Just in case anyone was wondering, Russo actually went back and rewatched this PPV for the first time since it occurred to review it for his podcast. He thought it was great. That’s all you need to know.
I agree. His story has never changed. Biscoff changes and says he doesn’t remember. Dude. Your the E. Producer. U know everything. Hogan is such a bitch. That’s basically all u need to know
I hate him unequivocally. He just keeps staying alive for some reason.
That makes sense. Russo went back and watched Brawl For All recently and said "he was entertained " lol

@John Volken creative control is a hell of contract clause. It's smart hogan sued, free money at that point.
Hogan worked himself into a shoot that gave him millions of dollars at Ted Turner's expense

The epitome of WCW in the year 2000: The ring crew is too dumb to properly clean cake off of the ring mats.

I'd also assume that it was specifically-made to last under the lights for a while, which would lead to something more difficult to clean up.
The thing about the whole Russo/Hogan/Jarrett debacle is the worst moment in wrestling history. Regardless of who's side you're on, Hogan or Meltzer, (who Russo parroted talking points from constantly,) it was wrong and was the true killer of the entire company.
The biggest reason was because it now ceased to be a wrestling show. You never saw Ross and Rachel break character to bitch about their salaries in the middle of an episode of Friends. If they did, it would have killed THAT show as well. The fact that it was on PAY PER VIEW made it even worse because you had to PAY money to see them do this.
Add this to the fact that Jarrett NEVER drew and was NEVER OVER anywhere but in Memphis and you had a situation where there were no winners and Hogan looked sympathetic. He was a Horseman, never got over, joined the NWO, didn't get over, got a bigger push by Russo than even his own father gave him in Memphis, didn't get over.
Meanwhile, Booker was collateral damage unfortunately.
Jarrett also blackmailed Vince McMahon into giving him a huge some of money. I think he used some of that money to start TNA.

32:25 the weirdest part about all that pipebomb drama was that the PPV just carried on afterward with no-one else on the roster reacting. You would think Nash at the least would have some kind of spontaneous reaction to Hogan's sudden (shoot?) firing, but apparently everyone else was just there to follow their specific cues and not pay attention to the WCW universe as a whole.
This is probably my favorite classic review from this channel. I am weirdly obsessed with this show and how bad it is, I would totally welcome a revisit with fresh eyes and updated scores.
The rot had set in so bad on WCW by this time that all of this "swervy" Vince Russo stuff didn't really do any MORE damage, since WCW was so beyond repair. But what it did was to ensure that WCW was now incapable of ever being taken seriously as a threat to WWF. Something that always troubles me, if Hogan thought he was going over for the world title because he didn’t like the finish, then why would he go out to the ring for the main event in the middle of the show, the slot perfectly timed to allow a second title match later on in the night?
