Oh my gosh that’s so weird, I’m also Irish and roughly similar age and for some reason I also had a very strange reaction to ET as a child, like it really scared me, I saw maybe a brief bit of it on tv as a child and it really scared me, I didn’t watch it until a couple of years ago, like I was really scared of ET the alien itself. Strange. I think something like that gets seared into your brain a kid and has a strange affect on you, I’ve never come across anyone else who has had a reaction like that to that movie.
I was also terrified of that ugly thing to use his torch finger to give me an anal probe
I remember that my cousin cried all the way through E.T. when we were kids back in the day. I, on the other hand, loved it 😂.
