Chaque année en août, et depuis 1984, se déroule à Arette (France, Pyrénées Atlantiques) une épreuve comptant pour le Championnat de France de Montée impossible, ou Hill Climb.
Désormais organisée par le Moto Club d'Arette.
Each year in August, and since 1984, is held in Arette (France, Pyrénées Atlantiques) a test counting for the Championship of France "montée impossible" (hill climb).

You fucking dirt bike guys have 0 finesse with the throttle, it's always full throttle and hold on. I can ride that hill on my trails bike, 3rd gear, barely any throttle, all day long.

Well, you know, these bikers know that very well... Stop considering them as stupid, please, you are so ridiculous!
The fun and excitation is to use this kind of bikes, not trails or trial bikes. Nobody would come to look at trails bikes climbing this hill when the event occured.
But it's full of people with these dangerous bikes.

This so stupid. Any kid on a proper trials motorcycle will climb this quietly, elegantly and using 1/10 of the amount of fuel.

Kinda what I was thinking. Immediately going full throttle the rider has already screwed themselves from the start. More speed= less traction loss of momentum less control over the bike and an almost 100% guarantee the rider wipes out.

@@dispatch444 Exactly, but in retrospect, perhaps it is all the noise, drama and theatrics that make this so appealing to many people. A kid silently crawling its way in a trials bike wouldn't be interesting at all, I suppose. And, what people ultimately want to see are the spectacular failures and tumbling down.

You don't understand anything about this kind of event, it's so embarrassing in fact.
This event is a real show which attracts a lot of people because of the use of this type of motorbikes.
So, it's spectacular, dangerous, impressive and so difficult.
Trial is interesting and spectacular too, but this is not the matter here at all.
