  • Introduction to the restoration of this ex German Harbour Ferry. Built in 1958 and delivered into service in January of 1959 she was named "Alte Liebe" Later been renamed "Orestead" "Baltica 1" "Baltica" and then finally "Habicht 2"
She spent 35 yrs in service around the Baltic Sea and was retired in 1994. She was purchased and brought to Liverpool that year and renamed "Princess Royal" for a business venture that was unsuccessful and has remained tied up in Liverpool Docks ever since slowly rusting away.
She was literally weeks from been scrapped for a second time when she came into new ownership.
Now a group of dedicated volunteers, which include myself, are restoring her with a hope to sail her once again, this time in British Waters around the North West Coast. She has now been renamed "Endeavour"
Follow our story on Facebook at "The Endeavour Project" as we strip away the years of decay and rust and bring her back to life. At the time of publishing this video, we are already 4 months into our project and are well on the way to stopping the decay with external decks scrapped and repainted, deck leaks repaired stopping internal ceiling leaks, external Teak doors stripped back and varnished as well as may internal spaces being stripped back to their original form after many refits over her career and all external doors secured as well as all engineering areas being secured.
It will be a long project, often moving slowly.......but there is hoped to be progress videos along the way.

Hi, I've been getting into photography a lot recently, I have a sale but I'm wanting to upgrade. What camera and lens generally do you use for your videos/time lapses. Thanks for your help,
    Tommy

tommylfc98 Hi Tommy. I use a Canon 5D mainly but I used a GoPro for most of the timelapse on this video. Most of the other timelapse videos on my channel are done on the 5D. I usually shoot wide, somewhere between 16mm and 50mm. The thing about quality is that if you spend loads on kit to get the best result.......it's a waste by the time CZcams and Facebook heavily compress the file to publish it. Best of luck with your work.

Andy Shukie Photography Hi, thanks for that! Could I ask what 5d you use? Is it the mark ii? Also what go pro do you use?
Funny enough I've been looking at getting a go pro and a 5d if you could let me know which ones you have that would be great!
      Thanks :)
