  • Hi everyone! I made some wonderful smelling oatmeal, milk, and honey soap that has all three of those ingredients in it! I don't make many of each soap (at the moment), but if you'd like to check them out then please check out my Etsy page!

    This is great for beginners because it shows that u can still make soap without all the fancy schmancy soap making equipment. Ty!

      You're very welcome! I love making soap like this because I dont have space for all of the equipment of space to let it cure. And you can still get super creative this way. Have fun soaping!

    I loved your video!!! Been trying to figure out the melt and pour/oatmeal thing for a week now. (weights, measures etc) This really helped :) Now, as a former pastry and bread chef...wait until your soap batters have cooled to thicken a bit more before pouring and I think you'll find your heavier additives will suspend better. As a plumbers daughter...the oatmeal on top looks FABULOUS...but will cling to the plumbing. What if I just put a few steel-cut oats across the top? (cuz I want that look too. I want my friends and family to know "Grandma put oats in there")

      Sorry for the late response! My phone didnt alert me! Thats a great idea of letting it cool before pouring! Thanks so much I'll try that on my next batch. Also you can totally do the steel cut oats on top or even grind the oats slightly less so they are whole oats on the top like mine were haha. I just really liked the aesthetic of the whole oats look. Thanks for watching and feel free to let me know what you think of other recipes or any other suggestions you have! 😊

    i think a way to keep all the oats on top is to put that glycerin over the top a little to kinda solidify it in

    Can we use the double boiler method for the melt and pour ? Also do we need to add any preservatives if we plan to sell to customers?

    • @colorfullivingcrafts5340
      @colorfullivingcrafts5340  Před 4 lety +1

      A double broiler does work! I've seen many people do it. And with melt and pour the preservatives should already be in there, so just check the ingredients on the ones you buy!

      @colorfullivingcrafts5340  Před 5 lety +1

      Sorry for the late response. Yes they do! I know when people hear "No coconut oil" they think there will be less lather but theres the exact same amount as with a bar you would buy in the store 😊 Maybe I should do a video showing this too? Thanks for the question!

    So with melt and pour soaps .. we have to add glycerin? i thought melt and pour soaps had everything you need already in it .. you just melt it?

    • @colorfullivingcrafts5340
      @colorfullivingcrafts5340  Před 4 lety +2

      Yeah all you have to do is melt it down, everything that makes it soap is already in there but you can add other stuff into it if you want 😊

      25 oz of Goats Milk Melt and Pour
      25 oz of Glycerin Melt and Pour
      1 oz of Fragrance Oil
      I put a little bit (less than 1/16) of bronze mica in the Glycerin
      1 tbsp of honey
      Crushed oats to your desire (I think I used a little less than 1/4 of a cup)
      Whole oats to your desire for the top.

      @claudia a good tip is no more than 1000ml of addictives per pound of soap.. and try not to add more than 4 ..the more you add the more you reduce bubbles

  • @gracelynnrosesoapsandmore969

    You should have waited to pour the glycerin. You should’ve let it cool a little more. Practice makes perfect.
