      It depends on your task. Not all things are made for gaming. As a matter of fact most of these new tech doesn't benefit gaming in any ways at all. GPUs still can't even take full advantage of a PCIE 3 lane.

    • @kwedl
      @kwedl Před 2 lety +8

      It definitely has enough performance over it depending on the task and if you copy a lot of files or big files daily.
      Of course for gaming it's not worth it, but that even applies to PCIE3. Games will never take advantage of PCIE SSD speeds as long as most PC users still use HDDs.

    • @switterbeet
      @switterbeet Před 2 lety +5

      @@kwedl when i load save games inside cyberpunk my NVME is way faster over my HDD so it does make sense for gaming, for everytime you load something up it is faster

    • @kwedl
      @kwedl Před 2 lety +2

      @@switterbeet I'm not saying it doesn't make sense over HDD, obviously it does, but overall 99% games don't even take advantage of PCIE3 speed, mostly just SATA SSD speeds and even then there is a limit.
      Only current gen consoles take full advantage of NVME speeds and that won't change until PCIE also becomes the norm for gaming on PC which it probably won't be for the next decade.

      just make sure you get TLC drives, you dont want QLC
      SLC MLC and TLC
      are what you want, MLC and SLC are extremely expensive.
      just be sure its a TLC drive

      @yousefalsammarraie4020 Před 2 lety +2

      @@gorka8295 TLC isnt better than the others, but its the standard of what you want, as it can keep its writing and reading speeds under control since it doenst have many layers to write to, so QLC has 4, TLC has 3, MLC has 2, SLC has 1
      a very popular drive in the MLC segment is called the 970 pro ( you can see how expensive that is for 1tb )
      QLC is almost not always but majority would recco against it as TLC drives are basically almost the same price and have better and performance and longevity overall.
      quick rundown, less layers you have, less work you go thru and the faster and better u do ur stuff.
      SLC drives are usually used in server situations as basically any decent amount of SLC drives can cost a leg and an arm

    Remember that you must turn off fast boot in win 11, otherwise the machine will go into something similar to (HIBERNAT)
    which means that win11 saves everything on the hard disk as an image and retrieves it when you start win 11. That way, everything does not have to be started all over again. the disadvantage is that if there is something wrong in win11, you will not get a clean boot

    Complete nonsense, if you think about the speeds and capabilities of SSDs are crazy, but not one game is still not supported, everything is locked at the cellular level, there is no point in buying expensive ssd, ssd sata 3 is enough

    From what i seen there is no significan result.
    If we are looking for any improvement on gaming or editing, this isnt the answer. Instead upgrade your VGA or cpu atleast. Cmiiw
    So, whats the potential we can exploit after we use gen 4 over 3? Transfer data? Backups? Any activity involving enourmous files?
    Because the information we know read/write gen 4 is better than gen 3

    thx for video, can you explain, i watch many video so in simple tests all ok but in real file is difference i see guy copy from ram disk to m.2 gen 3 and gen 4, speed was same 2gb/s, but cash was from intel optame what is limit to 2gb/s . so now i have sata ssd disk C windows 10 , and i buy samsung 980 pro for games, i can install like disk D for games only, or is better to use for system + games, in this case limit will be 5-7gb/s, minus is if system die will need to delete all, so i dont know what to do, in theory system + games will me max potential, or jsut to put only for games and stay system on sata 3
