    What’s your favourite parka?

    So glad I bought two Canada Goose Expedition parkas for my wife and I. Minnesota winters are brutal cold. I love the way the fur protects me from the winds of blizzards. We live out in the country and it is a long walk to get the mail every day. This parka gets the job done.

    Hi chonger, do you think the expedition is ok for Vancouver and Toronto weather or is it too much? I don’t plan on layering inside.

    • @chonger
      @chonger  Před 5 měsíci

      I think you could get some usage out of it. In Vancouver I typically wear my parka from October/November to about March/April depending on the weather. One thing that I found is that the usage of my Langford parka fusion fit was shorter because I found that jacket more warmer as it was more insulating cuz it was slimmer. Now that I have my Wyndham parka and it fits looser I don’t find it as warm in if I leave the jacket unzipped as air is able to circulate in. So my thoughts are since the expedition being oversized, you might be able to get away with wearing it a lot of times if you leave unzipped. I hope my explanation made sense haha

    The Lululemon Wunderpuff does use down, in fact it uses goose down rather than the duck down of Canada Goose. Most top fashion brands make down jackets, even Adidas does a goose down jacket.

    • @chonger

      Yea lululemon is a good option and they have the performance return if something does go wrong.

    How does the wyndham fit? Im a 5'11 200lbs male with a muscular build and im unsure whether I should go with a large or xl? Are the sleeves slim?

    • @chonger
      @chonger  Před 7 měsíci +1

      For reference I’m 6’1 150lbs. The Wyndham fits true to size more or less. I can fit into a large if I want more of an oversized look, so I would recommend xl for you. I would say interior of sleeves are on slimmer side even tho the jacket has a more puffy look

    • @chonger
      @chonger  Před 5 měsíci +2

      I personally like the non heritage, as it has the backpack straps. Also i think it looks modern. As well, I personally don’t like the look with fur, but I understand it does have some functional benefits.

      Go with the Fur/Heritage. For added warmth for your head. Besides CG discontinued all furs, so grab it while its still available. Some furs are detachable, so just remove it if you dont feel like wearing it- RT/New York

      Its a great coat and a lifetime coat but do remember it will be VERY warm. I wore my Heli Arctic Canada Goose coat (similar) in -40 with just a t shirt underneath. If your body runs warm like me just keep that in mind. The real fur does keep your breath from freezing on your face, fake fur does not.

    For $1950, you could've gotten 3 heavy duty North Face coats... They're like $600, and keep you just as warm as a CG, but I will say this, CG's are better looking in my opinion. Right now, I have a Marmot (heavy duty) and I paid $500 for it. It's going on year 4 and no signs of wear and tear at all. Sometimes the bulk of the Marmot gets annoying, but it keeps me super warm.
