- I needed some butcher dies, so I decided to make some and show you how I go about putting these together.

nice job on those dies
when welded my Uncle Al ladder dies to the carrier plates, I discovered that if you get get the top die welded right, then the rest is easy.
Good video. I had no idea what a butcher die was. I went right to food. Lol. Chubby kid in me never dies.
thanks for the walkthrough, very helpful. i'm curious how you align round dies like your fullering dies? in that case you can't use the press to hold the dies in place while you weld, correct?
late on this one, nice build and easy to follow and understand, mind not got a press so not likely to make them for a long time yet, and have to say the only rubbish weld is one that fails, grotty can be easily fixed like you did lol
Next on my list to make. Pressing in shoulders with just the flats leaves so much to grind and file later, hoping this changes that. Thanks for the idea. Have you found any other uses? (though that alone seems plenty useful enough for me to make)
Have you tried making the punch set for the coal forge 12 ton? I've been contemplating giving it a try.
