My back hurts looking at those rear shocks.
Yes, besides suspension the 1200R is probably the best Sportster they made IMHO. They should have used adjustable suspension as in the 1200S though. I put Bitubo fully adjustable shocks and fork cartridge kit in my 1200R and its awsome!
