I don’t think it’s about trump in general, but the financial elites. The only thing that may reference trump is them knocking down the wall, though I think he just meant the wall between the rich and poor.

I gathered this was about wealthy politicians in general with the wall being between the wealthy and the poor. Just my take on it, though.
no, i think this is about biden because of how trashed our economy is, him tearing the wall trump built, and the taxes applied by biden with the funding he provided to other countries. he is basking off of the money he is charging the people and this i think refers to the scraps we are left with (the money we have left after the taxes)
To me this song applies to almost ALL politicians not just left or right. We are all being exploited for their gain.

The former of each will not budge on personal agendas, everyone else be damned, regardless of who it hurts, and we all know Trump is like that. He brags about being like that. Not to mention being openly bigoted. Some of the policies enacted did do good for us, I won't deny that, and like I said, I agree that we need someone who'll think for themselves and take charge. The people who say "politics don't belong in music" are privileged enough that their existence, their right to live, isn't inherently political. Some people have to deal with the government debating whether they're allowed to continue to have human rights, and for those of people, it's probably cathartic to get to hear a song like this that expresses such frustration, especially in such an aggressive way. So stoked for June 10th!

Man, this is super ironic. Chris (the lead singer) is a pretty hardcore progressive leftist, which is fine. Like Devon said, everybody is entitled to their own opinion. When Chris wrote this song, it’s pretty obvious, from his point of view, that he wrote it about the Trump administration. What’s funny is that this song is describing what is going on right now in our country absolutely perfectly. I know that it’s totally not what Chris intended. But if you read the lyrics and compare them to what is going on in our country right now, it’s clear as day. Our politicians are just getting rich off of our suffering and they want to control everything in our lives. They don’t care about us. They just care about taking our money, regardless of how many people suffer and die. I don’t care which side of the aisle that you’re on, this should piss you off!!

I know it’s obvious but can I remind everyone of how cool it is that channels like this find a genre of music that they started unsure of and have now amerced in the genre and that we see how much it’s made a good impact in their life. The political nature of the lyrical content disagreements aside, i think we can all as metalheads agree that since we got 2 breakdowns in this track that means the track gets a rating of 20 out of 10. I mean it's just basic arithmetic at this point, after all, double the filthy breaking, double the highly rating.. just as the good lord intended.

It’s about the Uber wealthy, the wall is between the haves and the have nots so technically Trump is in that group of people. I love that you can still enjoy the music regardless my guy. I think it’s more about corporate greed and greedy politicians.
I think it's just about the wealthy elite more than any specifics. Wealthy elite living large, while the regular people, us, live day to day. The gap gets larger and larger. So, we break the wall between us.
And the fact that song gives off such strong political vibes, or this message in general, makes it even better! I've listened to it several times now and shared it... Some people don't like it because of this message, or the "fascist" line, but well... I don't care to be honest... Yeah I gotta admit when I saw the thumbnail for this video I was nervous as heck to witness this reaction but the way you dealt with the lyrical content was so refreshing and contagious and comforting. I think its about our government in general, not necessarily Trump. At least that was my impression of it. I also lean right and I've had this on repeat since it dropped.
Porcelain was my favorite to start off, but the whole album is a banger and that's just what I've come to expect from MIW, but the only exception is Masterpiece - The Motion Picture Collection version. That orchestra and Chris's vocals are a magical combination.

While this song may have been written specifically about the trump administration which I didn't know till Gibby said it, I interpreted it as an attack directly at how the wealthy control everything, and we are in fact "a slave to our wealth". Everything is dependent on how much money you have.
I agree that folks shouldn't be afraid to grind a little harder if they have to. Kind of a lesson I got slapped in the face with in recent years, lol. I don't think that's what people are upset about, though. There are legitimate cases of people being held down for selfish reasons, and it's unwise to ignore them, I think. By all means, grind harder, and that can mean fighting for people who aren't given a chance, too.

I definitely thought it was in reference for what's going on right now and how the elites have too much power. Chris might be progressive which is fine since everyone is entitled to choose what they want. But you also have to remember if you come out and say you are republican(not saying he is but this political party is the one everyone gets mad about). I might be stretching here but if you think about it, in 2013 MIW released 'America' which was during the Obama era. The first line of the song being "oil prices are so high we cant feed ourselves" i think this line sets up the message behind the song. Compare the lyrics to what was going on then. Then you have 'Thoughts and Prayers' which he has said in an interview you can find on google how he believes that religion is always linked with tragedies and should not. Also mentioned gun control in that same sentence. Then we have this song 'Slaughterhouse' come out and its exactly what's going on now. I think Chris is probabaly progressive leaning however probabaly sees positives on both sides maybe? Like being a supporter of the LGBT+ community which is great. I am down the middle so I see positives on both sides as well. I have an open mind and think freely. I was raised Catholic (a lot of religons obviosuly dont support LGBT+), I support the LGBT+ community, and a metal head so I check all the boxes to be shunned from my extended family which I am and that's fine.
