    Great Vid! As a T590 owner - I'm partial to these machines; sometimes you do feel like it could stall out, but you have to be really on something for that to happen. 95% of the time for fine grading or hogging dirt with a toothed bucket - no problems! Out here in CA we don't need doors.... so that solves that. Though we do have the enclosed cab on the new E35R we just got.

    I have a T190 I put a cutting edge on it that does help . Bobcat buckets are the best for volume Cat buckets are ridiculously tiny compared to there machines size and the best thing with the kubota bucket is the step tread . Bobcat equipment has always treated me well.

    I learned a lot. really was surprised how well the bobcat did pushing the dirt. Personally I stick with Cat, do to customer service and great financing options. Cat machines have been good to my dad and I when it comes to the long term reliability. when buying a machine there is a lot to consider and your videos have helped me understand some pro and cons.

  • @c.p.excavationandlandmanag4053

    They fixed the track system recently and it is just as open as Kubota and cat. Also they have a low profile bucket that would fix the cutting edge visibility.

    The company I work for owns 30+ Bobcat Skid Steers, from T300's to 870's. They are great machines, unfortunately since they were bought out the quality of the parts are not what they used to be. The one big advantage for us is when we need a part, its easy to find a bobcat dealer to get one. We do work all over the country, so that is a big deal for us. Bobcat owns about 63% of the skid steer market. Cat has around 30+% I think. So its relatively easy to find parts for them as well. If you are staying close to home base all the time, this is not really a big deal. The Kubota machines are really nice. If I were buying for my personal use thats what I would buy. But still, there are a lot of really good machines on the market. A lot of the decision to buy is based on how well the dealer treats you. If I were to own a dealership of any kind I would bend over backwards to make sure my customers had the support they needed. All the dealers have to do is act like they appreciate your business and take care of you in a timely fashion. And when your equipment breaks, make sure they get it fixed ASAP. Thats how you sell machines. Its easy to do, but for some reason, some people just don't get it. Go figure.

    • @garycrumrine9538
      @garycrumrine9538 Před 6 lety

      Yep, I agree, these things are bought to make money, and you can't make money when it goes down, and they DO go down. Usually at a bad or critical time. Kyle has said and I'll repeat it, it is all about service after the sale. I actually asked him to include the Bobcats and he was kind enough to oblige. I was just about ready to pull the trigger on an 870, but after doing a little homework I have backed off that. I just ordered a Takeuchi Excavator and after seeing how that goes, will probably end up with the model he tested in this series. Bobcat's only bad point is that their stuff is proprietary. Which means if you want a certain attachment, you have to buy a Bobcat. piece. which limits your choices. That is not to say they are not good machines, just that I may come across a deal on something that isn't wired the same and either have to pass, or spend time converting it. I like to be flexible.so I am going to pass on Bobcat. I think their quality started downhill when their company was bought out a while ago. I noticed the motors were changed as well.

    Great video again Kyle! You know my pick is the Takeuchi! I have never really even considered a bobcat or seen them as much as a contender. I just really like size of the Takeuchi, it feels like a dozer or tank. I have had mine for almost 6 years and 6800 hours later still no complaints. Yes it rides a little rougher than the rest but it's strong and handle the abuse of running it daily. I also feel the controls are better and more responsive than cat. Takeuchi is true hydraulic pilot controls so you don't have the hesitation like with the electric over hydraulic controls. Just my 2 cents, they all have their benefits that work for someone

      If you prefer hyd. pilot controls then you should have loved Takeuchi. They are the only one you tested with hyd. pilot controls. All other brands you tested have Eletric/hydraulic controls. It is cheaper and easier to produce Eletric/hydraulic controls, but Takeuchi refuses to switch. It is one of their name to fames with their instant precise true Hydraulic pilot controls.

    Hey, Kyle I've got a question, hopefully I can get a reply on your most recent video.
    I am looking to get into the excavation business, I have a about 4 years overall experience running equipment from a Bobcat T300 to a John Deere 350 excavator. I currently work for a family operated excavation company that's been around for a long time. We have had lots of rain and snow here recently and I have been out of work. I am considering looking for some bobcat work or something where I can rent the machine and do the work. Should I go and ask other excavation contractors in my area to throw some work my way if it's too small for them to deal with or whatever the case may be? Or should I just put ads up everywhere?

    Aside from the stalling error... I️ gotta day I️ think this may be the smoothest looking machine (from the outside) that you have operated in this test. How’d the stability compare to that of the 299d? My biggest concern with the Cat was the internal shaking in the cab and the overall balance of the machine was flawed due to the suspension: a long day in the Cat 299d seems like a sore back to me.

    • @AveryExcavating
      @AveryExcavating  Před 6 lety

      In that machine (299) it would be a sore back for sure, I had a sore back for over a year when I ran one. My Cat rep watches and says there is a solution to that would help balance/smooth out the ride. The cat has great balance as far as lifting capability - and I really like how nimble and small the 299 feels compared to the others - wish it had a bigger cab lol!

    I have not experienced it myself, but isn't Bobcat's attachments fairly proprietary? That is crucial when you have several different brands in the inventory and wanting to swap a forestry head or anything to a different brand requires some wiring and computer wizardry I am told. I know there are adapters but I'd rather not deal with that. ALTHOUGH, Bobcat DOES make many things the others DON"T have.

    Computer/ hydraulic auto shut down due to overloading the engine hydraulics. Try to keep a more consistent rpm especially when pushing too much fill/ under load conditions. Listen to the engine under load when you have the bucket full and are still trying to push the entire pile, if the engine stalls under such a load engine damage can occur. Brain shuts down to prevent damage and tell operator, back off I only can do so much. Remember the engine is only putting out 2/3 to 1/2 rpm under load that means less torque/ hp while your maxing out all hydraulic systems.

    One thing that kind of pushed me away from the Bobcat, and trust me, I REALLY LIKE THEM, was the fact that you are kind of locked into their attachments. their controls and wiring are proprietary, which makes it difficult to select some other brand of implement if it is computer/electrical controlled. Now you CAN buy adapter cables and all, but I really hate to putz with it, especially if we are talking electronics. I know you are shying away from the Tak in your comments, and I'd lay even money that you choose the Kubota SVL-95 as your next workhorse, and I get that. It was what I was looking at buying originally, but in the end, I wanted something that is going to work every day, and not spend time in the shop. Not saying the SVL-95 wouldn't fit the bill, but there are other factors at play too. Like TAK's mini Ex. Which outguns the Kubota KX080 by a wide margin. Lastly one thing to keep in mind, I am not making a living running one of these. This is all for my personal use and my needs are very different than the average guy who wants to put food on the table.

    I don't have the advantage of being in the driver's seat on this, but judging by the video, with the exception of the stall out, I think the bobcat did pretty well. It seemed to power through the initial hill, the reverse action seemed to me that it was the fastest of the bunch. Bear in mind, that could have been because of the camera location, as you set it up much closer than you did for the others. Also, don't they have an 870? Which may have been more in the Tak Class size wise. I don't know, I really like the Tak after seeing and running one, but one of my main uses will be both mulching and lifting trees onto my sawmill. I would like to see an SVL95 run through the same tests to see if it has just that little bit more to push it over the top. Right now I am leaning towards the Tak for a couple reasons. Durability as you said with the larger pins and boom IS a major factor. Forestry mulching is HARD on equipment so that is important. Lastly, I am very old school where bigger is always better. I have a dump truck, so towing isn't an issue. I ordered the TaK 290 Mini Excavator already, and I feel comfortable with the same brand for the track loader as well. Definitely the 12. Just wish I didn't have to wait for the Mini Ex to come in. Bummer.

    • @AveryExcavating
      @AveryExcavating  Před 6 lety +1

      I learned that TAK has the TL12V which is the vertical lift and the standard TL12 that is radius lift - tree farmers like the standard radius lift better than the vertical for loading flatbed trucks. but if you ever load your dump with it, i'd def want the vertical. The TAK is huge...I think the TL12 should really be in a class of its own IMO. I also think a better comparison would have been with the TL10 on this round but hindsight is always that. As far as the Kubota I have heard by quite a few people that the newer 95 has a lot more ummfff than the 90. Thanks for watching!

    • @garycrumrine9538
      @garycrumrine9538 Před 6 lety

      thanks for the advice on the vertical versus radius lift. I agree for my needs the vertical is the way to go. I don't haul a lot with the dump truck, but when I do, I try to use the right tool. My sawmill is set up stationary now, with a long infeed set of rails so I don't see any problem with using the vertical in that capacity.
