Aint nothing wrong with the single cam motor keep it the way she is. She is beautiful and clean. The older you get it aint about speed anymore. Keeping it low, slow, clean is the way

99 ek here with D16Y7 built natural aspirated, converted to manual si transmission, ac delete, power steering delete looped, short ram intake and tuned myself, shit rips.

I found a 98' DX Hatch just like this, that I'm planning on buying soon. I don't know much about cars though. What does the EK stand for?

I got 1 last week 96 Dx hatch auto for $2800 unmolested.
Got one a month ago GLI (Red) ,only problem is clear coat is coming off cause of how Japanese cars aren’t designed for the uv rays here in New Zealand. But honestly doesn’t matter to me as I’m most likely gonna get it re painted some time in the future. Great car I must say, fell in love with these things right from when I first saw one my friends dad owns. I have a lot planned for this car as I want to try making it into a type r replica as I think those are pretty sick, but just gotta clean it up a bit before I start working on it. Gonna be one of the very few un riced civics as I seem to be seeing them around more and makes me sad that such a beautiful car got put into the wrong hands.

They’re selling one for 3600 but I think I might be able to get it down to somewhere between 2800-3000 and the exterior and interior look pretty well kept but it has 250k miles. I plan on an engine swap but do you think that motor has at least 50k miles left or is it just done already?

Nice man! I’m leaning towards a b20 swap too! I’ll be honest with you the mini me conversation doesn’t make that much of a difference. I drove my friend’s car with a y7 and it felt exactly the same as my car. If anything I’d recommend a header and exhaust. It will wake it up a little.

I heard they were easy to steal. What can you do for security if i decide to do a ek build?
It is true. Civics are one the highest stolen cars in the US. If you watch my other video, my friend has this 4 door EK stolen and we had to put it back together. There’s a ton you can do for security. You just gotta do some research. I’ve Heard some people have just taken their ECU out whenever they park the car somewhere. You can install a kill switch or do a detachable steering wheel.
Check engine on light on class Honda! Same with my 2000 civic ex sedan both check engine and abs lights are on 😂
