I can't wait to buy a Hololens. I'm way more excited for augmented reality as opposed to virtual reality, and this is amazing!

why? its way cooler to sit and watch a movie on the moon or play a game in a different world, rather than watch a movie on a screen in your room..... you can already do that with a tv...or shoot robots coming out of your wall when you could shoot robots in some cool otherwise impossible environment. *sigh farewell vr you never even came close to your full potential

It works fine with mirrors. I have not had any issues with the giant mirror I have.
I’m 3 years late but i feel like that would crash your Hololens.
I think that Hololens could be used A LOT outside specially for driving where you can have all the info you need in front of you, such as GPS, infrared camera and all the panel info that could be replaced.
So since its Windows, does that mean I'd be able to stream my xbox gameplay into the Hololense?

Do you know what developer kit means?It is meant for developers to make apps!It is not consumer edition,thats why Microsoft doesnt advertise it.And obviously apps are to be made now so that by the time it gets launched for the consumers, it'll have pretty good number of apps.The price?Its one of kind tech and it new! It will be expensive,anything which is new to technology world and expensive.It gets cheaper as more OEMs will follow the suite.(It surely will be cheaper than developer kit).And what why are talking about VR?Neither PoGo or hololens are related to VR,theyre augmented reality,it think you got confused between AR and VR

I really wanna These Glasses be a thing, i would totally buy that for $300+ after 2-3 years when they really well-developed right now i don't think they really easy to use
One thing I hope you can do with stuff like hololens in the future is that you can be multiple persons and see the same hologram, I guess you cant do it now. I mean just Imagine you have a 3D/hologram map of something and you are a engineer team walking around it and looking at the same hologram at the same spot!
Google Glass=Bad Smart Watch for your head.
I can see myself using Google Glass a lot more than HoloLens. I want information while I'm mobile, Glass has that information tucked away, easily accessible when I want it but not blocking my field of view when I don't. I hope Glass will keep that streamlined approach if and when the final version is released.
Having full blown Windows in glasses is simply overkill, especially when full PCs are still ubiquitous.

No one liked google glass because it was so weird to have that on the head, and now is AR time, glass was a awesome idea for everyone. I don't think the products are comparable those target different use cases, of course you can compare a bike and a car I suppose.

i dont think he said anything about the prices different.
VR and Hololens will go the same way as 3D and motion controls. Fun at first but then annoying. Hololens would be frustrating knowing you couldnt touch the objects.
You could touch things the camera knows what your trying to do like thio was using hand motions to click on things and other motions to drag thing etc.
But vr has a specific use, like in simulators/games instead of gimmicks like motion controls that are just cool at first

Until Hololens gets to the size of normal glasses, it will only be a gimmick. Even in private I would not seem to use it since it basically is a computer that you wear. If I were at home I would rather just use my computer or smartphone. Gaming wise, I'm just waiting for PSVR and now Xbox with Oculus support. I can see how for engineers or people that need to display that much information at once it would be useful, but for the average citizen, it wont be worth it.

I really think microsoft hololens is better than Google glass
But also people forget that these companies all label these things as developer versions they want the communitys to make the content for these products
It's like saying yeah we did the work to make them y'all figure out what the hell they can do because we have no fucking idea where to go from here. That's the vibe I get when I wear my epsons, but it's true I mean why else would they not have any apps or programs for these products? If done one wants to be a millionaire drop everything else in your life and just make shit for this AR stuff and you'll be the next step jobs that's straight to the truth, just saying, some one needs to do it and claim the belt. They wont be able to improve the field of vision and keep it running off an internal integrated tablet chip . The reason VR is so demanding is because to achieve a wide field of view you need powerful GPU's to counteract the lens distortion with extremely low latency and that distortion only occurs at wide fields of view . Small TV glasses have been around since the mid 1990's and a lot of these AR devices are just similar devices , but with HD cameras , low powered mobile processors and more modern LCD's . VR already has support for clip-on cameras to add AR support and VIVE already has aftermarket wireless support . You must have a powerhouse computer to create a great VR/AR experience with a wide field of view . And even if you could shrink the fastest rigs into the space of a pair of glasses in the future , just think what you could achieve with a giant rig wirelessly powering that headset .
