- This is my video compilation of every game perfected in Rhythm Heaven or Rhythm Tengoku Gold (DS) on the japanese version, playing on my 3ds capture device. This is the second game of the Rhythm Heaven series, and the first game released outside of Japan.
This game also extensively uses the touch screen, the main actions being "tap", "release", and "flick", which all work very responsively especially considering it's a rhythm game where accuracy matters the most. The layout looks flipped because the game is intended to be played with the DS held sideways, which works surprisingly well.
I highly recommend listening with headphones for the awesome bass line in all the songs!
I play on the Japanese version since I think the japanese cues and versions of the songs are incomparably better (I think most of the localization was mostly done pretty poorly, ESPECIALLY Fan Club and Dazzles). The actual gameplay and songs (vocals aside) are all the same though so it doesn't really matter.
This being my first rhythm heaven game, I have a little bit of nostalgia for this game and have a cartridge with 4 perfect files because I'm a freak (though I do strongly prefer fever). A perfect consists of not missing any inputs in any given game. The input themselves don't have to be perfect, as long as they aren't outright misses. Failing a perfect attempt is indicated by the P in the upper-left corner disappearing and a failure sound effect.
After getting a gold medal on a stage, eventually the game gives you 3 chances to get a perfect on that specific stage. Doing a no-miss run of a stage outside of this window of opportunity does not count as a perfect. If you fail all 3 attempts, you have to wait until the game gives you another chance for that stage. Though, if you gold medal every stage, the game will always provide some perfect opportunity no matter what, which is convenient.
Unfortunately (or fortunately for my sanity) the Rhythm Heaven series doesn't really track score until Megamix, so doing an "all perfect" video is the closest to a real score attack one can get in this game...
Fun fact - The stages I had the most trouble perfecting was Remix 1... The reason for this is that the fillbots section is actually timed wrong. You can't hit them on the right time or else that fails you, you have to be intentionally late lol.

Hearing that godforsaken noise causes me to flinch. Megamix's You Missed animation captures how I feel. I love this series, but I never have the courage to get all of the perfects.

I've never played a rhythm heaven game in my life. Before this video came up in my recommended I barely knew anything about it (besides the fact it was a rhythm game, obviously). Now both my brother and I are completely hooked and we've been looking for this game in all the local gamestores. Like I know this was probably meant to just be a fun and impressive video for people already familiar with the game but damn if it didn't couple as the most convincing piece of advertising I've ever seen. And for that, I tip you my hat.

I never got why some of them were a lot more precise than the others, like the one with the Easter Island heads. That one was just ridiculously precise. Out of the first two games I'd have to say that was my least favorite perfect to go for.

I love how this game goes from a super intense battle between two very determined drummer, to love lab.
What you did on both Space Soccer really blows my mind. It's hard for me to believe that Remix 1 was the hardest for you, it's not hard at all.
I have a tendency to miss the fillbot input for remix 1. It didn't take more than a few tries though.
Oh, maybe because the fillbots appear just when the rhythm goes faster ? Anyway, I still think it's weird when I know the entiere game and all its traps ^^

So I did a lot of testing on Remix 1. The reason it was really hard for me is because the Fillbots section is actually wrong. Hitting them on the perfect frame fails you. You have to be intentionally late which is bullshit. So basically, I had trouble with remix 1 because I was too good at the game.

This game is AWESOME! One of my first DS games, i played it when i was about 10/11 and loved it from start to finish. Getting the perfects was a bitch, i only missed a few of them but then my console broke :(

I remember how it took me years to get perfects on every single game. Like two years ago (probably more, gosh) I returned to the game and finally perfected it, with Rhythm Rally 2 as the last one to ace. An essential part of my childhood, seeing a gameplay is satisfying and refreshing!

Remix 8 is my favourite as well, mainly because the tempo is gradually getting faster over the course of the song. I have played this game so long that I can perfect the last section on muscle memory alone, and it’s really satisfying doing it.
My favourite thing in rhythm games in general is being able to zone out and play perfectly without even realising, kinda like Ultra Instinct Goku in DBS.

let me just say i didnt know about any of the levels past the remix 1. i think my mind has been completely blown to pieces.
Built to Scale... when I first played the game, I had no idea what I was doing. So I got a "Try Again". But right after that, I got a superb. Then a couple superbs later, it became my first perfect! Built to Scale 2, I was completely oblivious to how sequel games work.. So then I got a "Try Again" because I was overwhelmed by the amount of... widgets? But then right after that I got a superb. Then a while later, it was my first perfect on a sequel game. How nice.
