    appreciate the honesty. I have a fjallraven singi down jacket. same problems with down falling out and YKK zipper being the opposite of smooth.

      Thanks for watching! I feel like some down falling out is inevitable with any jacket, I’m just happy I got a free replacement from Canada goose. But ya quality wise of a Canada goose, id expect a better zipper haha, but it’s still a nice looking jacket don’t get me wrong. Are you still considering a Canada goose or going to stick with your fjallraven?

    I've seen quite a few reviews about this jacket that talk about the sleeves getting caught on the velcro when you don't zip up the jacket. Have you had any issues with that? thanks

    • @chonger
      @chonger  Před 4 lety +2

      Hey thanks for watching! To be honest I cannot recall ever having issues with the sleeves getting caught on the Velcro. I just tried purposely sticking them together and it didn’t really stick. The only way that I think this might be possible is if your jacket is new and you are trying to zip up your jacket (as the sleeves have a good chance of making contact to Velcro then) But my sleeves never come near the Velcro when it’s not zipped, and even if it did I have not experienced a catch.

    Nice honest review. I was just at Pacific Centre trying on the CG Langford Heritage Parkas. I was frankly disappointed by the amount of Velcro (hook and loop fastener) strips on this jacket. These strips are noisy when separated and end up snagging and picking up unwanted debris. The sales person showed me the newly redesigned black CG label Langford parka line which features a new designed hood with no fur as well as metal snaps in place of the Velcro strips. The only drawback is these are only available in two shades of gray, Titanium (cooler) or Coastal (warmer).

      Hey I would say that based on your measurements, a small would be too snug if you were to layer underneath. At one point I was also 165-170 and I found that the jacket fit just right, so I can’t imagine wearing something beneath.

      Thanks for watching! I am 6 feet as well, and am just over 160lbs. I currently wear a small in the fusion fit Langford parka... i can also layer a Patagonia better sweater under it and I’m still fine. So perhaps if you are a bit bigger you can try a medium or a small in the normal Langford fit (If I remember correctly the non fusion fit one is more of a regular fit instead of slim)

      chonger I’ve just bought a large fusion fit expedition parka on eBay without doing the proper research about the fusion fit, I’m concerned it won’t fit. I’m 6’3 and have a slim build should it be ok? Any help is highly appreciated

    • @chonger
      @chonger  Před 4 lety +1

      George Brown - hey I’m not too sure the specifics on the expedition parka, but I know that fusion fits are for slimmer builds. Someone else commented on my video and mentioned he was 6’2 and 200lbs and a large fit him perfect. So since you mentioned that you are slimmer my concern would be that maybe a medium would be better for you. However since you are taller you might end up needing the large for the sleeve length. For me I am 6 feet and 160lbs and a small is good for me, but I like my clothes fairly form fitting... Haha sorry Idk if my answer was what you were looking for exactly, it’s been awhile since I’ve been in the store to try on jackets so I haven’t compared a size run or the different jacket models for like 2 years.

    I need some advice. I don't know whether or not to get the Langford parka that they say is literally "designed for Asians" on their website or the regular one. I THINK I would be a size small. I'm a guy and about 5 feet and 6 inches tall, and my waist size is about 30-32. I really don't want to spend a lot of time having to return a jacket that doesn't fit. Would rather get one that fits right the first time.

    • @chonger
      @chonger  Před 4 lety

      I’m assuming you mean the fusion fit as “designed for asians”... I have non asian friends who have the fusion fit and it fits them well since they are a slimmer build. I’m assuming you are on the slimmer side as well, as my waist is the same size as you. My measurements is 165lbs, and 6 feet and I’m a size small. I’m not sure based on your height if an xs might be more appropriate. If you have access to a measurement tape see if you can match a measurement to a size. But I can say that I prefer the fusion fit over regular fit for sure. Hope that answered your question and not left you with more questions haha. Feel free to ask me anything further.

    • @rominn2184
      @rominn2184 Před 4 lety

      ^ Thanks for your quick reply! Yes, of course, I wasn't suggesting that only Asians can or should wear the fusion fit parka - just stating that I am a small guy and of small build and frame, and I would want to get a jacket that fits me flatteringly and keeps me warm and doesn't look like a box where there's lots of gaps for cold to get in. It sounds like I am definitely shorter than you. It's gonna be between a small or extra small. The only issue with extra small is that when I'm sitting (cause it's a long jacket) it could get tight and bunch up and I wouldn't want it to generally be too snug when zipped up even if it's fine when open.

    Dude, I’m 5.5 muscular fit, what size do you recommend for me?

    • @chonger
      @chonger  Před 4 lety +2

      Hey depending if you like slimmer fits or not... the fusion fit is slimmer in the chest, I believe it is also a bit shorter in length than the regular fit as well. Since you are 5.5 and have a muscular build I would say it is probably good to get a small in a standard fit or a medium in fusion fit. The small in the regular fit could still have a “slim” fit given your muscular build, but be longer in length for you. Or the medium in the fusion fit would be slimmer by nature and also a bit shorter of a jacket. Hope that helped. For me I’m 6ft and the small fusion fit is a good length for me as well as I still have some room in the chest (maybe half an inch) since I’m ~160lbs

    • @chonger
      @chonger  Před 2 lety

      Hmm honestly you might find it a bit bulky wearing something under the Canada goose. However, if you do end up planning to do that, I would recommend the small fusion. Just because when I bought my first Canada goose I was 140lbs and I found xs good for me, and I wouldn’t comfortably be able to wear a layer under, so the small would give you some more room.

      I just googled 9.7 stones is about 135lbs, is that correct? When I got my Langford fusion fit in small I was actually 130lbs and it fit me fine, not too roomy etc. Now that I am 165lbs the jacket is more snug, and fits better. I would say since you are 5 inches shorter than me I would go for an xs.

      chonger XS in the fusion fit or the standard? The standard Langford Parka has a slim cut to it anyways right?

    • @chonger
      @chonger  Před 4 lety +2

      Yes that’s correct the Langford does have a slim fit. I personally would go for the fusion fit. The main differences is slimmer in the torso, slightly shorty sleeve length, and jacket does not go down as low. I can’t remember the exact extent of the differences since it’s been over 2 years since I’ve tried both variants on. But based on my measurements 6ft 165lbs and wearing a small Langford fusion fit, I would think an XS fusion fit for you would be good for you at 5ft7 and 135lbs

    Diffrence between fusion fit to slim fit or just normal fit?

    • @chonger
      @chonger  Před 3 lety

      Hey, it seems that they have changed the site since I purchased my jacket a few years ago. Now, it seems that they have jackets that are “slim” (ex. Langford), “regular” (chilliwack bomber), and “relaxed” (expedition parka). For the ones that are fusion fit, those are slightly smaller (shorter sleeves, narrower chest, shorter hem etc.) so inherently that would make it slimmer. So if you take a fusion fit of an already slim jacket (like the Langford), the fusion fit will be slightly narrower and shorter. Hope that makes sense.
