    I've run this light through a spectrometer and had some very disappointing results. I would no longer recommend this light, as once broken in it has a tested CRI of 95, and more importantly an R9 value of only 81 (which is the colour spectrum most important for skin tones). It sits at the bottom of my testing for the skin tones rating as such.

    Sorry about the serious case of CZcams Face in the thumbnail. Just trying it out. Hopefully I won’t get greatly rewarded for it 😂

    Love that look away and sucking of the teeth at 12:04. Just seems like "what was I talking about...oh I remember"

    Thanks for the nice and detail review of the SR light. I’m looking a light on that range of price and also saw the Godox Litemons 150 on Amazon but try to find any review of it on CZcams and there’s none… cero…nada of the Godox yet. So I will wait your review and comparison with the Smallrig light.

      Yeah, if I manage to find time it looks like I might get in first. It’s a great performer for the size and price.

    I can’t find where to get the “optional” battery mount for the small rig 120b. Where’d you find it/what’s the product number?

      Part number is RA V1 and yeah, it looks pretty hard to find right now 🤔

    Thanks for the review. About how large a Bowen's mount softbox would be feasible given the issue with the handle? 25 in? 36 in?

    • @WesPerry
      @WesPerry  Před 2 lety +2

      The one I have that was sagging it was 40” with a grid on it as well, so Quite heavy. 25 would be no problem at all

    For the Litemons 150D and 150BI (or any light really) is it worth giving up a little power from the daylight version to go with the bicolor? Would going to a 200W be overkill for most?

    • @WesPerry
      @WesPerry  Před 2 lety +1

      For me, I’d take the hit for sure. But it all depends on how much power you need for your particular task. Varies greatly depending on ambient lighting, light control, and modifier type/size.

      Think the 150 bi color would have been powerful enough on your client shoot example in your 150D video from today?

    • @WesPerry
      @WesPerry  Před 2 lety +1

      I highly suspect the 150Bi uses more power than the 150D, since the D doesn’t actually reach its power rating 190W. Also, the Bi would likely be slightly brighter in the mid range around 4000-4600K, but dimmer at the edges, 3000 and 6000K

    • @ericgrayphoto

      Okay, I found data info on Godox’s site. It looks like the LA150D is 7030 lux at 5600K and the LA150Bi is 5080 lux at 5600K (both bare bulb).

      I’ll have to look that up as well but I’m out right now. Does it say anything about brightness at different colour temps?

    Can you use a xlr mic cable to extend distance from power supply?

    • @WesPerry
      @WesPerry  Před 2 lety

      Yes and no. Yes it will work. No, they’re not made to carry that kind of current so it’s not really a safe idea 😏
      I’ll have to do then numbers on it to be sure when I’m get home. But the Litemons might be able to, since it operates on 48V, making for a lot less current (and no external battery capability). But the RC120 uses lower battery voltage, so higher current.

      @@WesPerry thanx, can you include xlr cable usage possibility in one of your future videos? I have amaran 200d and it uses 48v if I'm not mistaken

    • @WesPerry
      @WesPerry  Před 2 lety +1

      Okay I crunched the numbers and XLR is rated for higher current than I realized (15A), but the unit will pull 11, so that might be pushing it for extended use over a longer one at least. The current rating of an XLR was intended for speakers, which would be using pulses of power, while this can hold 11A for hours if you want. Conversely the Litemons is only about 3.5A, so a much safer option for that particular configuration.

    • @WesPerry
      @WesPerry  Před 2 lety

      I’ll give it a try in the Litemons video.
