    Thank you for this! It's simpler than some other "explanations" I've been looking at. And I like the trick with the RCA jacks. You have almost 250,000 views -- for a video that explains a _really_ obscure and complex problem.

    Wow, I had no idea!!! Up until now, I just used one side of my headphones, so that I could hear the music coming from the headphones on one ear and hear my voice with my other ear because, even after installing the ASIO driver, the latency was so big that it was just impossible to hear myself on my headphones. I just tried to connect the RCA Left & Right outputs to the inputs and...magic!!! It works! So glad I saw this video! Thank you for making it and sharing this!!!

  • @isteinelebenseinstellung3922

    I don't know how many threads on the net I have read so far which are testament to the fact how very confused people (myself absolutely included, mind you) are about how this thing with USB/2-TR input/output inclusion/exclusion really works.
    I must have read the according sections of the manuals to my X1204USB, Q802USB and Q502USB about 10 times each before I finally (with some experimentation) got to the point where things came together for me; and still I have to look up my notes, whenever I haven't done multi-tracking with them in a while.
    Your video on the other hand makes it all very easy to understand (I am really surprised that there are only ~725 views.)
    Anyway, many thanks for taking the time not only to show how it's done, but also for doing it with very clear diagrams. Big thumbs up.

      Hi there - I just read your comment that you have been able to complete the USB/2-TR input/output inclusion/exclusion with Xeynx1204 USB mixer. I see two red buttons (2-TR/USB and 2-TR/USB to Main) and 2 black buttons (Alt 3-4 and Main Mix) and 1 knob (for Phones/Ctrl Room). How do I need to use these buttons along with RCA loop cable to accomplish the following - record only microphone audio in computer via usb while playing music/karaoke track on computer and be able to hear the music/vocal together with no latency in headphones

    A good tutorial on routing of audio signals with useful diagrams.
    The zero latency trick is pretty awesome! However it is mentioned that keeping the "USB/2-Track" to "Main Mix" button down (accidentally) would cause feedback and possible damage the unit. The manual says that when this button is down, the signal to the "2-track out" (as well as the audio going to the USB from the mixer) would be cut off. Which means there is a built in protection against feedback in case the said button is down. However this raises another question. How would the overdubbed recording scenario work if the audio signal going to the USB (from the mixer) is cut off when the said button is down?

    Thanks for this excellent explanatory video. I think one key piece of information is missing - How do you connect the RCA loop lead? From what you have shown, I'm guessing you just plug both L and R RCA channels to connect the Output to the Input sockets, which creates an analog feedback loop that only goes to the headphone monitors. Correct?

I'm using Track Live, a free recording program just to test if the inputs are being recognized in the software, but so far i haven't been able to see any audio coming into the Tracks. I'm using ASIO4ALL driver as well. I'll attempt to try again following this video, I'd expect I shouldn't have to purchase another recording module that the USB connection is all that I should need.

      This mixer is an audio interface, so no need to purchase additional interface. It only supports USB stereo audio (2 out x 2 in), of the main outputs. If you are expecting or looking for each channel to record separately in WAVES Tracks Live, then it will only show just 2 channels.

    Hi and thanks for posting interesting instructions. Provided that I am interested in xenyx 802, what is not clear though is how many sources I can connect at the same time. My need is to play guitar and bass (hopefully drum too) on a recorded sound track. So I need a stereo input and at least 2 or 3 additional inputs for instruments. Mics have their own channels, but I do not know whether can be used for instruments. Many thanks for supporting me :-)

    • @RecordingStudio9
      @RecordingStudio9  Před 7 lety

      If you are using USB mics, then you cannot really use a mixer, as the USB mic plugs to the PC USB port directly.
      You can use ASIO4ALL to combine multiple USB Mics into your recording software, but you may have some issues.
      If you need 3 Mics but simple stereo main audio to your recording software, then 3 dynamic or condenser Mics into any 3 Mic channel USB mixer should do.
      Hope this helps
