Yes the good looking boy play beutiful football.
The guy chose to join us when we were literally in the dumps. It takes character to willingly come in with a determination to change things and make an impact.
The guy is an absolute artist in my books. Definitely has leadership capability.
I think both parties chose and needed each other. He needed a club to settle and play regularly because he was wasting away at Madrid. Arsenal needed a low key quality AM because they couldn't afford or approach more popular names, having failed to qualify for Europe. In the end both parties are benefitting from the deal.

The more interesting question is how the hell a team like real Madrid mismanaged this man in such a way that the failed to get his best performances out if him which eventually led to a major devaluation.. when every other team he has played for got the best of him?!
He is likely to double in value by the start of next season.. after moving from real Madrid to arsenal. How does that happend?
The fact he left Madrid of all places, at a time when the likes of mbappe & maybe Haaland are likely both heading that direction, says alot too. And the fact His role model is Cesc Fabregas.. all this means, he ain't leaving Arsenal anytime soon.

I'm so happy we got Ødegaard. He was considered to be one of the best youngsters in history when he was 16 but just floated around loans with Madrid. I think he needed someplace to call home for him to truly shine. I'm glad we're giving him that home ❤️
I always thought he would have been better off going somewhere he could get starts right away. Knocking off Modric was always a bit of a high bar, you might say. Still, he was developing on those loans. To Sociedad in particular. He was fantastic the year he played for them.
As a Madrid fan I remeber when he came here to La Cantera, I hope he becomes the best in the world and then decides to come back again!
Yeah as a Norwegian I can tell you it hurt to watch him get wasted at Real Madrid. 2-3 years completely wasted.
When I say "completely" then that's relatively speaking. His de facto development got postponed maybe 1-1.5 years.

Sadly enough an Everton fan, its depressing. I started watching other teams for the cheer entertainment of it, Ødegaard in Arsenal did that for me. Not him all alone obviously, but he was the missing part, constituting an entirely new whole. What a player; massive talent, nurtured by a humble personality, of a creative and intelligent mind. This guy is more than a player, he's an artist.

Liverpool fan here. Not here to kick you while youre down, but to say that i agree with you 100%. Everytime he has the ball, you feel the magic and that something unpredictable can happen. Not knowing what but knowing that it can be spectacular becuase he sees gaps and spaces even we cant from the screens and the stands. Arsenal has become my favourite team to watch besides my own.

I have admired Oddegard from a long time. Being a RM fan, I hate him leaving us but being an arrogant man myself, I love the fact that he walked from one of the best club of all time to Arsenal, to do what he was destined to. Play football.

Well, I don't think it's arrogance with him. He just loves to play football and you kept him waiting too long. I thought that would happen, tbh. I really wanted him to go to a second tier club like Dortmund, Roma, West Ham etc. Actually I thought he was a perfect fit in Sociedad too. Just somewhere he could start games in the key role he clearly merits.

@@mistertee4413 I am Norwegian and no Arsenal fan. I think it is great with Ødda in Arsenal and his success there but atm Man City is the more powerful. Man City is one of the favorites to sign Haaland. A scerario for Norwegians and Man City fans would be Bobb, Ødda and Haaland. Norwegians would like them to develop relations for the national team. Maybe Newcastle picks up Haaland. Money talks. Personally I do have a feeling that Real Madrid sign Haaland. Maybe Haaland asks Ødda for advice about Madrid.

The first thing I did in fifa one season was transfer Ødegaard to arsenal then he got sent there on loan the following winter. so much fun to watch. Part of making arsenal plays football the gunner way again.

Not since Santi Cazorla have I seen a player who carries the ball as well as Odegaard... Santi was a bit more gifted due to being ambidextrous, but Odegaard is more physically imposing as he works as hard as a box to box midfielder, but has the elegance of a 10... He is basically what Ozil would be if he worked hard.
This is all Ozil lacked, work rate!!
I feel like they move the ball the same way. It's rarely flashy when they go past an opponent, and they kinda just move the ball away from them all the time, and it just looks so effortless lol.
His touch is the most beautiful thing i have seen on a pitch since Bergkamp... i am in love with the football this guy can produce
A lot of his key passes have resulted in missed chances, bcoz the players around him are not on his same intelligence level. Once our youngsters like saka, martinelli, etc, gain more experience, intelligence, understanding patterns of play, then they'll start to score more goals. Once our new striker & odegaard himself starts scoring more goals, then we'll truly become a force to reckon with, not only in England, but in Europe as well...
hes level of TIkiTaka even our own home grown youngstars have alot to learn from him, there situations you see Saka, Martinelli or ESR star stuck by the fact the ball has found them even Laca to be honest

Not gonna lie, Martin has been THE finding of english football. Yes, everybody knew him because of the circunstances he was involved in, of debuting for Madrid at the age of 15, because of his time at Real Sociedad. What nobody knew though, is the extent of this guy's talent. He was deemed a flop early, and now, along with KDB, he's the best midfielder in the league. Amazing piece of business by our club.

IMO Ødegaard reminds me so much more of Iniesta than Bruno does. His movements, twists and turns and not to mention the passing. Almost a carbon copy. He must have been one of his idols.
