Zion Williamson finished a layup in transition with 03.8 left to give the New Orleans Pelicans a 114-113 lead as they held on to defeat the San Antonio Spurs. Zion Williamson (33 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists) and CJ McCollum (21 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists) led the Pelicans as Devin Vassell (28 points, 5 3PT), Victor Wembanyama (16 points, 14 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 blocks), and Jeremy Sochan (15 points, career-high 16 rebounds) led the Spurs in the loss. It's nuts to me that this 6'6" guy can just finish around a 7'4" guy like he's not there. I know Wemby did block him a few times, but you'd think Zion would have struggled more due to the 10 inches of height difference. People always talk about Zion's athleticism and strength. But what really amazes me is his touch.

I’m the biggest fan Zion since he was in high school. Two months ago he looked fat and out shape. This Man has lost weight since then. Looks quicker and explosive 🧨!!!! He wants to be Dominant. I'm a big fan of Zion and happy to see him thriving, but I remember thinking he was gonna be the best dunker ever in the league, and I'm surprised that he actually might be the best lay-upper of all time.
He could dunk more but he doesn’t need to he’s preserving himself and if he gets back into shape like it looks like he slowly is he’ll be like duke Zion again He just needs to play smart and probably not to many minutes

People forget how dominant Zion is in the paint. They like to make fun of his weight… but this guy could be the next Lebron when he brushes up is passing and 3 point shooting.
He’s definitely a solid passer, not Lebron level lol but pretty good. I agree he has potential with the three pointer though, just needs to start shooting it consistently. I think he can be a better version of Charles Barkley if he reaches his potential. Won’t be that level of rebounder (although he does needs to improve that) but is more athletic, can pass similarly, and hopefully can get that three ball down, which Chuck was unable to do.

I really enjoy watching Zion play. His opponents play him for the drive, but he drives anyway and destroys them. I've really never seen a player like that before; even MJ would just take the jumper if you backed off him five feet. Embiid feasts on jump shots when defenders play him for the drive. Not Zion....😅
