Yalta, Nizhny Novgorod, Borodino, Diveyevo, Rostov the Great, Tallinn, Mogilev, Oreanda, and Sevastopol. The material used in the film is from the Russian State Film and Photo Archive, the Russian State Archive of Phonodocuments, and private collections. The music is comprised of fragments from the favorite works of Emperor Nicholas II.

One of the best videos of the Romanov family I have seen. The footage excellent, the commentary amazing and the joyous footage made me smile. The crown prince was such a brave young man, the grand dutchesses all ladies, the whole family had dignity. RIP Romanov family.
Well put. And it’s universally understood why the Reds butchered the entire family. Doesn’t make it right at all. My theory is at the time most everyone expected them to kill the Tzar. Maybe event is wife too. But no way would they harm the five children.

The royal family & their story are ingrained into my own family's history. My maternal grandfather was, at one point in his life, in the Russian military. He was stationed outside the Czarina's bedroom & protected the family with his life. I was able to bring his military portrait to Antiques Roadshow where they authenticated it & actually televised my segment. Horrible tragedy that never should have ended as it did.

That is amazing! My paternal great grandfather and his wife worked inside the palace in St. Petersburg (not sure what it was called then or now). My great grandmother died just before the Revolution, great grandfather fled to Poland, and my grandfather (as a child) and his maternal grandmother came to America.
It was a shame that the Czar was not able to get his family out of Russia. I hope the people who murdered the Russian Royal Family, are rotting in Hell.

This family has such a special place in my heart. Despite their reign and social and political atmosphere during those years,their death was such a senseless tragedy. That could and should’ve been avoided.

The murder of this family was senseless and cruel to the highest degree. They could’ve simply been deposed and exiled. Those children paid the ultimate price for doing nothing more than being born.

My sister and I have the book; we buy it for friends so that they too can know the truth and learn from the humble longsuffering of St. Nicholas and his family. Their struggles have been our consolation during the tough COVID-19 lockdowns - we would read this book and be comforted by the resilience the Tsar and his family exhibited during their personal 'lockdown'. The spilling of the blood of the Romanovs was a ritual sacrifice by those who fomented the Bolshevik Revolution. The parallels between the Bolsheviks and the Jacobins of the French Revolution are intriguing, these groups being supported by the same bloodlines and financiers that were in opposition to the established monarchical rulers of those eras who refused to serve their corrupted interests, save that the Romanovs were honorable, unlike the debased French monarchy. The Romanovs truly were martyrs for both their faith and the state.
I think that man was so outraged at what he saw happen on the front line and the lack of leadership. I think that can change Ur whole brain. I wish also they didn't have to be slaughtered. They could have let the kids live. The parents however were responsible for such heinous deaths.
To show there was no going back. However, I agree that such brutality was unnecessary.

congratulations for such a great videos. I had the oportunity to visit Moscow and St Petersburg ( Leningrad at that times ) in 1990 and was so impressed about how the soviets had keep and restored many palaces. I visit the Kremlin, the bolshoi theater and I was surprised that the guides where so well informed about the Romanow family, but had no idea that so many photographes and films existed

Amazing video. Grand Duchees were so pure and beautiful. Maybe someone explain it to me - why Nicolas II did not change the law and make the girls succession
I think that it was considered before Alexei’s birth and when Nicholas was sick but there was opposition to having a girl take the throne . Then in 1913 he tried to pass an edit making Olga regent but by then Russia had a constitution and he was no longer a full autocrat and needed the Duma’s assent which it did not give.
I notice that Olga sits with her parents and Alexei in the forts carriage while the other GDs go with the aunt Elizabeth in the 2nd carriage. I don’t know. If this is just coincidence or some recognition of Olga’s distinction as first born.

The throne is a cruel burden and responsibility that crushes innocence and kindness under its weight. Do not see it as a privilege, the Tsar would never have wanted it for his daughters.
The Romanov Royal Martyrs can you do videos on the reigns of Alexander II, Nicholas I and Alexander II as well as many other Romanov Rulers ( except for Peter I and Catherine II since I already requested that).

I think all the uniform adjustments were a nervous habit. He engaged in that behavior as a form of self soothing. Many people do that. His wife also appeared to be very nervous. She used to suffer from migraines. Although most of that is hereditary I feel some of that also had to do with her nerves.❤️🙏🙏🙏❤️

9:53 Prime Minister Stolypin was murdered by a terrorist a couple days after this was filmed. It happened in an opera theatre, in the presence of Nicholas, Olga and Tatiana. Having survived multiple assassination attempts before, he never backed down on the law-and-order policy which made him the revolutionaries' most hated enemy. He loyally served his Emperor and country to the end.

So fascinating the cultures, traditions, & customs of a dynasty that was very glamorous. If Paul had not banished women from ruling the throne, due to his hatred of his mother who had been empress, Grand Duchess Olga would have been the next empress of Russia. EMPRESS Olga Nikolaevna. Romanova 👑 of the House of Holstein-Gottorp-Romanov.
Note: now that Ukrainian forces were able to strike Moscow, I imagine the most valuable of regalia, jewels & crowns were moved underground (far below the Winter Palace) for safekeeping.
