MUSTARD CARROTS: (this recipe feeds 4 people. Scale up for the Thanksgiving crowd!)
1 lb of carrots
1 TBS butter
1 TBS brown sugar
1-2 TBS yellow mustard
1) Peel carrots and cut into sticks or fingers
2) Cook in boiling water (or steam, or microwave, I suppose) until al dente (or to your desired doneness!). Drain.
3) In the same pot, add 1 TBS butter and melt. Stir in sugar and mustard. Add carrots. Stir to coat.
This will not be a pooling amount of "sauce" but rather a glaze on the carrots. Enjoy! - Jak na to + styl
I like her, she keeps everything simple and that's what we need.

Nica Waters Turned out great! New family favourite!
Its soooooo good.
I'm glad you like the recipe!!
I have carrots here and don't know what to do with those so I came accross youtube and found your video. Thanks for sharing!
Just found your video this evening and tried it immediately. My carrots were very thick, so I sliced them crosswise into disks, steamed them, and then glazed them with butter, turbinado sugar (have run out of brown sugar) and mustard. They were just as yummy as you said they would be! I think they will make their first appearance at a family gathering for Easter. Thank you, Nica, for such an easy, tasty recipe.
Yay! Thanks also for sharing your modifications!
Well, best-laid plans...No Easter gathering this year because of Covid-19. But maybe by Thanksgiving!
@@julierobinson6955 stay safe and healthy.
Just prepared this recipe! #Yum I appreciate you and ya cooking skills! Super Recipe! Happy New Year 2022! ✨🌟✨
Wow! So glad to have tried this. I made my wife a dinner and decided to try this. However, I had asperagus ready to go as a back up since this seemed to simple and, well....... brown suger, butter, and mustard and done? Happy to report, the asperagus will be used another day and both the wife and 19 year old son loved it. Thank you for sharing Nica!
💭 Thinking about trying this recipe.

Yesterday I watch this video looking for kind of recipe I think salad carrots but for me if I made it isn't as.. tasty as I wish ... Your recipe is unique tasty 😋.. only I put too much mustard next time less it's good taste when I'm eating it I say this inside me in my mind... I wonder to your 🏠 they can't without this recipe' cause you're right it's fabulous... Tasty 😋
Thank you with this
Unique recipe 😍♥️👍
Tastey Thursday!!
Happy thanksgiving!!!
Just watching this video makes my mouth water.... :3
How long can this dish last? I'm planning to cook this in bulk and put it into the fridge and
eat it as a snack whenever I want to.
I'd not keep it a whole lot longer than about 5 days, but then again I've never had any last that long.
I like the idea, however, today is Thanksgiving 2021, so it'll have to wait for another day - I want to give it a try first.
I saw a can of carrots on my self & they grabbed my attention to go w my can of Hormel tamales which for some reason I like a lot. Why the carrots grabbed my eye~? Who knows~? Ha ha, so straight to You Tube I came & typed in what to do w a can of carrots" & this came up. I tried 'em and they are DELICIOUS~!! I look forward to making them with fresh carrots and bringing them to a pot luck~!! Found a new channel to subscribe to, too~!! Thanks for posting~!!
I tried this with already sliced and smaller carrot, same amount of suggested things for the coat and it worked perfectly. I will try it with the same carrot that appear on the video for next time. Thank you and delicious!
Cheap and good!! Make a lot of it1
Yummm...I Tweeted link! ❇️🌲❇️
Hmmmm I'm going to try this, I need to get rid of these carrots instead of throwing them away
I made it like a week ago. Absolutely Loved it! I am going to make it for Easter for the Fam
Can I have this for packed lunch? Does it not spoil quickly?
I cooked this a few days ago for my mom and myself after buying a big bag of carrots. I don't even like carrots but the price was good. Anyway, we both agreed they tast(ed?) great--a sugary-tang with that converted that raw carrot taste into something deliciously different. I was worried that using jalapeno mustard (it's all I had) would screw things up but I barely noticed the spiciness. My mom asked me to make them again tonight to accompany something she's making.
I'm about to do the same and purposely use a jalapeno mustard
I am gonna try this. Sure hope you're right. Brown sugar and mustard and carrots?!
I'll be back.
RamZ u here yet
RamZ How was it?
BTW You're link in the description is no longer available.
Ok, I didn't mind the look of it ...recently stopped meat eating...will give it a try...thanks!
Let me know how it goes for you!
No water needed. Cut Julienne with a little of your chosen butter, margarine or olive oil, use a lid to create steam, gentle heat, add your choice or herb, honey, sugar, whatever, stir and check until cooked enough for your taste.
Tfs I will have to try this for that 5 pounds of carrots I have in the fridge lmao (1:32 for recipe)
What can you sprinkle on the top for presentation?
Maybe a sprinkle of parsley?
Dijon works well.
I bet it would! My family's always used the yellow mustard, so it's tradition . . . still, I love dijon mustard!
Dont have brown sugar can I use raw sugar
what if I dont have a mustard?
Thanks for this video, i'm having a hard time looking to flavor for the carrots and i will really try this tomorrow for my student😘 i will comment here again if he like it.
I hope he does like it! Thanks for watching.
Did you use salted butter or unsalted?
I tend to use unsalted for everything but if all you have is salted, use that!
Why do people throw the water away! Reduce it down, use less sugar, less butter. Tastes much better, and healthier.
I love recipes that are flexible and that you can customize. Reducing the water down would help it be sweeter more naturally as well. Thanks for watching!
U remind me of my granny
No seasoning?
Back up
Hey, Jordan Peterson, I knew you were a great thinker, but a great cook as well? Good for you! 👍🏼
Who's Jordan Peterson?
she's gordon ramsay female version, only without f words
can white sugar be used instead?
sure. It'll change the taste slightly (brown sugar is more molasses-y) but it will still glaze nicely.
Nica Waters oh ok. thank youuuu. btw,
can mustard oil be used??
@@ariyanarahman5061 wow now my head is veering to a totally different flavor profile. Mustard oil, black sesame seeds, maybe coconut sugar? It would be different for sure. The butter has dairy solids in it which help with the glazing aspect. Try it and let me know how it turns out!
l thinc it was brill
Thank you!
I Think She's John Cena's Mom
And if I don't have money ,I can't afford it these import vegetables I eat ''awara'' same stuff good for the eye sight
I will leave the mustard out.
The mustard is what cuts the sweetness of the brown suger. Try it with a little less mustard first. You won't even taste the mustard and it is really needed to balance it.
@@user-jm3qj2qt8v Great tip!
This dish is so American
o god, you threw away the broth .. you discarded the nutrients .
U r so sweet and funny
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! My family!!!!
ur funny
Will try minus mustard can’t stand mustard
Don't do stupid theatrics! Just stick with the program!
