Built Not Bought hahaha
Do you do your own editing?
Totally got me I was checking my earphones like dam they're broke hahaha
Built not bought, so far I haven’t seen you build anything, even the bar you chopped up you took it to someone to fab up. Should you change the channel to bought and bolted on?
And im not sure what you watched. Unless im missing something. But he fabbed the Barwork....had his new exhaust fabbed?
While I do enjoy the look in a bullbar with no hoops, in my mind it loses out on functionality. Some people might think it's only there to be a light and 2-way aerial mount, and think that it would still be useless when you hit an animal. But, they do indeed stop you getting a mouthful of kangaroo. If it's high enough to hit the hoop, that will both redirect it and decrease the amount of relative energy it has, meaning it will smash into the roof or windscreen at a better angle and a slower relative speed. It will bounce up and travel along with the car, instead of just going straight through the windscreen.
And my personal experiences has taught me that the hoops are useful for other things, such as stopping a blow or as a resting point for the car. One of my mates once had a Hilux roll down a hill into his bullbar, bending it back and destroying the ute tray, but the front of his car remained funtionally the same, just his spotties were off. And once a mate who was new to four-wheel driving tipped over on a steep hill. Dad parked up against a tree so when we pulled him back on his wheels we weren't dragged down the steep, loose hill. Now there's a little bit of paint that rubbed off on the tree.
My only complaint with bullbar hoops is that they're not thick enough or supported enough in the bar itself. They're just welded on top, when they really need a plate welded in the bar to be welded to.
Reckon it just confuses matters when people talk about bullbars with no hoops. I reckon bullbars have hoops and bumperbars have none.
I hit a roo with my HX Kingswood on the Hay Plain on the way back to Wagga. I caught him on the hop and after he dented the top front of my car, the cunt ricocheted over top and dented the boot. I took it to a crash repair shop and told the guy I hit a roo. He says "fair enough, how did ya dent the boot?"
Hm... silent welding montages, never seen that done before hahaha
Yeah it’s a new thing 😏😏😏
Bullbar? Nah, I like to keep the roo's outside my headlights and radiator.
Man after my own heart Sam love fabbing stuff up like that , well done so far , cant wait for the reveal
Love watching you do this custom work and see a 4x4 with a unique look and not just the usual and also gives people ideas to do something different !
Nice bar fab work, I noticed lochi lux fab is a "Cleetus McFarland" fan by his shirt.
Samy's custom 4x4 modifications yewww!! like this sort of video style...
Nice.
Usually I don’t even watch product placement videos
Loving the Japanese safety boots and the "Increased Airflow" modified bullbar
Awesome vid liked before watching as always
Same here
💯same
Love the look but not sure I'd want to give up the protection the top bars offer... Have saved me from putting panels/lights into the bank in deep tracks more than once and keeps branches off my front end on really overgrown tracks. Plus I'm always driving in skippy territory... haha
Is any of the mods you do engineered? Curious about insurance and road worthy to register.
Love the bar would like it on my GU but with the hoops lol
good old chinese work boots
Im glad I read the comments before I watched the video, because that silent welding montage would have had me pressing all my volume buttons 😂
I like the look of the “prerunner” style front bar.
Nice work mate! 👍🏻
Thanks for blue balling me at the end 🤣 keen for next weeks vid
Loving the bullbar already and it’s not even finished 😍😍😍
Hell Yeah Brother, Cleetus T-Shirt for the win during fabrication of the exhaust
That front bar looks proper mate
Good job ❤🤙🥵
You should sound deddon your cab so you don’t have to wear air plugs while driving
Why do that when you can just get a varex
@@raleshkumar8133 varex?
@@cxllum8700 🤦♂️. The exhaust valve
Deaden* ear*
Wanted to do this to my 95 Series Prado. Apparently you are only allowed to make a front end for vehicle that have no air bags where I am.
when I saw your Instagram stories I came straight to your CZcams channel love your videos
5:34 Where is the montage music at?? Hahaha
I know right! Haha
And 7:00
Old mate wearing the cleetus shirt is great 👌🏼
That bumper looks fkn good! An idea borrowed from the A-pillar mounted lights on Wranglers - small spread-beam lights on the corners pointing 45 degrees diagonally really helps spot wildlife at night and flush-mounted in a bumper bar would be the dream.
BTW I think 3 round spotlights with one in the middle is technically not legal here in QLD. Besides, wouldn't the extra airflow help cool the beast under the bonnet? :D
• Driving lamps must be installed symmetrically from the longitudinal centre line of the vehicle. If driving lamps are not fitted as pairs (e.g. one or three) they must also be fitted symmetrically about the longitudinal centre line of the vehicle.
Straight from the QLD compliance website
Love the built not bought truck cant wait to see the new wrap!
Love the consistent grind to get better
Love the safety shoes
Love the safety thongs
Love it mate looks good
Looking good so far bro..
I am curious, what happens with adr compliance? Like if you had an accident with a custom bull bar. Would there be an issue?
Coming along great
Good stuff
Wonder what the legality are with this, with ADR's engineering etc...
There is no legality unless he has it engineer certified, so up shyte creek if he has an accident and tries to claim / other insurance company may not pay out
Where did you get those progressive indicators?? Please
Anyone else check to see if their phone volume cut out 😂
Thought that was the ear plugs
I think you should of left the bar how it was it looked mint
Really froth the hoopless look Sammy good to be going different! Also froth the welding montage in this one 😉
you should have come down to Toowoomba from where you were cuz thats where I live
How does the shed floor matting go with a buildup of grinding dust and dirt mate?
Like you, I have had to do some modifications to get the look right. It's almost impossible to get anything for my car (Pathfinder WD21) so I buy what I think I can use and make it fit . Bull Bar was done about 1& a half years back and now doing a rear twin arm bar.
Some may ask why? Why not. . I can't put any extra fuel under her, for those long trips. And it's not good for carrying Jerry cans in the car. . . Soo thought why not a rear bar. (About the only good thing to come from C-19 was some extra money to pay for it.) So found a guy selling some rear bars on Facebook, cut it up a little and about to test fit it over this weekend. And yes the time one spends on this sometimes make one wonder why do I do this to my self.... But in the end of I feel good about it. . Then it's worth the effort... When done I will put up a photo.
HI Sam I like the fabrication work a lot of hours burnt enjoyed CHEERS MATE.
Hey Sam. Just a quick question why to you use the old version of the toolpro battrey grinder and not the later brushless model one?
That's cruel haha wanted to see the finished product
I would of kept the existing bar you had Sammy it looks good and is functional
Strangely silent welding hahaha
Old mate rockin a Cleetus t shirt 🤘
In vic those varex mufflers are only legal for off road use dunno about where u are but in vic we can’t use them on the road unless there factory fitted
That hilux in the background. Love it
Just watch for the varex valve sticking and theyre very restrictive when theyre closed, I had one on my petrol 105 series and it was good when new but after a couple weeks it went to shit, now I just have a valve on a dump pipe and its working alot better
Are u doing a retune with harrop after the new zaust went in? New front bar looks minticle
Good video mate 😎👍🏼
Think there’s some missing audio
Colin Furze has his safety tie, Sam has his safety thongs!
sounds good but did u get it certified by a auto engineering and structual
boilermaker
Doesn't need to be engineered if there's no airbag
What thickness plate did you use for the bullbar mate??
Wheres the follow up to this been looking for it for ages
Love ya Japenese safety boots. 😂🤣
Isn't modifying an ADR compliant bull bar illegal? at the very least it makes it not ADR compliant anymore.. good luck with an insurance claim if you hit anything.
What’s the legalities in building your own bullbar? Doesn’t need to be ADR approved?
Pretty sure if it has a airbag it does
80s engine in the background at the end?
I know a 1fz-fe any day 🤣
Love the industrial safety footwear...
Yo first time on this channel before 100 comments
Should go full stainless tray
What’s that song call at the end of your video. Keep up the good work💪
Good video first
Should design it for a high mount winch. The only way to go
Bullbar looks unreal I want one I can’t find a decent bar for my patrol they all look pretty shitty but that’s mad
That gap between bumper and headlights and fender though
I would usecsteam pipe next time not galv. Paint or powder coat goes better on steel
Great work. Get yourself a plasma cutter. Makes life easy.
And black clear views mirrors
Anyone know the legalities for making your own bulbar or modifying one? I want to do a custom one myself but i thought they had to be adr approved for cumble zones, air bag sensor compatible, pedestrian impacts etc...?
Should cover the ends in around the winch then don’t see the which just the fairlead
as if u leave us hanging haha. nah but seriously I love it and can't wait to see the final product
It will look nice mate but what happens if u smack skippy with no hoops
Recess indicators in mate
Is it legal to modify your bullbar that extensively??
No
Its legal to build them at home for cars with no airbags
Sam what happened to your torsion bar sway bars?
Is it legal to cut and mod a bar like that?
Probably not. Pretty sure they need to be tested to be fitted to any vehicle that has airbags.
@@Mafk101 that’s what I thought.. I remember people getting in the 💩 for building tube bars a few years ago
Is it airbag compliant I wonder???
As always good to see the zing phong safety thongs. Nothing better in qld.
Hi Sam I’ve been watching your videos for a long time now I live Gladstone, Qld, and I’m wondering have you seen there’s An event happening tomorrow for 4wd called king of the strip it would be awesome to see you go down
Anyone else get awkward welding silence 🤣
AAAHHHHHH nooooo that current bar is awesome
Bullbars have hoops, thats a bumper bar
Hey man I just bought a 4.2 gu patrol with 370 ks what should I do to the Engine to make sure it stays In good health and performs well
Rebuild it
Take it to a decent diesel mechanic, get it checked over, get their advice on what to do. If you question it, get it checked at another place and see if their reccy's line up
What muffler is that? I've seen valve cut outs but that muffler is what I need
@Krump 7 awesome cheers
Great way to protect the front of your patrol less than before. Never understood nudge bars, 0 protection from a kangaroo rolling up over bonnet into your windshield.
Notice u have a 35inch spare wheel cover? Where did u happen to source that from.or anyone who reads this in Australia know where i can get 2 from ? Sick build also bloke
Try super cheap auto
Hard to get for 35s
@@joels2517 sometimes you can get universal ones
You want to look up southern Cross canvas he will hook you up
@@joels2517 thanks fellas 👌
Sooo... where is the license plate gonna go now?🤔
How much for the old bull bar
Not legal to change a bull bar in NSW.
I’ve done it haven’t been done yet just say it’s a custom
@@user-wd5mx9ec3p has to be adr approved if its custom but your right not many cops will pick u up on it
Not legal if it has airbags if not it needs no adr approval
@@partygamer99 only usually a problem after an accident.
I would pay heaps it looks mad
Would you put a valve on a diesel?
Seen reviews years ago that on diesels they leak as the soot builds up when they are open
@@heyitsjunior7870 cheers man. I wonder if there's wait invent a manual switch on the exhaust so you can change it to win the two without electronics?
But it probably would be easier to just swap the muffler for a hotdog and just change between the two.
U can buy a manual version of thed mufflers. They have like a wire the goes into the dash or tray and can open and close the butterfly
If only it were a diesel though
@@braydenfrancis8214 nar I was thinking about my rig
How did you got all the tools at the beginning ?? As an electronics engineer, i think you aren't full with tools needed? Did you had money at the beginning ??
Not bad🤙
its a nice bull bar
