lyrik auf hochdeutsch:
MAIENZEIT:
Maienzeit,
Freudenzeit,
Fröhlichkeit
weit und breit,
Ihre Rückkehr kann uns Hoffnung geben.
Auf dem Feld,
wohlbestellt,
wächst die Welt,
wie's gefällt,
Bunte Blumen, die zur Sonne streben.
Manche Knospe ist schon aufgesprungen,
Selbst im Wald
ist's nicht kalt,
wenn's schon bald
laut erschallt,
Wilder wird doch selten nur gesungen.
Aber ich
schreibe nicht
mein Gedicht
übers Licht,
Dieser Mai kann mir nicht Frieden bringen.
Diese Zeit
ist voll Leid,
fühle Neid,
suche Streit,
Will jetzt keine Frühlingslieder singen.
Werden wir die Liebe wieder sehen?
Ich verzage
alle Tage,
wenn ich klage
und euch sage,
Selbst die schönste Blüte muss vergehen.
Große Not,
denn mir droht
ein Idiot
mit dem Tod,
Das ist Hildebold von Berenreute.
Irenfried
und der Schmied,
jeder flieht,
Amelolt,
Berenbolt,
hab'n gewollt,
dass man Gold
Für meinen Kopf bezahlt im Preußenlande.
Als ich sah:
Sie sind da,
ging ich Narr
zu der Schar.
Ich wollte wissen, was die Schnösel machen.
Irenbeer
protzte schwer,
schwang den Speer
hin und her.
ENGLISH:
The time of May,
without jealousy,
happiness goes around(?),
against the fight.
It (the time of May) returning, can help us all.
With the plan.
Without illusion,
one can see
brown little flowers stand next to yellow ones.
They have already spread among the grass.
And the sound (of the birds?) sounds
through the forest,
often,
uncountable.
Nobody ever sung better in there.
I wouldn't sing
like they do,
if I had peace.
I hope for it.
I hope someone help me with this.
I gave up hope,
my pain.
It's still huge.
I'd take it, if someone could release me from this (pain).
Looking at my love - it can make me mad.
This is my complaint.
Every day -
and I remain silent,
without courage.
Looking at my love, please remain - the sight at my love.
The one
who threatens me with death,
causes great distress.
That's Hildebolt von Bernreut.
Crazy person
and the blacksmith
should be hanged.
So they would not annoy the people.
Ameioth,
Berinbolt,
They allowed me to get sold
to go to Prussia. - Hudba
Here comes the Manor Lords boys! so glad they added my favourite medieval song to the game.
So cool to see this style of music being popularized by what looks like is going to be a really successful videogame.
It hits differently when you are in actual bavarian Alps in May, trust me) I’ve been listening to it every year in the beginning of May since 2018, cursing that rat Hildebolt von Berenreute, whoever he was, and was positively surprised that he’s your enemy in rhe game :-)
Great to see this song and Hildebold in Manor Lords!
Ich liebe es... Es ist perfekt.. Diese melodie.. Un dann der freche provokante energische Gesang.. Lieblingslied❤
Fiellen dank 🎉
only 1230s kids remember this!
oh nice funny original joke.
Yeah that was a fresh one
Go fuck yourself with this bullshit meme is hanging bellow every Medieval video.
@@kiba3x You're fun!
I'm just paying a quick visit back from the 2530s and I remember this as I grew up. My mum was a witch and my dad was a warlock and they used to tell me fantastic tales of a race, 500 years ago, that flew high in magic tubes of iron and raced across heath and moor in chariots that ran faster than a frightened mare, yet had no horse to pull them, and could see to the ends of the earth on eldritch glowing boxes like a scrying glass that was about the size of a goose. This was of course all before the War of the Magic Suns soon after when men fired terrorous catapults of war trhat burneth hotter than a thousand thousand fires, that rose like an evil Sun in the west and north, and south and east yet too, and these fires of Hell could destroy an entire city faster than a hundred armies. So I just had to come back and take a look. Your Eldritch boxes are quite cool, writing on one now, but I prefer our own scrying glasses. Your magic chariots are rather rubbish though.

I discovered this late but this is incredible, I wouldn't expect those kind of songs in manor lords, they are so authentic! It truly shows the passion of the dev!
You're about 600 years late my guy
@@granola661 and so what?

@@granola661 Are you trying to say something or?
@@draxbob2476 I am sayin you are 600 years late. Nothing else.
These were the good old days. I remember me, Hans and Helga sitting in the roof of the Mitteldeutsches Haus we were renting a room in. We listened to Frau Ada, the daughter of Ritter Bartholomäus. She sat up there with us too, and this was one of the songs she knew by heart.
I haven’t seen them in a few years, unfortunately. I saw Ada a few days ago at the Obstgarten picking fruit. From talking to her I know that she and Helga are still close friends, and live in the same Hüttenhaus. It’s very small, and they have to sleep in the same bed.
Neither me nor they have heard from Hans, especially after we distanced ourselves in 58’. I’ve heard he’s married with children. Despite our differences, I hope he is doing well.

I am listening to this & drinking 9% Red Ale my friend made from what he calls a 'Late Medieval' recipe...The two seem to go together quite well!

Ha! Well that certainly took an unexpected turn! Great song, and brilliantly performed too - major kudos to these guys.

Middle Ages: "Hold my Kriegmesser"

I like how you copied and pasted it from the info box, unfortunately you've copied the translation mistakes too.
I mean have you ever seen flowers with brown blossoms?
You're welcome! I'm glad to hear you liked my previous comment. Jk
Tbh. When I recently rediscovered our conversation, I felt more balanced and thought to myself, "Actually, you're right, and it would be beneficial to introduce people to this valuable cultural heritage of german history and maybe even someone discovers a new interest for the medieval time period."
That's why I tried to translate the text into English as accurately as i can. The translation is based on the original text I found online. You can find it in the comment section from now on. Enjoy. :)

@@user-ci2lk3nc3d Slavs and Germans come from a common primordial line that came from Africa to Eurasia about 100000 Sears ago. We are connected and have very similar culture. Splendid.

the viewer retention on this video is excellent
Very Good !
Damn, these rhymes slap hard. I love this. Btw any German speakers out there, how much of this do you understand? Are there words in this song that aren't used in the modern language anymore?
Just by hearing I can understand single words/sentences but if I look on the original lyrics I can understand it. You can imagine it as a very complicated dialect
@@Kkkkkjs wow, that's very cool! It's pretty amazing that a song from the medieval ages can be understood by modern speakers.
As a native speaker I do understand most of it.
Due to the fact the German language has changed over the past few hundred years I had to check the lyrics to understand the whole meaning of this song. There were many details I've missed as I was listening to this song.
@@schnoorkind. nice
I am not a native speaker, but i understood that Hildebold von Bernruite and his buddies are cheeky rats and must be punched in the face on sight :-)

May-time offers joy competing amicably with jealousy,
Its return can help us all.
In the meadow anyone can see
Bright purple little flowers next to the yellow ones.
They are already scattered among the grasses,
And in the forest unceasing and manifold sounds
From myriad voices as were never heard before.
I wouldn't sing like they do if I had the peace I long for,
If only someone would comfort me.
I am disconsolate, my grief is so large,
I wish someone could release me from this pain.

So they would not annoy people!

Codex Manesse, Camina Burana und etliche weitere, einfach mal nachforschen.
Is this from Neidhart?
Yes, but the song to it was made later. I do not know if Neidhard found a transmission oft notes. But the Vertoner has certainly closely oriented to the traditional style of singing of the middle age.
Fast so ähnlich
Neidhart only knows how to make straight bops

Who is "Hildebold von Berenreute" in this lyrik?
Hildebold von Berenreute threatens Neidhart with death. Others also cause stress because a bounty on Neidhart would be paid.
(was a translation error), correct : For the death of Neidhart is offered a premium (Gold).
I don't believe the English translation is correct. Good song otherwise!
yes. some parts of the translation are missing :(
The english translation seems to have only have 5 paragraphs but this guy gets like 6-7 stanza's.
whats up tempus transit gallidum xd
