I came for the compressor, but stayed for the music! 👍
The same :)
❤The music ❤what you need a compressor anymore?
Great song!
sick vocoder!
@@PatrickStefanI think it’s a talkbox: czcams.com/video/h_L5v9OTSxc/video.htmlsi=Rc-fNr7bYkUoVrR8
My God! Someone who actually knows how to use a compressor on CZcams!
Actually the best thing Behringer ever made has to be said
This is a great example of “it’s not the car, it’s the driver”! It’s how you use it! Great video!👏
Thank God a cool sounding demo track ❤. Not another "splashy already squashed" drum example
It creates space and brings forward the vocals and glues the bottom to the rest of the mix
Extremely good demo, thank you for sharing. This thing sounds seriously great!
So many flavours 🍭 the power of sculpting using your ears
Wow! This is the track to demo this thing. Love it when you are really pushing it.
33609 is one of my favs, and have worked with a few. All different revisions and one was specifically modded to be aggressive. From what I hear, this is so in the ball park. Definitely on my buy list.
I think it's worth it, I like this box more and more.
First, great song. And the compressor ... very convincing.
Thank you for the video, music and for showing the guts inside the box!
This is a way better demo than the official demo.
Thanks. Sounds good. Great song and recording!
Dude, freakin good test and sound
love it, thanx for that.
Definatly gonna buy one, it s really woorth it :)
Good demo, unit sounds good....and the track is DOPE !
I love everything about this track! Ofcourse your work on it as well!! Got my "STANK" face ON!!
Oh yeah sorry, Great video/sound DEMO!
It's actually very clean and musical sounding behringer did a good job, wish it had a sidechain and mix knob so it could be used with more bass heavy music
being a hardware unit, you can just blend it with the dry signal within your DAW
Thanks for taking the time putting this video together. 👍🏼
Those drums....sound huge on a tiny speaker. Brilliant performance too.
Great demo, great song
Thanks 🙏
Hey, a lot better than I expected.
Looks great and sounds great!
There’s no practical difference between this and the Neve, especially if used as a mix bus compressor, low ratio 1-2db rounding of peaks. Heck, I’d even argue it’s not all that different than an API 2500 or SSL G comp. Anyone claiming the difference is more than subtle at best is full of nonsense. It’s incredible that a compressor of this quality has been brought down to a price point accessible by a broader section of the market. Love or hate Behringer, they are taking advantage of economies of scale rarely seen in the pro audio market.
It’s definitely different. But pretty good comp for the price
@@pyratellamarecordingstudio1062 nah
Great compressor and song!
The 33609 has long been a favorite of mine. Subtle or outrageous. Both are easily found and even the switch stops don’t get in the way. Please let Behringer’s clone be expensive enough to be taken seriously.
Dope tuneage! Super tight 💪🏼.
Man it’s got the weight too. Impressive. That track goes hard.
Man, I really wanted to hear those auto recovery settings on program material. That tells alot about how it actually stacks up against a real 33609, which is dry and weighty.
The transients are being tamed very nice, sounds tight and groovy
Holy cow these guys are great
Guy is a talk box beast
Came to post this! daaaamn that was a great performance I'm still smiling over here hehe
Thanks for the video!
bitte
Great sounding
VERY nice mix, regarding the compressor settings they all sounded great. matter of taste
Sounds pretty good.
Great sounding compressor. Was trying to follow the knob tweaking but I'm over here grooving too hard...
It seems to sound even better the harder you push it
Great track!
why mono mode?
I really dig dual-mono in general. I admit it sounds pretty vague with A LOT of GR, but I wouldn't normally set it up that way.
I’m buying one because of this video
This was fantastic... we also have to challenge the " has to live up to the real deal". Is the pricepoint good? Is the sound good? Hardware makes the diff no question and just gets you there quicker. I think it's great we have more options for small studios. I think this unit sounds good personally.
best compressor demo i ever seen, thanks for this. Very Great Compressor, but not my expectation when i compare it to the original. the price is awesome
Nice test and nice sound! Why is mono selected instead of stereo though?
That's it I'm getting one!
Go for it, it's a good steam engine💨
Sounds like a Studer reel to reel with DBX preamps…
Thank you very much, great demonstration. I have 2 questions. One about gain staging. At what dbvu level does the song enter the compressor. Second, what is the process flow, does the signal go first to the compressor and from the compressor to the limiter or first to the limiter and then to the compressor? Thanks
Hits at about 0vu (you can see at 5:30) signalflow is comp into limiter.
@@guterton ❤️
Cool tune
interesting, not a bad compressor!.. easliy one of, if not the best for that price. cool mix btw, the bottom end is really nice..
Is there an EQ like this On the market for Mastering? Tkx
With the Preamp leak/teaser, I think it will be worthwhile for behringer to come with an excellent eq in this price range. It will become the holy trio 😂
When this unit sells for a couple bucks second hand, i'll jump on it right away!
Man...my mouth is watering....GOTA HAVE IT!!
Seems great!!! Cheap for us?
It actually sounds good. Be interested in hearing it vs a uad or acustica plug-in. Good video!
he did a vs uad: czcams.com/video/Dak0a85Vb3M/video.htmlsi=k09J8QjwCVL4NT_J
Well well well! I didn’t think it would sound this good 👍🏽
I feel the same way, was a big surprise
listening cassette tapes here from my TELEFUNKEN Casssette deck that was made before I was born and I was born in 1980....easily the best cassette player /deck. that I have ever owned.... sound is jyst so clear and bright but still watm and powerful.... anf and actually, I am a Behringer Analog modular synth user also so we have some things in common 👌🏻🤝
What. A. Tune. Is it out?
And here I was thinking the warm audio bus compressor was worth it
Merci beaucoup!!
Thanks for the video. Noticed that you have the unit in dual mono and not in stereo. This has some effect on the stereo image.
Yes, that's because I like every compressor unlinked better and almost always use it that way. However, things can get weird when exaggerated like this, or when the L/R signals are very different.
@@guterton it depends on the way that the compressor handles its stereo side chain. In general for a mix bus the stereo mode should sound better.
Nice! has it been released yet to the public?
Well damn, this thing sounds delicious
yes I think it's a great box so far :)
fantastique resultat
Could you take some HQ pics of the inside in order to see what opamps are used?
Sounds damn good! It's pretty wild to have a 3 trafo stereo path for that price (and you even get a free compressor in it lol)
Lol Op-amps, even the expensive op-amps are cheap, it’s the transformers you should be looking at, and it appears this one has custom transformers made by Midus.
the signal path is discrete transistor, chips are for things like meter driver circuit,etc..
@@canecreek00 Yep transformers are custom so not much to look for (unless someone dares to tear one down)
Looks pro
Now waiting for someone to compare it to the heritage clone and the real Neve
I ordered one as soon as I heard from it, definitely curious about this one. For the money definitely worth a try and see if I like it. The Klark Technic LA2A clone is pretty good too and the Pultec clone is pretty dope too. I hope Behringer continues to surprise us with more great gear, a tube mic preamp would be nice or even some 500 series who knows what else they’ve got up their sleeves 😊
Yes, I have these Klark's too and still like them, especially the kt-2a. I installed better tubes in both, which makes them a little smoother.
Wow!
Geiles Video und Teil Gruß Abo ist da❤
good music
IT would be nice if they start maming all the hardware clones, ssl and etc. That would be steal
💪GR8!

Who gives a shit what this was mixed on. This is nasty fucking amazing.
My first thoughts...oh cool, he takes a new Song from Omar to Demo it..😄..But seems like it's yours. Great work. 👍
Do you think carnhill transformers would improve the replica?
I don‘t know.. I think the stock ones are fine :)
sounds awesome, listening in a crappy speaker, great mix!
Interesting that there is NO mention anywhere of this unit being a Diode-Bridge compressor. That's a key element of the original. Wonder if this is really being done with VCAs instead.
It does work with actual diode bridges. It was confirmed by Behringer in a comment on their announcement video. :)
You can see the (2x 4 discrete) diodes in the intro-shot at 0:08, bottom. As far as I'm not mistaken.
I wonder where is a diode bridge in a plug in ?
@@atacamabeatsindierecording8406😂
I have no problem with this, hell if I can swap out parts to my liking then I’m okay with it nonetheless it sounds awesome go Behringer 👍🏼
this is great
compressor sounds good
Sounds great but the ONLY negative I've personally noticed from the 369 is those threshold pots seem to be really hard to turn and sound like you're stripping a plastic screw head when you turn them. That being said, I'm still gonna get one.
Agree, these potis aren't that good. I hope they keep up some time :)
it sounds nevey.....oh yesssss
I like Behringer's engineering, and I have several of their products all of which stopped working.. I wish they would manufacture their products in Germany, even if they have to raise the price. It's really annoying when you're working on a project and their equipment just quits working. WHERE is this unit manufactured? If it's China,it's a "no go" no matter how good it sounds when it's new.
So here's my rant about Behringer. Back in the day they used to be an incredible high-end outboard gear company where all of their equipment was made in Germany. For one reason or another, and I'm not going to pretend to know the reason, they stayed in the business but unfortunately had to outsource their gear to China. Fact of the matter is, the genius of Behringer is still there and it's clearly behind so much of their equipment so when people piss and moan about them ripping other companies off or whatever they piss and moan about when it comes to Behringer, I think they should just look at the situation as being an incredible value for equipment that would cost easily five times as much if it was still made in Germany. And as they have control over what they release, does it really matter who's putting it together? I'm never going to be one of those people who know about labor practices or trade practices or any of that shit but one thing I do know a lot about is equipment. I know what works and what doesn't, I know what's good and what's cheap and by cheap I mean made like shit, I know when I've scored something that is pretty damn incredible for what I paid and that happens more often than not with Behringer equipment. I have a number of their mics that cost under $20 and I use them on a regular basis in recording and stage applications and Not one of my peers have ever asked me what I was using because it was terrible. However, "Dude that sounds incredible... what are you using on that?" is pretty common for me to hear on a Friday or Saturday night. I use their UMC-1820 quite frankly because the Midas preamps are just the shit. Especially for the price I paid. The amount of recordings that I've made with that and not one person, not one single customer ever has been disappointed. In fact because of most people's surprise at the quality and my recommendations I'm sure that I've helped them sell so much gear. But whatever, I do the same with any company that I dig and Behringer's just always been there at the top. Everybody knows that they're inexpensive, but what everybody doesn't know is that about 90% of it is just incredible, sadly just because they're afraid of trying it out incase their gear snob egos get crushed and they have to admit something that goes against every other sheep's opinions. Baaahhhh
It's sounds like a bridge diode compressor, such good bang for buck.
as much as people want to shit on Behringer, they are giving the people things like this and no one else is (this is hyperbole, internet)
at first i wanna thank you to behringer to make this (hope it quite affordable too #cough)
also nice music that you use for test, sir!
i guess no attack setting in milliseconds hmm but if for subtle comp on mic bus it’s ok. i just don’t get buying outboard gear for doing subtle things.
Totally agree
Tiene buen sabor
On my list insert it into SSL Fusion tho
i think this would do great as a budget mastering compressor i do not think i would get this for vocals at least not from what has been demo i'd get something else like the wa-1b
actually pairing this up with the klark eqpt eq would make for a great combo mastering set
Dumb question, but I just bought a Klark Teknik LA2A and 1176 clone. did I waste my money? should I just have bought this?
Can this handle vocal, guitar, drum tracks "better" than the K.K. 1176 and LA2A clones?
These are all different compressors for different tasks/falvors. A FET (1176) is a totaly different character, VERY quick attack und cool distortion. A La2a (OPTO) is - at least for me - more a leveler for "overall compression" and not that much aggressive shaping. These all have their place.. :)
Got some Bill Withers up in here
It's crazy how a lot of people are dissing behringer, like they're defending their mom or something lol
Companies don't care about you, they only care about your wallet, stop simping for them.
Sounds great to me btw.
I wanna see a 909 thru it
Jetz hesch denu scho?!
Jep :) schnälle Finger gha..
Geile Video, geile Sound! Guet gmacht 💪! Bisch zfride mit dem Teil?
Me want - Phat!
At least Behringer price them reasonably, unlike the so called high end gear that are priced 10x more for hardly 5% difference in the mix. How much does it cost for a bunch of transformers? Surely not $5000!
Behringer can price it reasonably because someone else did the RnD for them.
@EcstaticSuffering Behringer still went through RnD, the original components may not be available today as they were for the original units, so choosing different components that are readily available for production and sound as good would took alot of trial and error. Also, RnD does not cost 10x the value of the build cost of a single unit, companies price on brand loyalty and recognition in thr market place
@@CalvinMOfficial good for you. Keep buying their products as you wish. If it's not 10x it's still too expensive for what you get. I have neve products for your information, so I know what they do.
How much RnD other cloning companies did? How much do they charge?
@@HatredPrime you better ask this question to a retailer.
End of the day it's crab unit
Wow, if you pause at 0:10, looking at the solder patterns for the switches and knobs, it seems like they used actual stepped rotary switches 😮
I just saw another video about the various 33609 revisions and different clones where it turned out the almost 2000$ Heritage Audio clone was using cheap 3$ continuous potentiometers.
This has got stepped pots.
@@RoofLight00a potentiometer only has 3 pins... It could have a "stepped" feeling by adding indents in the moving shaft, but that doesn't change the fact that it's a continuous and less precise control.
In the Behringer I'm counting 16 pins for some of the rotary controls so they are in fact 16-position rotary switches, not cheap pots. Maybe not all of them - hard to tell with the video.
