    At first I thought this was a mock vid after i saw your gray face, but realized its for real. Dig the rasta and the tips for polishing. I watch the Runge dude polish his cars and wondered about the mirror shine. Personally I would wear a mask, that shmit cant be healthy.

    Also you should check out those big barrel style buffers those have been the fastest units I've ever seen for buffing out air streams, they're absolute beasts in terms of size and weight but nothing beats them when it comes to saving time they literally can do most of the buffing needed in one to two passes let see you do that with anything else!!!

    Thanks for this video! I've been using dewalt grinders with buffer pads up until today and I'm about to go and use my new Festool polisher for the first time in a couple of hours! MUCH LOVE COMING FROM THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS!

    If you're going to have an Airstream or any aluminum rig you SHOULD have it nice and shiny.

    What kind of camera did you use to shoot this ?

  • @lauralanebickerstaff4738

    What exactly do you mean by “compound”? Polish or something else?

    I have a 1958 Chevy kurbside aluminum body. I just stripped my paint and the body have a 300 grip right now. Do you think I can polish it to the shiny finish?

    • @SpreadingKnowledgeVlogs
      @SpreadingKnowledgeVlogs Před rokem

      Yea you can but it's going to take a hell of a long time and your not going to get there with 300grit you need to sand it to about 3000-5000 grit and then work on compounding and buffing and that's the only way your going to get a mirrored shine and don't expect it to last if your not going to either clear coat it or protect it with ceramic coatings it's actually pointless to do all that work and not coat it with something. I highly recommend if you do all that work to clear coat over it to lock in that work.

    How much cost to polished a 22 foot long airstream?

    • @SpreadingKnowledgeVlogs
      @SpreadingKnowledgeVlogs Před rokem

      Usually it's a couple thousand dollar at minimum, I know of a guy who would the job of buffing and protecting with a ceramic coating (you will want to add some really high end protection after paying for all that work) he used a marine grade ceramic coating that lasts up to 10 years guaranteed which the bottle of that stuff alone costs $1000 (one bottle would do two air streams easily) and he said he would the guy $4000 which he admitted was low but he wanted to book the job and $4k is $4k to him he said so he didn't care that it was cheap for the amount of hours it took. With that being said you could expect anywhere from $4k-$10k as a price for polishing but there's always those guys that don't realize how big of a job it really is and will quote you $1000-$2000 and then once they start and realize how hard it is they either say they need to raise the price of just give up and walk away from it which is quite common with these types of jobs.

  • @gumbyhunter

    Why is this recommend to anyone

  • @SpreadingKnowledgeVlogs

    Judging by how much compound is on this dude's face I'd say his lungs are likely pretty fucked by now but he definitely should be wearing a face mask of some sort never mind a full face mask I know they suck to wear trust me I personally have issues wearing the full face ones but atleast wearing something is better then nothing the paper n95 masks are decent too and it beats having to use a oxygen machine for the rest of your life when that stuff gets so caked up in your lungs you start to have problems breathing.

    I do resto, not trailers but everything. I live in a junked airstream out of neccessity. It's miserable. I hats these videos, because I'm tired from trying to sleep in mine while making neccessary repairs. These idiots don't know what real life is like. Try not getting paid after buffing for 400+ hrs. Because that's what happens in real life, when you do real work for people on contract.
