A quick video unboxing the recently released 2024 Sovereign. It's a UK coin, that's been minted all over the world for 150 years. #sovereign #coins #unboxing

good video, today is the 2nd January so just ordered several normal full 2024 sovereigns should be with me 9th fingers crossed
Hi. Thanks. Yes, the bullion coin came out today but was overshadowed by the release of the 2024 Annual Set. I've released a quick impromptu video covering the set but I'm tempted to get the bullion coin even though I've got the proof version.
Great video, beautiful sovereign. Thank you for sharing. New subscriber. All the best. 🍻
Thanks for the sub! I'm still new at this but hopefully over time, there will better quality videos and a wider range of content too :)
@@LesCoins-uk Looking forward to future content and watching your channel grow. Here’s wishing you all the best for your upcoming endeavours. 🍻
Is this year more gold looking?
Hi. This one has a proof finish (frosted high points and mirror finish lower areas), whereas the "normal" coin is simply a high quality finish, but they are the same grade of gold. Cheers.
@@LesCoins-uk I see what you mean. But the color? The 2024 is more yellow looking than 2018 that I have which is more rose/copper looking
@@evka3220 I've checked the Royal Mint site (for my sanity more than anything) and can confirm that they are all 22 carat gold, but some have the rose/copper finish you mentioned, and others have a faded gold one. I think it's just down to the finish quality of the coin.
@@LesCoins-uk I see, a d honestly, I was scratching my head too because i did by both 2018 and 2024 from Royal Mint (not in a proof case, rather "normal" individual quantities and was shocked by the difference in color. Can I share with you somehow what I received?
@@LesCoins-uk But they all are new. Is jt that from year to year they may be using different finish?
Yet another coin nobody needs but the RM churns them to pay it's overpriced directors. I won't pay a penny over spot for them.
I know collectors who only buy Platinum coins who believe that gold & silver are pointless, but each to their own.
