I live near oil refineries. There are areas where oil rigs or drills are directly next to homes. They don’t do this in affluent neighborhoods but in poor black and brown neighborhoods. They passed a law to stop new ones from being built and the oil lobby tried to get a measure of the ballot to repeal it, saying it was raising gas prices to not be able to drill

I’m from saint Louis as well. My views on this is different. I actually understand what she is saying. Sometimes there’s a link between what they do and things going on in our community. Particularly with us like she said and people of color. For me it’s the deliverance of what she is trying to convey. There’s a way to say things and that’s always been a tick with me with her is how she says things.
