for anyone wondering: the imager on ozone is like the a1stereocontrol. it can make sound wider (stereo) or more narrow (mono). with ozone you can control this for certain parts of the frequency spectrum. let's say you want to make your snare and hi-hats more stereo, but just the high end. you can use a tool like that to make just the high frequencies more wide.
Waves Vitamin has this feature also, and is really great for highlighting certain frequencies without having to boost EQ too much
This was actually really helpful, thank you!
The fact that the majority of producers have serious issues getting their beats/music to sound good, and you make it seem effortless. That’s mad respect man ✊🏿. Thanks for passin along the game
that title though 😂
Idk man lol
gotta get that guaranteed
@@LDreTheGiant dont rely on clickbait to get views my guy you wont need it if your content quality
@@user-je4rh6bb6z Replying in a comment doesn’t get you views dumbass and most of the Lofi does get millions of views due to Spotify recommendations
@@yungfry3805 ok buddy
I have to say I do love that you make is\t very clear that you aren’t a pro mixer it gives me a lot of respect for you.. most producers act like they are an expert when it comes to mixing and mastering and myself being a mixing and mastering engineer for years before I became a producer that always bothered me but you always make it clear that this is what you do.. not necessarily pro advice.. awesome videos keep the, up man
This must be the best thumbnail I've seen in a while xD chilledcow would be proud 😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
This is really great for the new wave of producers. Don’t kill your creations with too much eq/compression! Let that track sing!
The ozone imager is a stereo image controller. It allowds you to wide up the sounds or make it "more mono" in a lot of ways. Sometimes it can be usefull!
The CZcams play button in the garage!! I love it! The contrast is great. I’ve been here since the beginning, the progression is amazing.
Keep working bro!!
Yo much love !!
My man wanted 300k listeners a year ago, now he's at 1.5 mill.
Well deserved
This really helped me mixing and mastering my beat! Just came here straight from a mix i did which felt bad to me... after your video i took a new try to it and it sounds really good now haha!
Thank you
great tutorial man that multi limiter trick is gold 👍 with drum rack you can separate out the individual sounds to different tracks. just add a new audio track, change the input from ext. in to drum rack and then you can select whatever pad you want from the second drop down menu. repeat for each drum, then you gotta set the monitor on each audio track to in and mute the drum track. it's a bit of work but it's one way to keep all your drums in one midi track and still have them on their own tracks for more flexibility while mixing. it also allows you to bounce your drums to audio in one click without messing with the drum rack or your midi patterns.
Totally agree ppl overthinking everything, you never get anything done
my gawd i love this guy hahaha
"this imager i don't even know what an imager is, i don't know what this does"
i've learnt a lot about lofi from you....especially using lower case characters for a e s t h e t I c l o o k
4:29 had me dead 💀💀💀 goat video as always
Hahaha thanks G 🙏🏾
duplicate the kick is the same that raise de volume in +3 dB cause its a logarithm scale
FREE Lofi Vocals Sample Pack - avistea.gumroad.com/l/cFomq
I'd think so. Never heard of anyone just duplicating a track before...
*+6 dB
Lmaooo “I don’t even know what a limiter is”
an imager tells you if your stereo field is causing phase issues, there should be a line at the bottom and 2 lines making an arrow that converge at the centre point of that line. if the activity on that meter glides out past the arrow you have phase issues! hope that helps
Congrats on 120k subs man
Thank you !
Back at it again!
i love this vid, this really helped me a lot, thanks bro
Yo L Dre congrats on 120 K subs
Waaaah didn’t even realize thank you !!
i'm always waiting for your new video every midnight here in philippines
your humor is outstanding like always . Great tutorial !
Thank you 🙏🏾
yo thanks for this. not only was it a solid tutorial but you definitely don't make me feel like I can only mix one way. Shout out for not gatekeeping how beats should sound
Just getting started into lofi so I copped your new drum kit and NEEDED this video so THANK YOU BRO!
Few more plugins to add to my list! 😅
Hey man, love your vids.
Thank you 🙏🏾
it would really help if you watched some videos on mastering here and there just to pick up a couple skills , not saying you should stop using presets yet but once you're comfy enough with your new mastering knowledge you'll thank yourself. trust me
cos i see you have stereo separation at the end of your mastering chain but more than likely you dont want your bass frequencies to be widened, so you probably want to use ozones stereo imager to control each frequency ranges widening independently
Yeah I definitely should take the time to do that. Also forgot to mention the plugin has a button that excludes the low frequencies
I can't afford that shit so I do it manually for every track :'l
Duplicating the kick is similar to +12dB gain; but layering it exactly in time can lead to phase cancellation; if you do so, go to very detailed mode and move it 1 or 2 ms ahead of the others so that you don't get phase cancellation on the fundamental frequencies..
Sounds so easy to do but you have to do it right.... thanks for this video!
imager makes your joint wider. like a complex panning/stereo tool.
9:49
best advice
"The Fug KICK", I need to make one definitely 😁
L.dre got that heat!!!🔥🔥🔥
🙏🏾🙏🏾
Thanks for all of these tips !
I'm a lofi producer too, and I hope I'll succeed to get playlisted on Spotify in the next months. keep going on bro' 🙏🏻 bless you
Man now i know there is no rule in mixing man you doing it soo fucking different i don't know how it's turn to sound good
That’s what I’m saying 🤣🤣🤣
it's cool to see your process! glad I do a lot of this stuff already ^_^
Let’s goooooo
L.Dre
Thanks L.Dre You man bro.
Thank you so much L.Dre that helps sooo much !
You’re one of my favorite CZcams producers but of course we use different DAWS lol
Yo man thank you for ur mixes it help
Big inspiration brudda
Humble dude! Great vid bro!
Thanks for the Vibin Tutorials
nice video 🙏 btw. if you put the limiter to the end of your Master chain , you also never have the problem of being in the red zone (over 0 ) but i guess the glue comp. does the same job 😅
Let’s go with da flow my favourite beats are Lori trap beats you did it again l.dre
The universe knew I needed this
Imager makes your frequencies wider or the other way around! Its like waves s1 Imager but with more controls
Ahhhhhh thank you ool
Imager has less control than S1 actually when it comes to overall imaging, but it has two modes of imaging whereas S1 doesn’t, and the advanced version of imager also has multi-band imaging (L.Dre has the advanced version)
Ozone has one and it's one of the best imager you can have for free
Im too lazy to learn mastering so I just got the ozone 9 for free and I just throw it on my master and let the plugin do the work :D
Honestly if it comes out sounding good then who cares
@@LDreTheGiant lol so true
You got it free? I paid like $30 for the Ozone 9 Elements bundle, dang 🧐
@@NoThumb yeah I got neutron elements and ozone 9 elements for free from plug-in boutique
The Lo-Fi Guy no, it goes on sale pretty often
I rarely enjoy the tutorials as much as the music, but in your case...it's all top quality!
Thanks for the tips
super inspiration. thnx man
R.I.P fudge kicks
This was amazing! Learned alot from this.
excellent!!!
L DRE BRO YOU ARE PRO!
if there is one person i know who has me on the lofi side of things is l.dre 100%
Thanks!
Great! 👊
Guaranteed!!!!
no one:
L DRE: nothing too crazy
Which of your drum kits is best for lo fi beats?
I like a lot of Cymatics stuff but lately I’ve been making my own sounds for a new kit
thx for tut. You could also use transient shaper, rbass, inflator, saturation, compressor and neutron sculptor with kick. No needed to layer 2 kicks. Just saying :D
He like "pch frr little fudge kick"🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣dope vid🔥
Excellent video, thank you!!
Thanks for sharing!
all duplicating your kick without any change to the duplicate does is double the amplitude seeing as they are exactly in phase
it didnt do anything raising the db level wouldn't do
Big fax
📠
Good to know
😜@@LDreTheGiant It works tho amplifying the signal raises its level. Dope
I like this. Thank you.
Good stuff!
Im not a lofi type but more heavier boom bap/trap/hiphop type but I think it is the only way to get views on Spotify to make lofi if you make instrumentals. Am I right? If not give me please examples. Good channel btw :D
Thaaank u ! 💕 can i ask what omnisphere instrument do you usually use?
I like to play around in the keyboards and retro synth tabs
L.Dre thaaanks!
very usefull, thanks
fire beat bruh
Great video! I want to see how you export audio from mpc to your DaW.
I'm so early! This comment is to anyone,
I hope you have a amazing day!
4:30 wotthe my ears broo
How master with ozone 11?
Did you have some bird songs in there? Fire bruhh
Yesssiirrr from my lofi samples vol. 1 kit
You said turning up the volume of your kick is weird, but isn't duplicating the track the same thing?
Could you do one on arranging please?
FREE Lofi Vocals Sample Pack - avistea.gumroad.com/l/cFomq
Cool
Do you put master beats when uploading on beatstar on giving to a artist
Yo. So when you duplicate the kick drum all you’re doing is making the sample twice as loud. You’re just turning up the volume without turning up the volume. What would have made more sense would be to take the low end out of the duplicate and distort it, then add it back into the original kick.
Could you make a video about some quick tips and tricks for ableton? I’m switching to it and that would be perfect
What would you like to know specifically?
L.Dre idk maybe just like things that make your work flow smooth or something like that
bro those soda can speakers got me 💀😆
Bro do i need to copyright my music before uploading it to Spotify?
Can i monetize my music whitout copyright?
Eii what app or software is thattt???
Fudge kick 😂
dope
what distributor do you use !?
Distrokid! Hit the link in my description
Yeah. I mix as I go. I am very OCD about my mix.
Curious, why do you use Loudmax vs. the Ableton limiter?
I've just really started on making lofi music. should I always start off with drums to a lofi beat? I need tips I'm a beginner lol.
how r u doing 6 months later
did you keep the loudness about to -14db?? please lemme know thanks
My new rapper name “lil’ fudge kick”
You are setting threshold on a compressor to -0.1, but what about the fact that spotify recommends -1, whould't it clip or something when spotify lowers the volume with the own compressor?
U r being YOU in these vids for your subscribers! so u deserved my sub bro cuz i wasn’t . Instant fan
Man Ableton is so complex man, I can't even find where the faders are. I can't even see the Master lol
Press tab on your keyboard makes it easier to see all that
you have beautiful hands, boy. nice tutorial ;)
