Can’t wait to tell my kids this is classic rock.
Ive been a LB fan for 20 years now... and they have been a band since 94.... so.... THEY ARE CLASSIC ROCK!
Hehe
Classic rock is a c.i.a invention
It's called the archaic revival
Don't believe me? Read the works of Dr. Hans utter
dad rock
Lightning Bolt are certified goldie oldies
After 30!!! years still such an energetic musical powerhouse!
wonderful, thanks.
can't thank you enough for recording both of them. every video i've seen of them is mostly or completely focused onto the drummer. i saw them live a few months ago and some of the bassist's foot movements while playing are crazy impressive. it really struck me because i'd been wondering how he does it for years, so having a video from this angle where you can see everything is really special.
I saw Lightning Bolt for the first time at Irving Plaza in NYC closing the Sonic Youth gig, in 2002. I could not believe my eyes (and my ears).
I was there. 👏👏👏
Yes. Andy's Bar and Grill. Doesn't get better than this.
Thank you for sharing this. God Bless The Brians.
Lightning Bolt Forever. 💗
Thank you for everything you do Daniel. This was a bucket list show and now I get to continue reliving it. Much love brotha
I’ve got to see them 2009 2010 2011 and 2018 and they are the BEST!!!
I’ve seen them a bunch as well. Never gets old. I do wish they played on the floor more like they used to. Were they headlining this show or opening for someone? I saw them play with the locust. It was my first time seeing both of the bands live.@@iangoodisDMX
Daniel is one of my bros and I was from a different perspective if you want to check it out. Also made it kind of trippy looking, but I was right in front of the drummer.
But apparently, it’s a no no to put links, so I had to take my link down.
So happy Air Conditioning was in this set, with this quality!
Thank you Mr Kirby 🙏
How the hell did I miss this? I need more beauty in my life.
I know me too but the thing is I live in Florida :(
Lightning Bolt in Denton?! Perfection
Fuck yeah I didn’t know these guys were still playing
What a gift- excellent video. God damn, I can’t believe they still have that Marshall amp and that it still works i assume.
badass
Bacanão!!! Dia 25 de fev de 2024 em SP
Dear Brian’s, there’s a place in Canada called Toronto. Please come and play here.
right. i moved here thinking i would get a chance to see them. looks like they never play here 😢
Absolutely bonkers. Love
Missed these guys this time, but next time for sure! Thanks for all of ur vids, got into Sunn O))) from ur DTLA vid!
Yes!!!!!
I was at a show a few days before this, I was eye level with Gibson's speaker cabinet and it was the coolest goddamn thing I've ever seen
43:22 i love when lightning bolt get quiet
fkin mega, thanks Daniel, superb sound 🙏
thanks dan
Wow I was just in Denton (and TX) for the first time. Had no idea LB played there. Is this place around the square area? Shoutout to Cartwright’s! Amazing food!
I saw them in 2016 at Day for Night and even with it being an outside stage, it was like a nuke going off in my face. I cannot imagine being this close but the kids look like they're havin' it haha. Thanks for the upload--best footage since their own "The Power of Salad and Milkshakes"
I saw em outside at Levitation in I think the same year, and I was genuinely worried that I was going to pass out after each song, but EVERY time they started another song, it felt like a literal fucking Lightning Bolt shot up my body and brought me back to life. It felt like Magick. Like a game of tennis between them and the audience where we were tossing this beach ball of visceral Energy between each other. They'd give themselves to the crowd, and we'd reciprocate, and it felt like a full circle loop of Spiritual Energy. It was life changing, in the truest sense, for me.
Dead Cowboy is a masterpiece
Hell yes! This was in my recommendations and it brought me back to 2002 when I saw Them on OOPS the Tour with The Locust and Melt Banana and a bunch of other bands. I don't remember who played before them but while that band was on stage they set up on the ground along the side wall and the second the other band finished they went right into their set which caught most of us by surprise since we didn't see them setting up. I'm pretty sure it was 13 monsters they opened the show with. It was pretty brutal and an amazing night all around!
Jealous doesn't even begin to describe it... 3 bands I immediately collected all releases from upon discovering them! Yet to see any of them live. Always some scheduling issue, or, lately, Covid...
AHHHHHHHH
WHAT. I live in this town and I didn't hear about this :(
fucking gods
Chingon 😊
sick, do you have the cabo boing set as well?
They really don't get tired of playing the same tunes.
It is true tbh but I keep coming back to those same tunes
I wish you guys would come to Canada. I used to live in Hyannis and go to those $5 dollar shows in P town and drink underage :P
Unbelievable how much dedication they have to their music.... seemed like an art rock project back in when ever but yikes
You don't tend to create Transfigurative (probably not a word, but rooted in Transfiguration) Art without giving it your Heart and Soul, in quite a literal sense. If you've had the fortune of experiencing The Brians live, you should understand what I mean.
Anybody know the name of the first song?
'The metal east,' played in a slightly different key than studio version
@@parksgore thanks man, yeah I think he may be tuned down a half step here
to any right dominants: forget about it
lightning bolt is what it would really be like if all your action figures could talk and do shit
When hypermagic mountain came out- I loaded up an emulator of contra 3, turned on infinite lives, volume all the way up on the headphones, and just started blastin lol
15K? I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. My views are nothing like this.
Thom Yorke has another experimental side project?
I guess they got tired of floor shows, maybe it got dangerous a few times.
It’s easier to pull off in small, unsanctioned venues. Most venues with like, a Googleable business identity find it a bafflingly pointless liability.
Plus, hell yeah I bet they’re tired of it. having your cables kicked loose and disconnected every 14 seconds by a churning, unpredictable, agglomerated garbage heap of people-sized insectoids- kinda wrecks the momentum of your performance lmao
They might still play the odd parking lot, warehouse, or basement show on the floor if it’s a sudden performance and their name isn’t listed on flier-
@@Buckinghamrabbit yeah it's sumthin else
Once again Brian dictates the rhythm during the weird intermission after megaghost
