I just finished watching you show us with the Waverly. I'm sure you like this paint better but gosh it's expensive. What is your go to paint and wax and let me add brushes too???
Donna Bowman Waverly is the cheapest way to go when chalk painting! Annie Sloan is just a much higher quality. You can get great results with either one! If I had to choose and budget isn’t an issue I will always go with Annie Sloan products!

Hi Mauri! I used to show that but it’s usually not necessary because it’s all the same. In this video I just went over it with the base color and that’s it. I try and make my videos as fast as possible so people don’t get bored, but I do slow down and emphasize the important parts!

Aa so you try to make the effect in front and all the rest are one colour? this is nice! And what about the furniture with the old look like the one you upload in 15/3/19? how did you paint the side?
mauri katsika on that piece, the rustic hutch I did the same on the sides as the top. Just a simple wash. You can see what I did to the top at 6:50, I did the same to the sides!

mauri katsika oh I didn’t answer your first question. Yes I did the rest of the dresser in one color, the base color I mixed. My videos are meant to give you ideas, you can work them any way you want! I only blended the drawers but you can blend the sides using the same method. You can also change the colors around to your liking! Once you learn the techniques I’m using, you can easily use them however you see fit. I really believe you shouldn’t go into a piece of furniture with restrictions or rules. Do whatever you feel, you’ll end up loving it more that way! Hope this helps!

Waxing will protect most pieces just fine!

Hi Kacha, I noticed that you always seal with a clear wax. May I ask how long that can last/how often would you need to re-wax that piece? What do you think of other more permanent sealant, like polys?
I have not had to re-seal a piece yet with wax, but just like everything it will eventually get some wear and tear depending on how much usage the piece has. I have used poly before many time, usually on high use pieces like table tops! There is nothing wrong with using poly, I just like the finish wax gives my pieces!

Beautiful, the blending is amazing I need to get braver. How much water do you mix in with the paint before you brush on?
Just a few sprays is usually all you need! It’s hard to explain but I show in my videos how I like the consistency. But it’s kind of a personal choice, I love thinner paint!
