after owning an amplifier or rather ARCAM amplifiers...The A28Fmj which I found really very good but with a slight lack of punch, then an A39, a bit too analytical but excellent, I also had the CD17Fmj and CDS27Fmj, very good too, but after I bought the CDS50 then I said to myself, let's try the adventure with the SA20,... with a REGA P3 and ACOUSTIC ENERGY AE309, the SA20 was very comfortable, a easy to amplify the speakers, yet not that easy, ... it has some under the hood and the musicality is excellent, less cold than on the A39, and a little dull, very fun, an excellent amplifier, and a top combination !!!
What dac chip is in the cd player ? Same as the Sa20?
Does this amplifier sound good with techno music and hip hop ?
B & W is very greedy current but 80 watts G class, yes, I think, and the sensitivity is not too low,. a few more watts and your cm9s2 would behave much better ..
Hello! I bought this Arcam SA20 amplifier and used it with the KEF R300 speakers and when I climb over the volume of 60 distorts I no longer understand anything? Why?
Probably because you are over driving the speakers. I'd suggest speaking to your dealer. Kind Regards, Struan
Hi Hi-Fi Corner: I recently bought B&W 606s and I was wondering which one would go better with them: de SA10 or SA20. Do you think the SA10 will be sufficient to drive them?
Right now I have a Heos AMP1 driving them, which is enough watts but sounds way to thin..
I'm also looking at the NAD C368 as an alternative.
Hi - which amp are you using with 606? I just got 606, and confused btw sa10 and sa20, so could use your advice. Thanks
@@ashishsuraj100 I'm using the SA20, does the job very well. SA10 is 50 instead of 90 watts per channel, but should be good as well. Depends on if you want to play your music loud or not. What are your requirements?
With the SA10 and the SA20 I'm just wondering what my setup is on par with. I have the arcam avr20 helped out with a couple of matching pa410 4 channel power amps? Basically as far as sound quality goes, which is better a power amp or a integrated amp. 🤔
I would think an avr20 with power amp is about the same in stereo performance as the SA20. Especially because you have dirac. The SA30 would be better, but I would stick with what you have and look else ware in the system to upgrade
How would the arcam SA20 sound with b&w cm9s2 speakers?
It would do the job, but you could appreciate more power with those speakers. Call us for more advice. Kind Regards, Struan
Hi Struan thanks for your reply, I have just spent about 3 weeks with the Arcam SA20 and i really wanted to like the Aracam but it wasnt able to run my cm9s at louder levels very well, everything sounded pretty good at normal volumes but when pushed a little harder the sound became very hissy and uncomfortable.
I am now seriously considering the Rotel ra 1592
A 1592 would do a much better job, it is what I would use (minimum) in the shop. If you can stretch to a pre/power from Rotel even better. Alternatively if that breaks the budget we have some lovely second hand amplifiers which would be a nice match.@@hclandscapes
@@hi-ficorner i think a pre power set up is slightly out of my budget, have you heard of the peachtree audio nova300?
I have not listened to the Nova300 but I have tested a number of Peachtree amplifiers. It would be worth getting in touch and we can advise you@@hclandscapes
Sa 20 is 90 w per channel not 80
I powered my four speakers ( B&W 684 + KEF LS 50 ) with a Arcam A39 Fmj ..
the build quality aint that good for £2000, I'd buy cyrus over the new arcam any day
Please no sucker music on the beginning. Dislike!
