  • The road from Maiduguri to Damaturu used to be called one of the most dangerous roads due to militant groups and regular threat of kidnapping. Things are a lot different there now. Come with me on this journey on the road and into Damaturu.

I am from Damaturu. The driver is telling the truth. Most of the attacks happen in the villages. The state capitals are relatively safe. But no thanks to the iNGOs for continuously pumping money that end up at the hands of 10% of the entire population.
And thank you for projecting our states and by extension our country in a positive way.

Nigeria is a beautiful and amazing country such a shame we lack visionary leadership, just selfish, ignorant, backward, corrupt looters that should all be in prison.

That taxi seat is too small to expect 2 people to fit in the back, let alone 3. CRAZY!

Nike, you are quite wrong. The sand dunes in Yobe are in my local government area, Yusufari, in Maimalari and Tulotulo villages. These villages are like 2-3 hours away from Damaturu and not up to 6 hours.

You should have let him keep talking about Boko Haram instead of interrupting him.
When he said he knew they were the ones "because...", I wanted to hear the rest. 🤣

You should carry hand soap with you. When I first moved to Mexico I used to carry hand soap with me.
I generally don't need it- don't go as often to places where I need it- so I stopped carrying it.
I carried a bar of soap.
