Girl, we were JAMMIN' jammin' back in 1987...you couldn't tell us young teenage kids nothin'! The look of joy and enthusiasm on your face is exactly what we were feeling back then as younger people, and we really didn't know it at the time, we were just experiencing everything the 80s offered up to that point...1987 was a perfect summer, even more perfect with the classic music we had and all the fun we had at the movies, the malls, the parties, the concerts, the carnivals, etc....
james stegall YES!!!! To every freaking word!!!!! ❤️
Absolutely!! The 80’s was it!!!❤️
Couldn’t have said it any better James Stegall
I sang the shit out of this song in elementary school and I just now realized what they’re talking about 😂😂😂
You are sooo right!! I was 33 when this came out...my children remember hearing this on the cassette in our car ALL the time ...along with “Don’t Disturb This Groove” “Night and Day” by Al B Sure and all the rest. They’re in their thirties now and I’m...well...you do the math😂. Great music back in the day 👍👍
If we would get music like this again the world would be in better spirits all the time.
@Nuclear Sandwich - 100% true
💯
80’s was an amazing era for music
yes Amen :)
Yelp and also the 70s
AND THE BEAT GOES ON!!! IT'S A LOVE THING!!! 💖💖💖
YAS!
I 3rd that
Yass to both songs
I fifth that!
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When, oh when, are you going to do Cameo "Word Up"!!!?? Great dance club music in the late 80s!
Was lucky enough to see Cameo live in Tallahassee, Florida. They were AMAZING!!
Do "I Just Want To Be". I'm so glad you found this Song. They were the First R & B Group to have Twins. The Other was Jagged Edge.
Nick Caldwell, the brother with the beard was responsible for the choreography! He passed away a couple of years ago. R.I.P.
1987, worked at a local top-40 radio station, use to play this track all the time.
Those guys are electric.Played at every party.Burned up the airways in the 80s.
Put on Whispers "Rock Steady",and all the old people will hit the dance floor. Those twins sounded so good.Their voices were different just enough to have an amazing sound. What great harmonies. They could really sang.
India makes this middle-aged white guy so happy to see her react to my music. Such joy in my day. Thank you.
I prefer reactions to older songs like this.
I prefer music from the 80's and 90's. Brings back great memories from my teenage years! This song is on fire!
Just giggling while watching this. They used to play this everywhere, one of my jam growing up,lol!
This song reminds me of my Mom. 💕
The Whispers was an older group even then. They had been out since the late 60’s but they really hit their stride later on.
You HAVE TO react to Oran Juice Jones “The Rain” THAT is a crazy fun song!!!! Legendary really!!! 😂🤣😂
Omg yes...and Shai Comforter my favorite song!Great recommendation!
Yaaaasss!!!! That was the JAM! ❤️
i have never seen anyone react to that. lol
When he put the girl out. Lol. Though
Funniest song of all time!
Also check out "It's a Shame" by The Spinners. The Spinners are another phenomenal male vocal group from the 70's. There was great music in the back then! I miss groups and bands.
Love that song! I was 17 when this came out, boys loved to blast this while hanging out of the rides trying to get your attention 😂🤣 that was good music!
Yes, I was 1 of those 17 yr. old boys
Brings back lotsa memories, go ahead & picture a certain 6'5" teenage white guy dancing to this, better yet, don't. lol I think it's fair to say this is on India's playlist lol
Great Picture itscrazyal!
Go complete opposite, 4"9" white girl with heels, definitely could have danced the night away with this😘
@@margaretrees8662 We all know, any girl, at any height, can dance better than any white guy lol
I feel ya! I was the 6'2" white guy awkwardly dancing to this song. This was the shit!
I was the 5'5" blonde haired blue eyed girl standing behind my 6'+ guy friends...
I was stationed in Germany And I was a country boy from Alabama but listened and jammed to just about everything back then. A country bar I frequented closed early one night due to a big fight and my buddy and I went to a pop bar to finish off the night drinking and dancing and some of the girls that were there did the same. They played this song and we hit the dance floor with a country line dance called the Tush Push to this song and a few of the girls from the country bar joined in with us. My buddy and I were practically the only 2 white guys there . Most of the people there were surprised to learn that there was more line dances other than the Tootsie Roll and the Electric slide and we pullled a lot of them out and was showing off and people started waiting for us to go out and see if we were going to dance or not so they could learn some new steps. We even did some 2 Stepping and Waltzing too some pop songs with the right beats and everybody there was having a blast.
Proof of how the 80's was the best for music lol
A track like this comes along once in a decade. So welll sung and produced. Even had to invent that little dance step. The 80s ROCK!!!!
The 80s where the best, loved this song from the start! Great reaction! They are groovy and smooth.
A great strong groove to crank up in the car on a nice sunny day! Gotta love their stage presence also!
My jam right here 🔥🔥🔥🔥
late 80's and early 90s hit songs by L.A. Reid and Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds . You just did another with bobby browns every little step. check out Secret Rendezvous by Karyn White And Girlfriend by Pebbles. good examples of this style. they wrote some very big hits for a lot of artist in this era.
This song played ALL the time back in the day. Love it
The Whispers - And the Beat Goes On.
Playing at the club. When it came on you had to get up and dance. Loved it plus The beat goes on. Thanks for back the memories.
Girl, you’re taking a deep dive into my 80’s childhood. And I LOVE IT!!!!
I may be biased, but the 80's had the best club music!! We had so much fun!
Marla you are biased because I’d say the same thing about the 70’s, best music ever.
I was born in 78. After trying to be impartial and learning each decade's music, I'd say that the 70's spawned the best ROCK music but the 80's definitely had the best club and danceable music. Disco was fun and all, but Disco didn't go as deep as the wide variery of dance-able 80's music did in my opinion.
80s music just had the sound that everyone liked,so many good songs
This sounded sooo good in the clubs.
Big hair and swivelling hips. Double Long Islands with fabulous plastic straws.
You can't help but jam off the Whispers. This group was so great, there music sound so good it gets deep.
One of my favorite songs! Awesome that you reacted to it! :) As someone said once this isnt a boy band this is a Man BAND!
How have I never heard this!!!!
How much fun were they having, oh I love it. Still playable now!!!!!!
Oh man you need to react to The Whispers - Keep on loving me, Iconic track and video.
Listen to Stomp - The Brothers Johnson - You will love it!
I ALWAYS feel just the way you do whenever I hear this song!! I’m 68 and still loving it!!!👍👍
Yep this is the way us old heads did it back in the 80’s, just cool classy fun hanging out jamming to some good music rocking your finest clothes, a little drink and a lot of dancing, sometimes even at happy hour after work! We didn’t know we were so spoiled with so much great music because it was the standard, just the way it was!
I grew up in the 80's and even now in 2020, this is STILL a JAM!!
In Central Florida in the '80s, most "pop" channels were R&B/Hip-Hop/Rap heavy due to Miami Bass becoming a thing. They'd play The Whispers, Prince, MJ, Bar Kays, Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam....songs you can't help but dance to.
I just love how u get soooo excited when u hear music that had such a positive vibe to us back in the days...I still listen to the whispers now & I’m only 36 🥰😜✌🏾
I was a metal head back in those days but songs like this? You can’t deny the greatness of a groove. ❤️
Girl i used to dance to this back in the day with my friends. You are tapping into some of the great music of my generation. Enjoy!!!
Thank you MS. INDIA, you took me back to some GREAT memories ❣️ "You looked at me and stole my HEART" ♥️♥️♥️
Got me on the dance quit a few times, here we are 2021 and it still gets me moving around the house
I loved the Whispers. They were an L.A. band so I saw them several times in concerts or at clubs in Los Angeles. There was a dance called the rock steady. The rocking swaying that they are doing is the rock steady.
The 80’s has the BEST music. In the 80’s when you went to the skating rink, this song was always on their playlist.
I discovered your page by pure chance, and I’m loving all your videos. Your enthusiasm and happiness listening to songs like this, makes me so happy! This song and your other reaction videos of 80s & 90’s R&B (the music of my childhood and teenage years) is pure enjoyment! Thank you! 🎉🎉🎉
My family still plays this every new years eve lol
We were literally dancing on the tables to the Whispers' Rock Steady! This was our jam! Also love their song "And the Beat Goes On."
WHISPERS, 4-EVER !! --------------BETWEEN 1972 & 1992, I SAW THEM 12 TIMES -----------I WISH IT WAS 112 ! I remember this from junior high. You should try "Misled" from Kool and the Gang, i crank that one up on the boomin system in the car 😁👍❤ YA!!☮
YES!
@@just_Janet do you also remember "You Dropped a Bomb on Me" by the Gap Band and "I Feel for You" by Chaka Khan?
Great memories of this song and dancing to it.
Check out Morris Day and The Time. Jungle Love. Another great dance song from the 80s
33 years later....This song still catchy and groovy!
Midnight Star "No Parking On The Dance Floor" please please please.
David Hunt my fav ❤️
PLEASE!!!
@@geminiblue43 I would hate to try the moves I use to do to that song. Be in traction 6 months 😁
Please play XOXO
The Whispers are definitely old school! This is from the 80”s! The twins are so cute and they’re doing the “rock” a dance from the era! Takes me back to school dances! 😂❤️
The 80s was the best for pop music! Synthe-heavy music and driving beat were the cornerstones of the 80s.
India you have to do KEEP ON LOVING ME by The Whispers..
You'll love that as well.
GREAT REACTION
That's The One right there!
God bless!🛐✝️
Yeahh, that's gotta be one of your Best reactions!...Great song, Great reaction.👏
This song is fantastic definitelyA song to groove and shake your body too.
The song is so catchy I love it. Especially their dance moves lol
Oh yeah, the summer of 1987 was lit! I need to organize a playlist for you, India. My favorite Whispers song is "In the Mood." That's straight up baby making music. Did you notice the two lead singers are twins? Walter and Wallace Scott with their trademark thick mustaches lol.
😁 U have tapped into that of the SOLAR sound. Also, the Whispers' entire discography is quality and timeless soul music at its absolute finest.
Great music, great vibes, great band! Never gets old! Still groovin' to it!!
Ray, Goodman & Brown & The Whispers...baby making music. 😜💯🔥
Early ,mid 80's going out with shorty to the Circle Star in San Carlos CA.
We would not miss a Whisper show ever..!
Brings back such good happy memories of wonderful years...
Now this was a JAM! You picked a good one to react to India.
Oh yeah girl friend!!!😁 We had it going on back then. That's what you call.."OLD SCHOOL JAM" YESSSS!!! 😎🎶😎 Love your reactions!!
I just replayed this one, oh wow its awesome. Definitely going on my playlist❣❣❣❣
I just knew you would be groovin' to this one! A favorite of mine from the 80's! This was around the time that Prince got big too.Check out Morris Day and The Time Jungle Love too!
Thank YOU for the experience! So much 80s fun music!! Shannon let the music play!AWEsome
Hey India, YOU ARE one of the MOST Genuine Reactors on CZcams because of your Genuine Sincerity and Candor. I Grew up during this time HOWEVER personally THE BEST OLD School R&B Soul Funk was in the 70's. For example, The Isley Brothers, Earth Wind & Fire, Con Funk Shun, Bar Kays, Ohio Players, Heatwave, AWB, just for starters. If you wanna Move and Groove, then do The Isley Brothers; Livin' in the Life Pt 1&2 and then Slow it down with Earth Wind & Fire April.18.1975 Devotion. Your Parents knew how to Groove.....!! Peace
India, you are too cute. The Rock (waving and rocking thing) was actually a dance.
The Whispers are Fabulous!!! OMG!!!!! You have Fell in Love!!! HaHaHa....lol...Hahaha....
You go, girl keep pushing. This reminds me of the Friday and Saturday night at the skating rink. Get my sl swerve on.
Love it, I hope you listen to more of this type in the future🙏🏾👍🏾
You love it! Your smile and happiness took me back. Thank you
hi india from Manchester. uk. you should try the gap band. " burn rubber on me" its great watching and listening to you x
You damn straight baby girl. This was one of our jams back in the day. And check out them suits on the brothas. Styling.
Love your reaction! I was in high school when this came out!
One of their other songs "And The Beat Goes On" was sampled by Will Smith for "Welcome To Miami". They went through their various group changes like The Stylistics but they still rock the house. Also keep in mind that there was a time where Singing Groups did their Own Choreography (Ha! Ha!).
We were! And dancing to it in the bars! Loved loved, still love! Rock steady baby!
OMG you have no idea how many great songs they had. Memories of cruising around town with te windows down and this playing. Some were mentioned, but Contagious was another and check out their early ones, Olivia Lost and turned out and Let’s go all the way, a big hit in the clubs early disco, you won’t be disappointed
I liked it but... I liked their earlier stuff too..."It's A Love Thing" and "And The Beat Goes On" are two of my favorites to this day (And still crowd pleasers). A little bit of trivia, the group came out in 1969, charting in 1970. Honestly most of us thought of this group as old school, and didn't look to see anymore hits from them... then this come out and hit number 1. WHAT!!! IT was out of nowhere too. I love it when stuff like that happens, kind of like when we thought Cher was completely done with hits, but then comes out with Believe with auto tune being purposely in the forefront, which led directly to this mumble rap crap today, lmao.
Walter and Wallace Scott, the twin singers in The Whispers had a slew of great hits before this one. Try "And The Beat Goes On", "Its A Love Thing", "Lady", and "I Can Make It Better" for more of this great band. It's also time for you to try the other great bands that were on the SOLAR label such as Shalamar, Midnight Star and Dynasty. Also a song that has a similar feel to this is "Roses Are Red" by The Mac Band. The same groove and feel with that hard/sweet beat. Give that a try as well.
Yep and that Roses are red was intended for the Whispers but got pass to the McBand instead, but turned out good nonetheless.
Omg I had to subscribe to you!! I love your reactions! This was a groove my mom used to listen too - kept me moving lol.
That's what my friends favorite dancing music/song in 1988 to 90 while we were stationed in South Korea. Rock On Girl.
Other Whispers songs to check out: It's A Love Thing, and And The Beat Goes On. Also, from The Temptations: Treat Her Like A Lady. All dance songs from the same era, just like Rock Steady. The Best!!!
I was 16 when this came out and I remember every single word! Great reaction.
I was 8 and I remember every single word!!
This was one of my favourite songs growing up because of the rhythm but as I got a little older and heard it after a few years...you listen to the whole thing and realize how great it really was.
Now you gotta take it to the next level with Word Up by Cameo, Let it Whip by Dazz Band and Meeting in the Ladies Room by Klymaxx. We tore those clubs DOWN with those songs! And last song of the night was always THE ROOF IS ON FIRE!!! “We don’t need no water let the 🤭🤭 burn! Ha!
Oh! And The Men all Pause - Klymaxx. Those girls had it going on!
The Whispers not Whisperers. Rock Steady not Rockin' Steady.
my jam back in the day, danced many a night to this,so many memories
Hi India, Girl you run your show. People like you so much. We will listen to whatever you play. Bless You. 7-15-2021
Takes me back to Homecoming Dance in the high school gym. Thanks for all the memories! Love watching your reactions, like hearing for the first time.
LOVE THIS!!!! Cant watch them enough.
India thank you for playing The Whispers. I loved it. You are doing a great job. Thanks again.
Hahaha love them expressions you get on the song. That's how I react also. This song is so jammin!
Also in Australia there was a Group called Ray Brown & The Whispers. This was one of Three Songs that had Rock Steady. There was Aretha Franklin and Canadian Remy Shand.
I love your reaction to this song! It's a great song!!!
