore scars from those chains. I don't know how he freed himself, but he did and he returned home one year almost to the day he disappeared.
I am so sorry but so thankful your beloved Dog made his way back to you.

This touched me, makes me teary. I was never a fan of german shephards. My son in law had one he called Xena. She was old when I met her and I think that's why we bonded, we both had arthritis and a million body aches. When I couldn't sleep, which was most nights, I went out on the front porch and sat. She always came with me, even when she was hurting too. She sat with me and watched over me to keep me safe from coyotes. She wouldn't leave until I said it was time to go in, not even if my son in law called her, she waited for me. She comforted me when I cried and I grew to love her like no other. A few months after I moved, I got a call at 1:30 am from my son in law, Xena passed away. It has been 10 years and I am sitting here crying my eyes out trying to type this, she left a huge empty hole in my heart when she left and I will never forget her. Rest Xena, it won't be long and we can sit on the porch together again, I can't wait.

I saw a post where an ape who signed noticed one of the caretakers wasn't pregnant anymore and asked in sign where it was. It mourned with her when the lady signed that she lost it. You can't convince me they aren't sentient.

@B W there are people who think animals have no soul and have no idea of love or death. They think animals are to be utilized in work and science and their pain is irrelevant.
I think animals have more sympathy and understanding towards humans than some morons give them credit for. They (usually) take better care of their babies than humans and, here's the big one, they haven't unionized and killed all of us for the horrible things we do to them.

I found a bobcat cub in the woods. She was abandon because a hunter shot her mother. I took her home and raised her to two years old and release her back into the wild. She came back to say thank you 6 months later.

My family and I have raised orphaned baby opossums and raccoons besides having our own cats and dogs. They each have their own lovely personalities and they have love in their hearts. I don't understand why people feel the need to kill and harm God's beautiful creatures. It breaks my heart, but there are wonderful people out there too who help injured, abused, orphaned and abandoned animals. God bless them.
I have been feeding Raccoons, Skunks and possums for year's. Raccoons are amazing and so intelligent, they take treats from my hand as gentle as any dog would. My Husky has gotten so used to them and the skunks that they will often allow him to eat and play even with the babies.

My cat was missing for 77 days. I searched for him every single day. Finally, animal control found him and posted his pic online. You can bet I was on their doorstep in minutes. We were so delighted to find each other.
I have seen something like the elk and the photographer.
While hunting on our property, i saw a doe come out from the trees a short distance from me. I was bow hunting and she was too close for me to raise my bow without spooking her, so i sat still.
She looked at me, walked over, and stuck her nose right in my face and sniffed me and then calmly walked away.
I stopped hunting after that.

I take my dog everywhere as Im homeless in a van..when I drive he watches everything n everywhere..I swear he could find his way to all our spots or even try to go back to our old house...sadly, hes old n not sure he would do well on a journey, even a somewhat short one..
Watched a male elk flirting with a horse-he was using his rack to tear out grass and toss to the horse on the other side of its fence!

I've seen so many videos of humans making music just for the benefit of their critters. Elephants, donkeys, cows and so many others generally seem to enjoy music and often chime in!

I have a gift because there is not much wildlife here But I had a 14 deer in my herd, turkeys, raccoons which used to sit with my feral cats but I could walk among the deer and they weren’t scared of me. But don’t let anyone else try it the deer would scatter, I left the turkeys and raccoons and bears alone.
I had a pack of coyotes and a few wolves I put in my Native American music with wolves howling and it was so awesome.
I like animals more than most people lol
How some people abuse or kill these Animals is just Mind Boggling. If you don't like Animals instead of hurting or killing them, just don't go near them. That way KARMA won't come knocking on your door.
Right? You don't have to like animals or be an animal person but it takes a special kind of sick to go out of your way to hurt them (or anything really, this goes for people too). 💜
Think twice before getting a pet cat. They kill many small wild animals.
Harming or killing without reason is not acceptable.
But in self defense or hunting for food is fine.
As long as the Animals hunted isn't going extinct of course.
The sad thing is that people who kill or hurt animals don't understand that animals and us loving them are very much part of God's plan for us to grow on this earthly plain. And that they have as much right to live as humans do. Animals also have souls and you wil have to see and hear about your cruelty during the life review!

Animals don't have agendas, just unconditional love in its purest form.
They also eat each other. Keep your guard up.
Humans ARE animals. That's what too many arrogant and ignorant people seem to forget. But that's what makes us far worse. We're the only animals that can control our instincts and go against them. We have the ability to choose. We have no natural desire to kill (there's a reason most people who are violent have mental issues), yet so many of us still do. We know other animals feel. We know they love, fear for their lives, etc., and yet, because we think they taste good or their fur/skin "looks good," we continue to murder them. Even when we don't kill the animals themselves for selfish reasons, we destroy their habitats. Humans are a plague on this earth, yet so many act like we're superior to all other creatures.

I once had a green leaf bug land on me- and I fed it some spinach by hand. I took it and put it on a bush downstairs.
I came out the next day and called for it- and would you believe it saw me and flew up and landed on the stairs right next to me? True story.

Earth is a wonderful place that is filled with love and beauty. This video has placed me in good spirits. Kind of like a 'oness" with the planet. Animals have always been my go-to when i need company.

My dad and I once lost his German shorthaired pointer on a hunting trip easily 40 miles from home,after 2 weeks of looking for her we decided we'd try one last time before we gave up,after church that sunday on the day of our last excursion to find her ahe was sitting on our front porch happy and hungry.
Animals, with emphasis on dogs and cats, have a remarkable in-built ability to circumvent maps and all of that nonsense that humans need to find their way around and can hunt down and regroup with humans who they have adopted no matter the distance. One of my Aunts moved from Boston to Arizona, and the cat - which was missing on the day of the journey was lost to her ... or so we thought. Two and a half years later (and remember cats don't live much beyond nineteen human years) the cat turned up in her front yard. We checked the cat, it was indeed hers as confirmed by the microchip. The animal had crossed most of the United States to get to her. That was simply mind-blowing. The cat lived for another six years and then, I'm sorry to say, finally passed away due to old age and health issues.
Praise the lord jesus. Good story.
Don't underestimate the mammals, they show us they have feelings of love.

This is the one day the CZcams algorithm does something right. I needed this today.
I've been lucky enough to hand feed a wild deer in Yellowstone, just walked up to me, black bears in Yosemite, there must have been 20-30 bears & cubs being fed junk food from 30-40 cars that stopped to view them, wild squirrels at Mt Hood, and a large bird flew down and landed on my shoulder to take the cookie I was raising into the sky, also at Mt Hood. These all happened back in the 70's on family vacations, but in 1990, I took my mom, and girlfriend (now wife of 30 years) to a family reunion in Washington, and stopped at Mt Hood having related this story to my girlfriend, and I'll be darned if the same exact experience happened to her as well. Nature is really weird, and wonderful!

@@brahmburgers I think some of us just have something animals trust, and then again, birds are opportunistic. lol I lived up in some hills for a time, and this raven befriended me because I was feeding it. I had to stop as he wasn't potty trained and left a mess on our front porch. 😁
You people who feed wild animals are directly responsible for them becoming disinhibited to being around humans, and you should know-those animals often end up being euthanized because of that. It isn’t cute or kind. Keep your distance and they get to stay alive.

Back then nobody was concerned, or knew anything about the consequences of humanizing wildlife. However, your standing there eating a cookie, and a deer just walks up, you're going to give that deer a cookie! If you're sitting there eating a cookie, and a wild squirrel lands on your knee, you're going to give him a cookie. If you're standing there eating cookies, and a bird flies down to get one, you're going to feed it cookies. Under certain circumstances I don't think there's much harm, but in large part, I agree, there is. ✌
There is something to be said about animals that Humans have yet to figure out...They don't discriminate. They just love whom they love. Maybe there is a lesson here but i doubt humans will listen...Sad... :-((

My friends brother took her dog, Morty, to Florida with him, (jerk) and 3 months later she opened her front door and he was laying there waiting on her. I always loved Morty.

We had a labrador that would go and get our news paper every morning and we didn't teach him that either.One day he started to grab everyone else's also.

We too had Golden Retrievers. (B.J. & Buddy) Hubby took BJ out front as a "teenager". Taught him to get our Sunday paper. He was rewarded very well. Next Sunday, hubby let him go out by himself. After a bit.... I remarked, he's been out there awhile, maybe ran off or something horrible happened to him. Hubby opened the door and stepped out. OMG, BJ had a minimum of 17 Sunday paper bundles. They were all over our driveway! We put them all in baskets, attached them on ea. Side of BJ across his back. Hubby put a leash on BJ and they went door to door to inquire whose they were and returned them! The neighbors thought it was cute, and were thankful.

All very impressive. My list would have had KoKo as #1. She interacted with 2 different species and able to communicate with us on a level matched by no other. She proved herself to be a very kind soul.

Since the elk & sitting happened in the Smoky Mountains near me, we were all privy to the truth. The man--against all warning signs--got out of his car to get a closer photograph. Unfortunately, because the elk interacted with a human, it had to be euthanized to guarantee no further interactions with humans. Too bad the man was not euthanized.
Yes, This is true. I read about that poor elk having to be destroyed because of that idiot. Apparently there were signs all over the place telling people NOT to get out of their cars etc. He did anyway. The elk paid the price for his stupidity.
That is stupid of them to do that. Euthanize the ones who euthanized the elk.
WHY would they euthanize the Elk simply for "having a moment"?! What HARM does that do? What's the rationale here, that it'll try to have ANOTHER moment in the future with another human?!!
Wasn't bc of THAT photog..it was bc t he elk was always doing this n at times getting aggressive so for the safety of other animals, humans, and itself, they euthanized him..😢

Never thinking beyond that one mantra. Just because he wanted a photograph up close and personal. Take a picture at a safe distance and have it enlarged. You can do anything with photoshop. Truly amazing, but I'm not surprised. Animals have such intelligence, such instincts and can display such empathy for humans and other species who encounter dangerous incidents.
My grandma had squirrels and chipmunks follow her around the whole time we were out in Washington DC.
i'm friends with the birds in my neighborhood. they peek at me from the bushes outside my window. had a weird feeling of being watched while doing dishes. looked up, and finches were perched outside the window, watching. my favorite is the crow, who sit above my skylight when i eat, begging for treats by tapping the glass with his beak! who's watching whom?

At 2:25 the bull elk isn’t bonding with the photographer sitting on the ground, the elk is displaying aggression. Google “Elk Attacks Man in USA” and anyone can see that it’s not a friendly encounter, the elk is pushing its antlers at the man who has to keep looking down to avoid losing an eye from the elk’s antlers.
We had a big tabby cat when I was around 8 yrs old. He was special to everyone. He went missing one day and was gone for 2 years then one day just walked up in our yard. I thought I was seeing things.

Not a wild elk but we have a video of my nephew at about 5 wrestling with his pet buck "Wucy" he didnt know bucks and does lol. They were total friends. Wucy would wait outside all day waiting for him to come and run around the yard.

The octopus wasn't shy. Someone was shining a bright light into what is usually total darkness. But hr/she does look adorable.
We have possums living in our backyard. They sleep in our cabbage palm and come out out night. I sit outside from 9pm to 11pm and hear them, see them. They have even walked over my feet. They go in the front yard too. My husband noticed a "game trail" on the side of the house.
All this animals are so adorable...😃🥰❤🙏🏻

That elk wasn't showing kindness. Your not supposed to bow your head like that towards sheep, goats, deer or elk. Because that's challenging them to fight. That elk came close to headbutting that guy.

Imagine my surprise woo see the story of the 2 boys fishing on the Warrior River! I loved fishing down in Alabama along the Warrior river & the Tennessee rivers, but I’ve nevtseen Cats swimming such a distance in water so deep! I imagine because they were so young they were fearless, but it bothers me wondering how those kittens ended up on that island? I’m thinking someone threw the Mama cat out in that area & she could have been pregnant. But these little guys are extremely lucky that they lived long enough & were unafraid to swim towards people in a boat! Obviously I wondered what happened to the others? And I’m so thrilled they were both adopted! Nice work Boys! 💋💕🕯
It is strange behavior for a wild born kitten. I believe they were dropped off there from people in a boat and when they got hungry enough from not knowing how to hunt, they swam to people in a boat. They were completely unafraid of the people. No wild born kitten is like this.

Last summer we had church service outside due to Covid. When the choir started singing a crow perched on a light post and watched us sing. It sat there the entire time just watching and watching. When we fished our 3 songs it flew away. I believe it was enjoying the music.

Lol, I bonded with a wild deer!! That deer saw him as a threat and was headbutting to challenge the man. The man remained calm and avoided a fight.

Animals are known to love music. A CZcams video is available of cows coming out from pasture to come listen to a couple of elderly musicians playing together, when here they come, one by one, then a group of about six to ten cows stand in front of them, as if a concert they were attending, enjoying them play. This is an Awesome video and I recommend looking it up. Playing til the cows come in!🐮

I am from the generation that saw the original, "The Incredible Journey". The thinking with the human voices , I found too distracting. I am glad they never did that with Lassie.
It was also a book first; the book is much better and I recommend reading it.
I wish people would point out that the 'heart melting' point with the elk and the photographer wasn't actually heart warming. The elk ended up being put down by the other rangers because it was rutting with the person and kept trying to hit them with the antlers. They feared it would do the same with others passing through the park reserve, so sadly the 'touching' picture doesn't tell the full story. Aw geez now I feel really bad for the Elk. They could've attempted to lure it back into the forest far enough where it might not cause issues with other people. Rutting is just a part of his nature
@@JewelWildmoon From what I understand when I went to find out info on it awhile back, this wasn't the first time. Where the video shows the two interacting 'gently', the real video the Elk actually gets more agressive per say. not mean, but he keeps sparring harder and harder with the photographer which if it was anyone else it could have seriously injured someone. So because the Elk had done this multiple times they made the call that it had to be put down as it had no fear of humans and could potential hurt itself or others.
He wasn't letting the photographer move away and it took them speeding a car over to chase off the elk.
I wished they wouldn't have put it down, it ws a case of wrong place wrong time. I just dislike people use the click of 'Oh how cute it is' when it wasn't cute, the guy could have been really hurt and the elk was put down for being a young buck doing what he does best.

I am also from Canada (Ottawa), and I am glad to hear that there are other animal lovers here. I was vegetarian for over ten years because I couldn't eat animals. I had to start eating them again due to medical necessity (my iron level was only 12, it should've been 80-100), but if I could be a vegetarian again, then I would!

Cats can swim, they just don't like water. I have seen this before and have even had a few. Believe it or not they had gone fishing. Just don't try to give them a bath.
I tried to bathe my oldest cat like twice in her life. Unless I acquire hawk taming gloves and a full suit of chain mail and armor I am never going to try again 🤣

The elk was going to attack the guy. There's a whole real video about it. The guy was actually being irresponsible taking pictures. This video is BS.

The Dude knew not to move. They’ve encroached upon his Territory & he’s defending it. They don’t fool around. 💋💕🕯
I think they ended up killing that elk because of it.
the elk was a young one, and it definetly was not about to hurt anything..... it was being playful, yes it could have accidentally hurt him but that was not the case... and yes it was later tracked down and killed for no damn reason because they said that those few minutes of human interaction had "tamed" the animal..... these elk where released to try to re-establish their population back here in the Smoky Mountains.... but they definetly could have handled the situation better by transporting it deeper in the mountains and not killing it for no reason......

Of course they do, they're not distracted with smartphones, news, jobs, school, money, taxes, where to go for holiday, fashion, the car breaking down, decorating the house, mowing the lawn...and all the rest of the everyday rubbish we humans put between ourselves and nice feelings.

When I was a little kid I was given a choice to go to Disney Land or Gator Land. I chose Gator Land because I was always infatuated with reptiles and cuz people dying of heat exhaustion walking around in their forced Disney fursona trying to take a picture with me while I wait 3 hours to ride something I could have ridden at my local carnival, didn't really appeal to me.
Even though I was supposed to be happy, I felt alone. Mom and dad divorced, I had to change schools so many times, had to say goodbye to friends I just made over and over again. I went outside from the hotel room cuz it was mid-day. I saw this pond and thought it was pretty so I sat on the grass and just took in the silence and the beauty. I felt something really big and kinda hot nudge up against me. Without looking I put my hand on it and pet it, knowing it was an animal. I looked over and saw the biggest alligator I've ever seen laying down next to me. I saw his eyes flick the membrane over from time to time. I saw the teeth. I could smell the meat clinging to them that must have been stuck there for a few days now. I saw the scars all over his body. I kept petting him. He made a noise I learned to mimic. A gutteral clicking with a sort of hiss. I used different combinations of that sound like conversation. He lowered his head to the ground and we both resolved to take a nap. I climbed up on his back and it was the first and last time I ever truly felt safe and completely at peace.
I heard my name being called and woke up to see my cousin rounding the corner (she was always a Karen btw) I woke up more, stretched and yawned and really just liked where I was at the moment. But my cousin was going to keep shouting and get my dad's attention and I didn't want that so I said my goodbyes through my clicking and hissing, gave him a hug and pet him one last time before I climbed off his back and walked over to my cousin who was in hysterics.
I had to be about 12 at that time. I'm 30 now and I still remember that feeling of complete serenity. I still have a special bond with reptiles, but that was the most beautiful moment I can remember.
