We are on our third year with these, they all run perfectly still. Zero complaints.
Awesome
love my echos never going to change
I love the way lefty trimming looks. this is also how I hold it.
i remember when geektofreak made lawn care videos and i watched them all, but anywyays,i remember him walkin throught the stilh store and the owner just came up and gave him a new stilh trimmer, wow, and he wasnt even loookin for recognition,, anyways good video.
We Just purchased the SRM 230 and did a video on it and absolutely love it, my FS 90R hasnt been doing well and I was skeptical but it tears through anything. thanks for the videos Brian, keep it up
I own the 266 and they are pretty powerful. Its a solid trimmer for the price, and echo equipment just runs forever.
This video made me buy one, absolutely LOVE this thing. Thanks for the review!!!
Cool !!!! Great Review Brian :) All My Echo Trimmers and Edgers have Lasted for Many Years with Little to No Problems..... Very Nice Footage of Slow Motion Edging.
Great trimmer couldn't love it any more. I own the 280t. My neighbors probably hates me the other night at 7:30 when I decided to let the echo scream. Lol
+Tyler Stump Haha!
Tyler Stump lol. I let my echo scream at 10:30 at night
john duynh yea I do love the sound of my echo trimmer!
Lol my yard machine trator scream at 11:00 pm
I've been waiting for this!
i just bought one its really good i used it on overgrown weeds 4 feet tall
Awesome trimmer. Great camera work too, I like the slo-mo
+The Lawn Care Nut Thanks buddy!
Nice review Brian! Looks like a great trimmer.
+Spencer LawnCare Thanks Spencer.
I love my echo PAS-280. Overkill for weekly lawn care, but for farm trimming, blowing, and brushcutting, it's hard to beat. Where I trim regularly on our actual "lawn", I run at a fairly low rpm. When I need to tackle a large area of 2ft+ tall grass/weeds, I let it fly!
I’ve ran two ECHO’s since I’ve been cutting grass, both echos from my work places. My current work place has the srm 266 and I really have no complaints. Great weed eater with plenty of power. I just wish echo would come up with a bigger guard then the ones they come with
great trimmer. been using mine for 2 yrs. cant wait to get the 2620
there nice, they do blow more air than the stihl's. they also blow air on back during hot part of season to help keep your back cool. In the fall you put the disc in to stop blowing air.
*Easy to assemble. Works well. Great value. **Bestfor.Garden** also recommend Very happy with it. I really appreciate it. I would highly recommended this to all.*
I've got a older pas 225 and I love it actually looking to get attention least 2 more.
brian,
good review. we switched from stihl equipment 3 seasons ago to echo products. SRM 230 is what we use with the edge it pro disc on 2 of them. easier for rookies to learn how to edge a straight line. we also have a 266 pas system with the stick edger attachment, hedge trimmer and 3 - 770 blowers. they are all great products. the 225 is a lighter machine and for just weekly lawn service they work great.
Yea I want one of those blowers.
Nice video Looks like a great Trimmer and I like that it comes with the Speed Feed head
+Pittwater Mowing I like that too.
Sweet editing. Nice video.
I work for my city, maintaining the city trails and walkways, the crews all use Echo or Shindaiwa power equipment, they run forever, our mowers are Honda, but the trimmers work forever and are good on gas as well 🙂
Geat video Brian, no time for Golf I see, good luck man.
...Funny story about the speed feed head. I do my Mother in-laws and the neighbors across the street watches me everytime I mow. I ran outta string, while half way down the sidewalk. I shut it off, walked to the truck. The guy yelled something I only caught the tail end of what he said, but what I heard was this should take a while, lemme get another one. I get my line, twist, pass threw, judge about 10feet with tag end, then I start twisting...... tag end is 10inches, cut from spool. As I closed the truck he was walking to his chair. fired it up.. guard blade cut the line to length, and I'm back at it. Love my echo!
im thinking of changing my fleet from stihl to echo
ryan Darisse do it!
NOOOOOO STIHL FOR EVER
Wouldn't be a bad move
First great video really like Echo equipment, but now i got a question, when you fueled up the trimmer your fuel looked blueish colored,so what type of two cycle oil do you use? Thanks.
Nice job on the review Brian!
+Fall River Lawn Care Thanks Kevin!
Brian you are my favorite lawn channel. Thanks for the videos. I've always been a Stihl man. Never tried echo or any other brand for that matter. But I'm sure I would use it and try it out if they sent me one free.
+Daniel Macy Thanks Daniel. This was the first time for me and I was pleased with it.
I use the srm-225 which is the lowest model for the echo trimmers as i am just starting out but it does a great job. I believe after this video i will be sticking to the echo brand!
Cool man.
My first trimmer was an echo, great trimmer, and my favorite thing about it was the weight balance, if you held it on the shaft where the branding is, it would balance perfectly. I upgraded to a stihl km90r so I could have a trimmer and edger in one. I love the extra power, but so much heavier.
+Andrew Veatch Both are great products.
it was nice of echo to send you a trimmer to review seems to be pretty good trimmer and you did a good review on it . enjoyed watchin you use it . good editing too..
+Henry Bennett Thanks Henry!
I picked up a 266T before the season this year. I do a lot of cemetery work, so i can spend 7-10 hours a days just trimming. The 266t seemed decent but just didn't put out the power that my 3 stihl trimmers could put out. However, the Echo is much lighter and seems to run quieter and have less vibration when operating. I still prefer the Stihl trimmers but the echo could be a good tool for anyone's company.
+jamierocks42 I would agree. Seems like a little less power but still a great trimmer. Both brands are good.
@@TopNotchLawns yea but is the 266 still underpowered compared to the Stihl FS56. Because I was leaning towards the 266 vs the FS56
What stihl are you running? I have the 94r and the echo 2620 and the echo model blows that stihl out of the water I feel
Looking at this one and the 30cc 2030 which has a massive 20" cutting width.
I really needs that trimmers echo trimmers are the best ones to me
Great review man!
+Massey Landscape Service Thank you!
I use this all day and so far best if used. Over all others shindaiwa and sthil
Echo is one of the best hands down. I us the echo srm 230. When you change out the string it will work a lot better then the string that comes in it. I have found that the round string works the best. I us Oregon gator line works the best .095 round it's a little pricey but it last a lot longer. So in the end it's like the same price as most string.
great review man... i want the PAS - 266... i love my echo
I have the PAS266! I love it! I have the weedeater bottom, brush cutter blade, pole saw (with Oregon LGX chain), and the 3' pole saw extension. All are must haves. I bought mine June of last year based on the fact that my dad found an old SRM1501 (21.2cc like the newer SRM225) at a garage sale for $25-30 back in 2009-2010. It's a low serial number SRM1501 too, meaning it it was at the newest a 1991 model year and it is still running today! Just the fuel line to the carburetor and the vent line, no primer bulb and line, like the newer years of the old SRM1501's! Solid steel shaft too! Also, if you find any "John Deere" badged weedeaters or hedge trimmers, chainsaws, etc. chances are it's made by Echo too! I bought a used John Deere model 172 hedge trimmer for $50 2 years ago now, it's an Echo HC1500 hedge trimmer, just in a "lime green" color. Check out my videos to see it!
Nice!...yea i can wait to get one
SEF, check out my videos to see the John Deere 172 (Echo HC1500 hedge trimmer).
I have the echo gt-225 and I just love it, it is easy to use and always starts easy.
Nice review Brian
Thanks
Good evening, were I see the serial num for the garanty
Nice review but this music is terrible, I'd like to hear that machine working.
Hear that motor more.
Anyway good product I use echoes.
I gave a echo gt 2200 works great. It is considered obsolete
I watch you all the time. Do you prefer guard or no guard?
I like the echo but the only problem is has is it shoots stuff back at you.
Thanks Echo but you should have sent him the PAS 266. That's the best thing echo ever created in the trimmer line. Hell send me one, I'll review it.
good camera shots
+Country Crafts Thanks!
How is this compared to the SRM 2620T?
It would have been nice if you'd shown things like: air filter, restringing, and string advancing.
can I use Sthil oil in an echo line trimmer?
great trimmer i use the 225 srm and i think its over kill for my lawns i cant imagine the power that thing has
+Ernesto Robles It did pretty good.
What trimmer would u recommend?
How do you get the line to come out of the speed feed head. I am having trouble with mine. Whenever i hit it against the ground the line becomes shorter
You may have the line reversed it should come out when you tap it on the ground the trimmer needs to be running though
do you weedeat a yard every time
Nice I want to get pas 266 or 280 I love my pas 225 but I want 266 pas
Do you apply for Echo to send you stuff or is it just because you are well known?
that echo 266 is made for heavy work..I live on a farm and ECHO 266 handles all jobs with ease...cutting 6 ft tall Johnson grass...bushes...small trees...heavy thick fescue 3 ft tall just mows right through it..and it will hurt you..you must wear shin protection when doing heavy work.. very powerful WE..for just lawn care way to powerful
Can't go wrong with a Echo trimmer
Your video is funny! That music kinda scares me though..... I'm surprised with all that power you do some edges for us?
Its a little heavy for me but has plenty of power.
Ok so power is good. How's the weight? About the same as your others?
+Something 2LookAt Yea, didn't notice anything different about the weight.
Top Notch Lawn Care Okie dokie. Thanks Brian.
I have the srm 225 and I have alot of trouble first starting it, seems when I go yard to yard it doesn't want to start back up. when you first started yours, did it fire up on choke and run for a minute?
+Taylor Hurst This one started fine and ran good. Never died on me.
I wish the video didn't have stupid music I'd like to hear how it handles grass under load?
I wish echo would send me a product to review
+Dominic Valentine Me too could use a trimmer and hedge trimmer ha ha
Me too
As with electronics so-called reviews, these companies tend to only send products to publishers with thousands of subs. The catch is they have to return them in most cases.
do you use echo instead of stihl now? just wondering...lol
Good review Brian. Weight wise how does it compare to the Stihl FS90 or FS94?
I can't tell much of a difference.
I find some models just don't think about the arm operating. This Echo has a smooth area were your elbow might rest. The earlier model Echo SRM 225 had a V (tanka too) near the spark plug. Would catch my funny bone all the time. And other models the exhaust is to high on the side, I have a couple of old jumpers with holes due to this design flaws.
I'll have to try that. Thanks.
Hey Brian have u heard of a scag cougar I was looking at videos of walkers and came across a video of one.
+A Wilbur I've heard of it but never used one.
Don't you get back ache not using a harness ? Why don't you use strimmers with the cow horns? I run my own garden business here in the uk and we always use strimmers with cow horns and harnesses
My boss bought this echo trimmer for our crew to try out and we were highly
disappointed, basically sucked. Starts up great everytime but that's all its good at. First off the tank is small as hell having to constantly add mix to it throughout the day. Secondly when your whippin through thick shit the echo seems to bog down like it doesn't have enough power. Compared to our redmax trimmers, the reds scream through that thick shit lol no problem always having enough power never bogging down while filling the tank maybe once.
Acuanto na calibrado un dos sesenta uses
1:48 In the video what type of weeds is that I have a lot of that growing here in md
from what l could tell it looked like chick weed!
We want to hear the engine, not the music!
I use shinidiwa
Music ?
First :). Great video :)
+ilike2mow You the man.
nice trimmer man, me too I just bought a new husqvarna last week, man! very, very nice trimmer I love it.
Nice trimmer
+Kevin Valencia Thank you!
My grandpa bought the nut for the head but the only problem is that he got the echo nut instead of a ryobi nut so it don't fit
+Kellie Overgaard That sucks.
Did the guard seem small? Were your legs covered in grass?
+Flash Lawn Service Yea it's a little small but didn't notice any extra grass on me. lol
Lets see review in higher grass couldnt tell a thing where you were at
I bought one not knowing it was for left handers
we should do a contest. who catches poison it the MOST this season...lol..I know I am on my 2nd cycle already...smh..
poison ivy
+pep72000 I got it once this year but that was from fishing. I haven't had poison ivy from mowing in years.
do you have to bang it on the floor to make it feed more line?
Yes
Ok thanks. Will it always get scraped, or do you just make sure to bang it on grass and not rocks
+Edwin Castillo de best is to bang it on stone
Not on gras
Ha..ha..
I'll stick to Stihl lol cool video though Brian!!
Same
+Aidan Nina same. really want a fs70 bt stuck with fs45
same here
I can just see labels on these products that say "TOP NOTCH TESTED AND APPROVED"
+Mark's Reviews Haha!!
You can't beat the speed feed head. I have a Stihl 90R but I use my echo SRM225 mostly due to the light weight. Good video. check us out. My editing isn't the best but I try. Any tips are welcome.
so true...that speed head is so convenient and a quick change over...why I use my 225 mainly as well
+Southern Style Lawn Care Will do budddy!
225 is so light you can one hand it if needed lol.
If you are left handed Brian you could probably take the handle off and turn it around so it would be the opposite way as it would be for a right handed person
+Tim Gring When I trim this was is comfortable.
I may have to go get myself one as I have just stuffed the one I have Im so pissed with myself
+Neil Lebas They work well
Which one is better, echo or stihl?
Echo is basically the highest level homeowner or low- medium commercial and stihl is the high end commercial.
+Flip Gravity yeah I glad I own stihl trimmers commercial
Weeze Lawncare used to be fan for 6 years now stihl fan still 2008 to present but I like echo new head bumper, (400 speedfeed) but I put it on toro straight trimmer and so far I like it alot better than old echo head bumper feed
Weeze Lawncare yea but to me both echo and stihl trimmer are good to me just I am faster on stihl. stihl trimmer and chainsaw the best but stihl backpack not for me. u right that redmax and husqvarna use more gas, but get job done bit quicker... also jonsered blower have redmax engine too just like husqvarna have redmax engine too lol btw I have respect for echo cause of new head bumper speedfeed. it even more easier than I expected it. when I ran out of trimmer line all I have to do is add more trimmer line and load it up and go. that is fantastic
Weeze Lawn Care 770t is a great blower also the 700 stihl . Raedmax is great but man they use a ton of gas
I bought one and I hate it! The engine starts easy and idols good but it takes 10 to 15 minutes to warm up on a 90° day. Also it looks downs bad even after it warms up. It dies frequently. There is no carb. Adjustment which I hate. No more echos for me.
How can i get a carburetor for my echo trimmer by email? Thankyuo
i doubt anyone can email you a carb
Is echo still owned by shindaiwa?
+chubbygold Echo owns Shindaiwa :)
Thought it was the other way round, either way great machines, im on instagram @. mg_gardens
You getting hammered with storms tonight too?
+HuntersLawnCare Yea a little bit.
What's sucks about Echo trimmers is when u flip it over for edging flowerbeds it will dye out
+Austin Ruiz I actually edged with it a couple of times and it didn't die. Although I wasn't edging very long.
I've run my srm225 upside down for at least 10 minutes straight edging my biggest property and it didn't die
+Austin Ruiz My Echo does fine edging also. You might have just been low on fuel at the time so it was sucking air when you flipped it over to edge with it.
I wanted to hear motor while trimming, not music.
ECHO HAVE GREAT EQUIPMENT JUST NOT RATED HIGH
Good video but very annoying music!
That's what I thought, couldn't hear if the motor bogged down!
You arnt even usein the red armor man
New lady will come next Friday she be making smoothies where is her smooie machine a red colour lady not augry Sharon get augry when bringing their milk shank it wasn't put ice cream milk shank flower will not drink she doesn't read ruble on ciareter
