@@Awelbeckk The way I understand it, Dominique and David were in her home rehearsing their dialogue as Robin and Daniel in V, when her angry ex-boyfriend showed up and began arguing with Dominique in the driveway. David heard sounds indicating the argument had turned violent. He tried unsuccessfully to call police, and even called a friend and said he might be killed soon and identified the ex-boyfriend (which is really weird actually). It sounds like he panicked and exited a back door where he saw the ex-boyfriend kneeling over Dominique who was either dying or dead. He went back inside and called police again. People wonder what would have happened if David had gone outside and tried to intervene. Perhaps his mere presence could have encouraged the ex-boyfriend to leave or at least not get violent, but no one really knows. It is my understanding that the boyfriend, John Sweeney, was basically a psychopath with a violent history. Perhaps David could have intervened but there’s a good chance he would be dead too. I’m not excusing his actions (or inactions) though. I suppose none of us really know how we’d act in a similar situation, though we’d like to think we would at least try to intervene in some way. Sweeney got off on mere manslaughter, which seems like a real injustice, especially since an ex-girlfriend testified at the trial that he was violent with her but the jury never heard her testimony.

There's no way Steven was fooled by such an obvious set up. He used it as an excuse to get rid of Daniel, who was now a liability.

What happened was he checked on what Daniel said about being set up by Maggie and found out she wasn't registered at the hospital so he didn't believe Daniel.

Ham Tyler was one of the good guys. He wasn't no punk. Had his own way of doing things. He knew what was up. And Ruby and Ham really liked each other.
The Simplicity and Clinicality of Tyler cracking the bottle over Brian's head.
Not sure if it was intentional, but I like how Donovan switches the shoulder he's carrying the box with to his left. Makes it seem as though once he realizes he's in view range of who they are going to kidnap he quickly switches over to conceal his face. Makes sense, considering he'd be one of the top priorities for the Visitors to capture if they spot him.

Tyler really liked Ruby, and he was a hard guy to get close to.
Even though he was hard man that kills people and is completely cut off from his emotions, Ruby won his heart in a way that no woman ever could.

Ruby was an actress by profession, and Tyler probably knew a few spies with acting talents just as good as hers in his CIA days.
You could tell he was simmering with rage over her death.

He is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the BEST character in the entire franchise. I firmly believe that had his character been introduced in the original miniseries, he'd have shut ALL that shit down in the first episode. Michael Ironside plays the character brilliantly.

She acknowledged that he enjoyed theatre. And had a knack for visiting overseas while on active duty. But he never told her the full story.
I wish Maggie had a bigger part in this series. At least some lines telling him how much she hated him. Imagine having to bed him! Eeeww.

1:47 While I don’t think Ham is putting revenge before reason in this scene, I’m glad that Caleb came up with a comprehensive revenge plan…and that Ham decided to listen to him.
I loved how Tyler cracked Brian on the back of the head with the bottle and Daniel (likely) pissed himself knowing he was screwed…
Daniel went from "aw shit, I'm gonna get one in the brain pan" to "aw shit, why couldn't one of those assholes just shoot me?"

Yeah, I always found it strange that Steven would believe an anonymous call from a human. I guess that Diana was right about Stephen being an idiot. On the other hand, Daniel probably told Steven that he and Brian were going to be with the nurse Maggie Blodgett and another gal. Stephen called the hospital and found out that there were no nurses who worked there by that name.
They had him for dinner so he was likely eaten fresh. When being interviewed Daniel was acting shifty because he felt threatened and that made him look guilty along with nobody knowing who Maggie was so he sounded like he was lying.

Yeah, but it was also risky. There was no guarantee that Stephen would believe an anonymous phone call from a human who wasn't an ally of the Visitors. Of course, the fact that Stephen called the hospital and found out that there was no nurse registered there by the name Maggie Blodgett contributed to Stephen not believing Daniel.

I must say, it fits and cancels out what was probably bad directing to have all the characters ignoring her during the confrontation. She might be a lizard or serious collaborator. But what happened to her?

I watched this series as a kid but had no clue how he was linked with Domnique Dunne he was at her home rehearsing the night she was killed by the bf. If she only not answered that door or if cops gotten there sooner or if they had just sent a squad car early given the violent nature of sweeney. Well his acting career still went on still it seems. Things happen that just no explanation.
He did testify at the murder trial. I guess it wasn't his fault. I don't think he's ever talked about what happened and feels upset over it.
You're going to carry a gun back then if you had one up until recently Los Angeles County has a very strict good cause policy so even being an actor it's not a guarantee to get a California carry permit especially a newbie like Daniel
Well, I just read up on all that, never having heard of it before and found it thoroughly disturbing. I am going to carry the baggage of extra heartache and terror each time I watch V and Poltergeist in the future. I too had a stalker try to strangle me a couple of times, never dated him but always rejected him so I personally know what she went through. I could not breath for a several minutes after his last attempt. You try to talk to people about somebody trying to strangle you and they minimize it calling it just choking and tell you that you should talk to a therapist if you have an issue. People do not like hearing things that are real which makes them feel uncomfortable. I think that is why her killer only got 3 years, for a 'crime of passion' and not considering it premeditated. Human lives should be seen as having greater value than that. Stalkers like to catch you by surprise, btw. You need that gun glued at your hip if you are to use it and even then, if they jump you somewhere from behind, you won't have a chance to use it.
@@sha11235 The boyfriend didn't have a gun or knife. Any real man with any balls would have gone out to help her. I think hollywood shunned him because of that. Besides V only other thing I saw him in was the movie about Patty Duke. I believe he played a young John Astin.

I think that was supposed to be one of the Visitor bases on Earth in the city.
I remember there was scene where the Resistance witnessed a whole bunch of earth people being herded into a Visitor werehouse where they came out on conveyor belts frozen in jelly molds...
That was the hit and run raid that was useless, it set in motion the hospital raid that was planned so it could wake people up and reveal the truth the visitors and their intentions.

Its like the series if Donavan had held Martin pill 💊 for him he would have survived and his older brother would have trusted Donavan he should have immediately filled the bottle for him so he could of saved his life and hidden his Laser gun so he was prepared just in case this happened because you can not buy the DVD 📀 of V or V the Final Battle anymore which is really sad 😔 it was a great movie 🎥 Amen 🙏

The way Caleb struck Daniel was badly done. The resistance member would have broken all his fingers. While the odious Bernstein would have only felt a tap.
When i was a kid (who frequently paid attention to trivial details) I wondered what happened to Brian’s date when they came back from commercial break. They are carrying Brian out and she is suddenly gone.
I think she is in the truck. She was also a resistance member, just not a big one.

I suppose as a kid I felt it was unclear since I didn’t notice any other scenes establishing that she was one of them and indeed in on the set-up. So it felt unexplained to me. But I know I was and still am overthinking it, Lol.
@@EastSide-qc5oy Because she had no lines in the scene, she was probably just an extra. But she should've been seen helping the Resistance carry Brian's body out of the house and into the truck.

It’s not absolutely necessary for the scene to work, but the absence of even a cursory explanation or context for her character leaves a very small but awkward hole in the scene. It seems like the kind of thing a good script supervisor would catch. But this was a very big and expensive production for NBC at the time and there was probably plenty of material they rushed through.

I wonder how the resistence learned that Daniel had shot and killed Ruby and what happend to Ruby for that matter? There were no witnesses except Daniel and Ruby and Ruby was shot by Daniel. Daniel tells Tyler that Ruby was a spy and he's proud of what he did. Therefore, the most logical explanation is that Daniel had apparently bragged about what he did and word got around and the Resistence found out about it. Perhaps he had told Maggie whom he was sleeping with about what he did?
Martin probably told them.
I can't help but wonder: What happened to the girl Brian was making out with? 😳 Did the resistance let her go, take her prisoner separately, or eliminate her so she couldn't talk? I'm surprised she didn't collaborate Daniel's story when he was dragged in front of Stephen. 🤷

Daniel got screwed by the resistance. Just because he shot and killed the old geezer, Ruby, the resistance decided to frame Daniel and kidnap Brian. Daniel was doing his job in stopping spies.
He is also responsible for outting the Maxwell's. Even getting his own family in detained. Probably leading to his grandfather's death. Helped in capturing Julie. Denigrating and abusing other humans.
Who knows what else he's done off screen as a visitor minion.
He sooo had it coming.

The father of the Maxwell familly was a scientist. At that time, the scientists tried to capture Visitors to study them and stole mothership!
Of course he denounced them.
His familly protected scientists, they had to be interrogated. And his grandfather was old. There is a scene when Brian tells Daniel his Grandfather was ill and they were trying to save his life, but they failed.
Julie was a terrorist who were spreading misinformations on the visitors.
The Doctors Daniel 'abused' had it coming : rewatch the scene, they show only despite and hatred for Daniel. Why are you surprised he treat them like they treat him.
Do you want to knwo what else he did : He tried to build a fucking bridge between humans and Visitors, showing that all humans were not monsters and that we could be befriended.

And in the novelization, on the night this scene occurs, Stanley and Lynn actually declared him dead, or something pretty close to it like we have no son, just before Brian was taken and Daniel was made to take the fall for it.

It is not shocking though, that after arresting Julie, Daniel acquired so much trust among the Visitors that Brian didn't feel the need of bodyguards.

It could be assumed that the trust was built right from the very beginning when Daniel turned his own family in along with the Maxwells , however the Maxwells managed to escape.
