Malaria vaccination: Cameroon rolls out routine jabs for children

  • Cameroon has become the first country in Africa to roll out a new malaria vaccine for children.
    The World Health Organization approved the vaccine last year, after successful trials in Ghana and Kenya.

    Regarding vaccine hesitancy; historical manipulation of heavily melanated ppl and those of low income communities (without informed consent), contributed to the distrust towards these initiatives. There needs to be greater community engagement prior to such roll outs.
