Beef pepper steak- a popular stir fry all over the world. The technique I'm sharing will guarantee the beef turns out amazingly tender- no matter what cut of beef you're using. It will taste like very high-quality beef. Stop ordering this dish from your local takeout and make your friend and family a nice meal! It only takes around 10 minutes after you marinate it- it's so easy!

*ALL INGREDIENTS FOR THE BEEF PEPPER STEAK:*
*FOR THE BEEF MARINADE*
- 0.5 pound of beef
- 1 tbsp of light soy sauce [Pearl River Bridge Natural Brewed Light Soy Sauce: geni.us/wABlLXf]
- 1 tbsp of Chinese cooking wine [Shaoshing Rice Cooking Wine: geni.us/3hdHAM]
- some freshly ground pepper
- 1/4 tsp of baking soda.
- 1 tsp of cornstarch
*FOR THE PEPPER STEAK SAUCE*
- 1 tbsp of oyster sauce [1æ±€ćèæČč] [Lee Kum Kee Panda Brand oyster sauce: geni.us/P0u6]
- 1 tbsp of light soy sauce [1æ±€ćçæœ]
- 2-3 tbsp of water [2-3æ±€ćæ°Ž]
- 1 tsp of corn starch [1è¶ćççČ]
- 1 tsp of sugar [1è¶ćçł]
- 1 tsp of freshly ground black pepper [1è¶ćæ°éČçé»èĄæ€]
- Some salt to taste. [äžć°æźç]
*VEGETABLES FOR STIR FRY*
- some green and red pepper
- some onion slices
- 1 tbsp of minced garlic.
*HOW TO MAKE BEEF PEPPER STEAK STIR FRY*
-First, cut your beef into thin slices.
-Marinate it with 1 tbsp of light soy sauce and 1 tbsp of Chinese cooking wine, you can use regular rice wine too. Some freshly ground pepper, 1/4 tsp of baking soda, 1.5 tsp of corn starch
- Set your beef aside for at least 30 minutes. While waiting we can make the sauce.
- 1 tbsp of oyster sauce, 1 tbsp of light soy sauce, 1/4 cup of water, 1 tsp of corn starch, 1 tsp of sugar, 1 tsp of freshly ground black pepper and some salt to taste. Because soy sauce already has a lot of sodium, donât put a lot. Just a little pinch should be fine.
- For the vegetables, I prepared some green and red pepper cut into big chunks. Some onion and 1 tbsp of minced garlic.
- Heat up your wok on the highest level possible for 10 seconds and add about 1 tbsp of vegetable oil. Add in your beef. Let the beef fry for 15-20 seconds on each side. Keep turning IT every 15 seconds until the beef becomes brown. Take it out and set it aside.
- Add about 1 tbsp more oil into the same wok and throw in all your vegetables. Stir fry this for about 2 minutes.
- When you see the onion becoming transparent turn the heat to low. Add the beef back into the wok along with the sauce. Mix it quickly. Soon you will see the sauce getting thicker. Turn it off. Take it out and you are done.

I made this dish and it was delicious, i am an African American man who loves chinese food....the instructions were easy to follow to boot....IF I CAN DO IT ANYBODY CAN....Thanks a bunch
10/10. My wife, who does not like the taste or the texture of beef thought this was outstanding. The preparation took longer than the cooking and it is melt in your mouth tender. Thank you!
I cannot praise this recipe enough! I make this at least once a week. Seriously, it tastes better than ANY pepper steak I've ever ordered from takeout. I'm hooked.
It this is better than anything you have ever had before than your accustom to eating cardboard boxes!
You know the recipe is fire when you watch the video over a thousand times! đ„đ„
Just made this with the souped up wok I recently ordered. Very happy with the wok and the dish was the best Iâve ever had. Thanks so much for the recipes!
I've made it last night for some friends. They really liked it :) It's not a lot of work and good result. I was most suprised at how well the baking soda trick worked
This title was spot on! I followed your recipe and it was by far the best pepper steak I have ever had. So tasty! Your instructions were clear, simple and easy to follow
I've made this recipe many times in the souped up wok and it never ceases to please my family. Love this channel!
My boyfriend and I have been trading your recipes back and forth. We love your recipes, both how easy they are and how wonderful they taste. I just made your pepper steak and It's heavenly. We're both so glad you decided to have this channel
Love that you explain things. I learned two things today: baking soda tenderizes meat and I should add the cornstarch to a marinated meat after all it has absorbed the liquid to seal it.
I learned the same two things lol
@KingChrisM KingChrisM but it changed the Taste of the Beef.
Thanks a tonne for this recipe!!
I'm huge beef addict and this turned out amazing!
When I served this to my friends, I made up a fake story, like, some ancient Chinese hunters came up with this recipe to cook deer meat right in the forest. Because it's so easy to cook blah blah...
They loved this dish and now they treat me like a mystery chef ;)
Thank you so much. May the universe bring all good things to you
Cheers from Qatar!
Made this last night, absolutely amazing and tender! Thank you so much!
Just cooked it tonight,, it was brilliant. Iâm in the good books at home.đ
Made this and it was so easy. I prepped everything ahead of time. I even made up the sauce and put it into a pint mason jar with a lid and left it on my kitchen counter. When I got ready to use the sauce I shook it up and then poured it into the vegetables and beef. This was absolutely delicious served over rice.
You're simply the best, all your videos are amazing. Thank you for being such a masterful chef and sharing.
I made this recipe today and it was amazing! I only used the marinade for the beef (I already had a black pepper sauce left in my fridge from last week) The beef came out so amazingly juicy and tender. Using cornstarch and baking soda definetly is a good idea. The dish is very well complemented with big chunks of green pepper and onion. Together with a bowl of basmati rice me and my family had a great dinner. Thank you very much!
I just made this and Iâd have to say it turned out great love your videos!
I found this video about 2 years ago and have been making it often ever since! Everyone has loved it. Thank you so much!! In fact, making it tonight again!
These are the best comments to see- thank you for taking the time to comment. Glad you and everyone enjoys it =)

I made this for my family and my dad, usually so critical of my cooking for once didn't say anything, meaning he liked it very much. I did too, such a simple recipe yet so good. Thanks so much!!
I made this recipe as instructed and it did come out amazing. Thank you so much for the recipe.đ
You are simply amazing! I've saved so many of your videos I can't count them all! I'm anxiously awaiting delivery of my new carbon steel wok next week so I can get started (yes, I'll season the wok properly before I start cooking). Keep the great videos coming, and thank you for sharing them!
I am so happy with my carbon steel wok. After the initial seasoning, I season it a little before every use. Which is basically what she is doing here.
No other You Tube food expert makes me taste the food in my mind like your channel. I used to record every Yan Can Cook episode, but nothing he made ever made me hungry watching like your videos. 1,000 Thank Yous for this channel.

We had this for lunch. It was so delicious. Thank you for the good recipe. Everyone enjoyed. I made 1lb which is twice more rhan the recipe. It was bit salty for me. so I may omit salt next time.
You are a pleasure to watch and your recipes and technique makes cooking less daunting! The baking soda tip is priceless! Thank you. And, you have a lovely smile, voice and personality.
Made this a few times so good all your recipes are easy to follow, easy to adjust to my familyâs taste, thank u đ
I like ur cooking it's easy and simple I will try soon
Mandy, I followed your recipe exactly (except made it 3 times the amount), but omitted the added salt (because the Kung Pao Chicken was a little too salty), and it was WONDERFUL! The beef I used was top loin, and I put it in the freezer for about 20 minutes to firm up to make it easier to cut very thin slices. My wife loved it too, and especially loved the sauce. We have several Asian markets in our uniiversity town of Bloomington, Indiana, so it is fairly easy to find ingredients. The problem is finding high quality ingredients, so I have to discover what brands are good and what are not. You are a great teacher and inspiration! èŹèŹ
So happy to know that you tried my recipes and you and your wife love it so much. If you want to buy good quality ingredients, maybe I can help. But it is hard to see without pictures. If you have any questions, you can email me: SoupedUpRecipes@gmail.com
John G Lee Kum Kee or Haitian soy sauce and oyster sauce are usually used in Chinese families

Another great recipe. You cut the meat across the fibers instead of in the same direction. That is important to make the meat tender. Your knife skills are very good.
I enjoy your easy to understand explanations and yummy recipes!

I knew about the corn starch, but not the baking soda. Great tip! The beef here in the Philippines is very tough; it needs all the help we can give it ha ha
Maybe it's an old cow...hahaha im from the Philippines too.
Tito Tim Travels if you have access to supermarkets such aa South Supermarket you can find imported tender beef with different cuts
@@pinkrosevlog477 Beef from grass fed native cows in Philippines is tough indeed.
Native Chicken and Pork have the same textures too, although they do taste good. Masarap!!
@@abrahamdsl Very true. I love the Japanese, Korean Beef and Pork Barbecue restaurants of Manila.
