Dogs with Jobs - Season 5, Episode 1: Cooper, Wasabe, Frito

Working from traces of human scent vacuumed off crime scene evidence, 3-year-old Cooper, a homicide scent detective Labrador with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's office, is instrumental in solving murder cases . Assisted by a bloodhound who helps get him to the general area of the suspect‘s scent, Cooper tracks the suspect‘s scent right to the doorway of a home, apartment or hotel room. Going after criminals is dangerous work but somebody’s gotta do it. The sight of Cooper at their door makes some suspects confess on the spot. In Cooper‘s first year of work he has been key in obtaining 12 confessions.
Joan lives with a form of mental illness called bipolar disorder, also known as manic depression. Without her Rhodesian ridgeback Wasabe Joan’s life would be unmanageable. We witness Wasabe helping Joan when she is unstable. We see how he intervenes to prevent inappropriate anger and from giving in to suicidal feelings. Wasabe enables Joan to function and perform her demanding, high-level job. His continued good work paves the way for the acceptance of psychiatric therapy dogs in the U.S.
Frito is a 'Puddin' Jack Russell Terrier and seasoned athlete who injured himself last race. He got sidelined, had to have knee surgery, and now is undergoing twice-weekly hydro physiotherapy. Frito is now preparing to make a comeback at the Big Purina Incredible Challenge finals where he’ll go head to head against last year's national hurdle champ in front of an audience of 4,000 people. But will Frito be in top hurdling shape, ready to compete?

Frito may not have been able to compete because of his leg that season,there's always next season when the leg is well healed.

Everyone here should do themselves a favor, and CZcams search these Jack Russell races. They let about 6 dogs run over a couple of hurdles, then the one to enter a small hole at the end winds. It's wild crazy, and a hoot to watch!
