And worse, particularly american issue, because you have a lot of capitalist countries in Europe and Asia where things like this never happen, and where racism exists obviously but it is minor compared to your country, I love the states but you americans give a relevance to pigmentation never seen in anywhere else.

    • @plasmakitten4261
      @plasmakitten4261 Před 3 lety +26

      @@danibaltr9742 first of all, racism is an exceptional problem in the US but it is very much apparent to anyone not blinded by nationalism that it has a strong presence in every Western nation. Second, racism is inherently linked to capitlism because racism is profitable for the rich white man. It allows him to divide the poor against each other. Back in the day, it even allowed him to justify things like the slave trade and colonization, all of which were immensely racist and immensely profitable. The link between supressing the non white and making money is never going to be shattered. Thus, capitalism has no praxis to solve racism.

      @@danibaltr9742 you're confusing capitalism with industrialization. Industrialization, science, and other forms of progress have given us better lives; capitalism disproportionately awards those improvements to the richest. His paternal great-uncle was the first elected president of Kenya, and his father was Kenya's first ambassador the UN. Unfortunately he denied paternity of Tom, so he was raised alone by his Irish-Italian mother. His mother was a US history teacher at his school and taught both him and Tool guitarist Adam Jones; the two of them played together in a band called Electric Sheep in 1982 (with him on guitar and Jones on bass) and Morello was actually the one who introduced Jones and Maynard James Keenan to Danny Carey when they both moved to LA. “Those who died are justified. By wearing the badge, they’re your chosen whites.”-whenever cops are killed they are honored and lauded as heroes.
      “You justify those that died. By wearing the badge, they’re your chosen whites.”-Looks similar, but the few differences change the entire meaning. Whenever people are killed by the police, particularly black people, everyone is quick to justify their killing simply by virtue of the badge. How many times have blacks been killed by police and the media digs up the victim’s entire backstory and every little thing they have done wrong in their lives? They paint them as criminals so as to deflect from the issue that they were murdered by a man with a badge.

For more conscious old school stuff that is still relevant, I would love to see y'all react to Ice Cube's A Bird In The Hand, from the early 90's. This happens a lot. In the middle of the Mccarthy era, when maybe the worst thing you could be was a communist, every kid was taught to sing This Land Is Your Land by Woody Guthrie. The same people who hated communism were teaching kids a song that was written by a communist. Not only that, the song was preaching communist values, lol. This phenomenon speaks to the subversive power of art to reach the minds of the brainwashed and plant seeds that can sprout into resistance.

      All I'm gonna say is that the conservative US order is lucky that the Soviet Union collapsed at the end of the 80s, because if US art culture had continued to develop the same way against the backdrop of endless anti-communist propaganda, the generational backlash could have had some very dramatic effects. It's sad how in the 90s a lot of the energy that was built in the 80s counterculture just went down the drain.
