This makes a lot of sens, it's too bad there is no wide size of the asics model, at least in Canada.. :(

Hi James, isn't a high heel drop such as 10 mm not ideal for bunions, since the high drop puts extra pressure on the bunion, similar to when wearing high heels? Thank you.

If you have a painful bunion then a low drop with forefoot rocker works well.
If you have a bunion without pain that a wide toe box is helpful with cushioning.
The premise of what you are saying is correct but 10mm trainer with cushioning is very different to a high heel shoe.

II don’t have pain, I just don’t want it to get worse. But I understand the difference now. This really answers my question because not many good running shoes are low drop and wide toe box. I can expand my options now. Thank you so much for clarifying that!!

    Hi James,
Just wanted to share that I had bunion surgery two months ago and decided to invest in the Asics Gel Kayano 30 shoes for my everyday activities. I've been pleasantly surprised by how comfortable and stable they are during my recovery process.
Now that I'm getting back into the gym, I've heard that running shoes might not be the best choice for weightlifting. I was wondering if you have any recommendations for shoes that would be suitable for weightlifting and other gym activities.
    Thank you!

2 of the shoes come in a wide fit and the forefoot rocker offloads the forefoot
