The quality of this performance is absolutely amazing! Nowadays it's hard to find musicians in the charts that can pull off harmonies like that in a live performance. Really well done :)
Never really been a fan of Taylor Swift, but I've love the Civil Wars. Joy Williams' voice is always breath taking. She can harmonize like no one else. A great trio of great voices.

John is such a calm yet talented guitarist and Joy is a great singer. I love how they harmonize, To be honest, a big reason why this song is so gorgeous is because of the harmonizing, it makes the song a billion times more... eery and somehow soothing

@TaySwiftVidz I completely agree. A lot of artists have bad performances on Award Shows, I have to imagine it has something to do with sound checks and/or the sound system itself, making it difficult for most artists. I think she is an amazing singer, songwriter and musician.

I think it's funny that I met the person that fitted The Civil Wars for their outfits for this and the music video, and The Civil Wars absolutely did NOT want to do this song with Taylor Swift. They said they were being forced, and Taylor was paying for EVERYTHING. I guess you really do get whatever you want when you have money...

She could work on her timbre to get rid of the break btwn registers, but the song should be in this key bc emotionally, it's supposed to transition between being intense and soft. Taylor's technique may not be perfect but she does a great job at capturing beauty & raw emotion. It isn't an easy song but she is able to hold a soft & pleasant tone. She's on-key & holds notes beautifully that I didn't know she could execute. Great songwriting as well.
