Very helpful! Doing a mustang 2 in a first Gen ranger myself. Great video!
Very good vedio,,,,I'm doing a 46 pickup,,,I myself thought it was a lot hanging out on the rear bottom A arm,,,,and felt it needs more support,,and yes I removed the typlone bushing before I started welding,,lol,,,so many people don't realize the heat from welding,,,always remove seals in even rear ends before you weld...
Where do I get the measurements ???
I could be wrong but it looks like there is "negative" caster. Its my understanding you want some positive caster.
i haven't adjusted caster/camber yet, the upper a-arm is slotted to allow adjustment of the upper balljoint position. once i get it driving, i'll ballpark the adjustment and take it to an alignment shop for a proper adjustment. thanks for the question!
love the fab work, the 28" helped me with my build, to far forward tho.. also the top hats and the cross member on this frame should not be center together for others doingthis build
why wouldn't you want all the suspension components centered on the wheel opening? specifically.
So am I correct in saying when your lower control arm is parallel to the ground the upper one also is parallel with the ground with the spindle installed. And if the adjustment screws are right in the middle on the upper control arm you’re looking for 0° camber… Correct.....I wish helix would send a little bit better information that is if you can find it.
when the lower control arm is parallel, the upper control arm should be angled toward the ground and also leaned backward at about 7-8 degrees (IIRC) at zero camber. search the El Polocko thread on HAMB and read how the Mustang 2 geometry should be setup.
Could use a little help. I am installing in a 53 Chevy 3100. I purchased the air bag over spring. Do I need that top hat to have the 3 degree for antidive or mounted flat. I think I have same set up you have including truck more or less but mine is air bag and 2in drop
How do you determine the location of the spring pocket as far as the size of the notch that needs to be cut? It looks to me like they are all set so the upper control arm is parallel to the ground.
well, i think i covered that in the video. i used the recommendation of "el polocko" from hamb to determine the UCA angle/spring bucket angle on the frame for proper anti-dive geometry. thanks for watching!
How do you know how much to cut as height upper and lower?
Do you have a link to elpoloko on the H.A.M.B. I would like to read his thread on the M2 ifs.

I think this is it
it's in the description. thanks for watching.
Where did you get the the subframe kit ? I got mine from Bro speed for my 67 mustang and the detractions were vague . The picture that was sent to me didn't show any sleeve in the front where the lower control arms bolts threw. My bottom spring pocket doesn't Mach with the top ! I saw another video of similar subframe installed like yours and think I need to change mine to have a little cut from the back and welded to the front and a gusset like the one you mentioned
check out el polocko's thread on the HAMB. it'll explain the Mustang II front geometry pretty well and give you some good examples. thanks for watching!
