I sometimes type the name of Peralta in my youtube searching bar and hope, by any miracle, to see something new.

His last performance, and elegy that Mingus wrote for the passing of an artist.
Wow. How ominous
this music is serious and dangerous
2023-and I still listen to this over and over---once again reminded of the genius that was Mingus and Joni Mitchell---and this interpretation by Austin Peralta and Natasha Agrama only reinforce that and display their own genius.....
There's an ill jam session going on in another dimension right now conducted by a very special cluster of consciousness.
Coltrane, Davis, Guaraldi, Peralta, and the angel Gabriel from The Twilight Zone.
I cant believe he died literally hours after this performance. Although its very sad, it really shows his ability and talent as an artist. Shred In Peace!
You can see it in his face how happy this made him, i wish i had something like that
You do!!! U must find it...
God this kid was so talented. His dad was one of my biggest heroes as a kid and when I discovered his Jazz thru Flying Lotus I became an instant fan, unfortunately he died soon after but his legacy remains and performances like this will live on.
Stacey would be proud to hear that. Indeed
"Though you travel beyond
Your legacy lives on
Now enter the void
Forever the Jondy"

WHO ELSE WAS INTRODUCED TO AUSTIN P THROUGH THUNDERCAT ... #EPIC Rest In Power Austin
I was through Daedelus, Austin played on Looking Ocean then Daedelus wrote the album Drown Out in his memory - then FlyLo and the DMT song.
Amon tobin brought me here. Austin's cover of bedtime stories was sublime. RIP
yep!
No idea how I came upon Austin Peralta. Given enough time, his brief brilliant starlight will shine way out of proportion to his brief time spent here.
Introduced through Ben Wendel for me
very scary that this was his exact last night before he passed the next morning, beautiful man.
It’s even crazier that this song was a homage for Lester Young by Charles Mingus. Lester Young was a tenor saxophonist who died around the 1950’s or so.
... you know someone great has gone...
RIP Austin, and as of a few years ago once COVID hit, RIP blue whale too. A fantastic performance in what was one of the finest jazz venues in the country.
RIP Austin. It was a real thrill and honor to have met and played with you. Thank you.
You can tell that Badbadnotgood were inspired a lot by Austin.
RIP Austin Peralta, such a great talent that was taken from us way too early.
Natasha Agrama is divine.
No jazz in heaven? Jazz IS heaven! Especially this kind.
Marloes Kuiters “Jazz is heaven”... beautiful
after watching this video for several years just realized louis cole is on the drums
Now… as a drummer and an Austin fan. Who is Louis Cole? Yes, that is a stupid question
Natasha Agrama, you shine there! i sing this song as well and you made me cry! (a 57 yrs old man!) kudos!
Rest in peace, genius
Incredible. This performance (by the whole band) is enough to bring me to tears. And then you find out Austin died hours after this show. So tragic. I feel so terrible for those who knew and loved him.
Came back to this so many years later when I heard Mac Miller give Austin an "RIP" shout on one of his"behind the song" videos just now. Reminded me of Austin's greatness, as well as the profound losses Thundercat has endured. I wish artistic genius wasn't so fragile, but thankful to have witnessed these greats sharing their crafts while they could 🙏🏾
Life sucks, drugs seem like the answer but they’re only a fatal bandaid
Which Mac vid?
Every so often I come back to this phenomenal piano solo @ 6:49
R.I.P Austin
I just discovered the guy... what a shame...
I've watched this at least 50 times and I still get chills everytime
Don't forget it!
watched this at least 100 times a year since it was uploaded, ty for anchoring me down austin (and the uploader) RIP
I listen to this so often. Its so good.
2 years ago today, rest in peace
One of my favorites performances, ever... I can listen it again and again. Austin was just incredibly talented guy... and Natasha is also wonderful and beautiful singer, just superb duet. Fantastic and very athmosphere performance. So sad that he passed away at the age of 22... He was like a meteor - huge flash of light and then he's gone forever... Gosh, 2012 - it was like yesterday...
We miss you Austin, we remember you, we listen you. Thanks a lot for this music, buddy. R.I.P. Austin Peralta
RIP Austin Peralta, you are a legend!
He died the day after this?! Omg what a travesty.....what a brilliant keyboardist and sideman for flying lotus and others. The vocalist here is undeniably talented as well!
In his sleep too.
He also played and toured with the cinematic orchestra
damn...that's insane. I knew he'd died but had no idea it was the day after this performance.
It's been more than a year...and I still can't get over the fact he is gone! Gone too soon!!! R.I.P Austin Peralta
amazing bass solo great sound!
soul-stirring sound. RIP Austin…
Flying lotus からここに辿り着きました。
2006 Tokyo jazz 国際フォーラムで観た若いピアニストが彼だったなんて!そしてこの映像の数日後に亡くなったなんて…
goddamn, this video hits hard in 2020. RIP an unbearable legend.
What an incredible band! Louis Cole taking on a very different drumming style here from the KNOWER stuff :) RIP Austin. Literally a genius gone too soon.
holy ish that katz chilln in heaven with bill evans and george duke RIP what a shame he couldn't be present in our world anymore
1'53" "you know someone great has gone"...
August 2020 and i still come back to this! 🙏
The level of genius at work here is unparalleled - Absolutely amazing arrangement and spine chilling performance
of a Mingus Classic. ❤️😎
Fuck. Austin was literally the best. I wish I could have met the guy before he died. Thinking of all the music we'll never get to hear because of his untimely exit has depressed me almost every day since learning about his death, but at least he left us with gems like this. RIP Austin
Austin Peralta is like a Lee Morgan, an Eric Dolphy type of character. There just won't be another Austin Peralta. Damn I wish he was still here. 'The light that burned twice as bright, burned half as long'. If there's anymore footage of this show, it'd be greatly appreciated.
I will forever return to this song until the day I die. Rip Austin 💕💗
RIP Austin, what an incredible video. So great seeing all the love for him here in the comments. You are very missed.
Watching him work w the bass player thru that bass solo is always beautiful
I can take you to a world where you can stretch your wings and fly away
Sad and scary... yet beautiful.
This makes me happy and so sad at the same time. I can't even deal with how incredibly talented he was.
Died way too young. Happy to have found this video. Brilliance.
This is beautiful
Father and Son are both Legends!

Still get a weird sad melancholy every time I listen to this damn man why

Such great talent!!! So much gifted....oh god.... R.I.P. Austin!
He looks so happy and elated just to be doing what he does and playing the music that he loves. We lost a tremendous artist. RIP.
Amazing video, Pentatonicpro! Can't wait for more videos from this show.
R.I.P. Austin, such a loss.
Wow, the last song he played before he died was this one.
Such a great rendition of such a great tune.
Rest in piano Austin.
Breathtaking
I can't find and expletive worthy enough! What an amazing talent - how he manages to sweep me, at least, totally alone in his groove. I'm not easily swept!
I love the singer. I am copying her inflections on my trombone for this song. She has a very interesting style and very improvisational. She is a good jazz musician. High praise for a jazz singer.
vernon bisho She as all on here is incredible....
She's using some of the phrases from de sax solo in Ah Um recording, and her own phrases in between. But sounds so natural and cantabile.. great solo. Wow I just realised Im replaying a two years old comment,
I wish I had found this before. Good luck whit that trombone!
@@FranciscoSanchez-hs8um the lyrics are adapted from Joni Mitchell who performed this on her album Mingus
@@JoeyvanLeeuwen Yes!
that song gives me chills! that's weird that he played this song the day before he died as well -2 years ago exactly. RIP Austin you were too good for this world x

Great voice.

My heart hurts after watching this. Timeless.
this is the only thing i miss about living in the US. music and arts
Aside from Austin's amazing keys, she has an incredible voice and stage presence
This performance still gives me the exact same amount of chills as the first time I saw it. Hell, I feel as though the chills actually increase with each viewing! This is my kind of music. 2am in a small and dark smoky jazz club in the city with this music just happening before you... #Perfect
goosebumps unleashed...
I love this more than anything
Elegant Incomparable Performance, Her Voice Will Put Me To Sleep At Last.
Goosebumps on this one!
